It is the most disgusting hotel I have ever visited in my life, blood stains on the bed, terrible smell in the rooms, sheets were not clean, towels were torn with holes in them, the restaurant was terrible and dirty , the breakfast was as rotten as expected, I would recommend never make a mistake to ever go to Langkawi Century Beach hotel.

Wonderful hotel with a beach front pool. Big property with good internal transportation, silent, polite staff, good food, vast parking space and a private beach! We booked beach view rooms which will be small wooden cottages on the sand in front of the beach. I always pick this hotel when I travel to Langkawi. U can rent a car and self drive to this location. Peaceful stay. Best place for honeymooners. Nearer to the board yard and other locations are bit far. But worth the stay. 5star property.

I booked a room at the Century Langkawi Beach Resort through Flight Centre Hong Kong. Alarms should have gone off when the agent said they had a non-refundable billing. MY MISTAKE, MY BAD. I did not check reviews on Trip Advisor, MY BAD #2. I paid the bill. After going back to my hotel, I started checking the reviews, OH what a mistake I had made (just read the reviews). I contacted the agent at Flight Centre, "I have received news from the supplier that they have agreed to a partial refund of 60 percent, which amounts to HKD 5280.60 is to be credited back to you." That was on 21 December. All I can say is don't let the nice picture influence you check out the reviews and stay away from this place.

seriously they should close this whole resort as the operation would absolutely made the guests feel like they have been scammed. Got a garden view room, the fans did not working and the staff attending the complaint didn’t show up until almost 2 hours later. We have been switched to another room and thank god it was okay. The swimming pool was a disaster, so filthy and the water had turned yellow-ish. Didn’t dare to let my kids to even get near it, swim is a big NO-NO. It’s a run down resort, I guess it would be a nice place if it weren’t for the poor maintenance.

The place is old and poorly maintained, the bathroom should be cleaner. The room was spacious and clean but the bed sheets were very dirty. Overall, the room was ok but it should be better. The most disgusting thing was the breakfast buffet, the visible part of the kitchen was very dirty, the silverware were dirty and old, i could not find a glass without stains. Bugs were flying around, some of the open food was covered with flys. I only ate some fruits which were covered. The highlight of my stay was the scenery, although the hotel are not maintaining it, monkeys everywhere, the pool is poorly maintained. All the facilities are closed, either for renovation or just permanently closed.

I went to this resort in February 2018 to celebrate our first anniversary and we were mesmerized by the beauty of the property. Though the reception guy is slow worker we had good time at the property. Big rooms, scenic outdoors are plus. You can take stroll across the resort as it is adjoining a beach hence you have a private beach for yourself. You can hire a scooty on cheap rates to commute across Langkawi and is advisable as the Island is very small. I recommend this property for family, couples etc.

This is classed as a 4 star. I'd give it a 2 star if that. It must have been a beautiful place at one stage of its life, but now it has been left to disrepair. The photos on Trivago are from when it was new & well maintained. Now its a mess. The shower was so dirty that I was scared to touch the walls in case I caught something. The toilet bowl was cracked & I feared that it may break when seated on it. The timber floor around the pool area was old & rotted. I complained about a loose board that lifted when stood on, but nothing was done so I removed it to highlight it. To get to your room you have to get the hotel bus, as the paths are steep & not well maintained. The door to balcony was difficult to open & shut. They advertise a gym & children's play area, but this does not exist. The restaurant breakfast & meals were always the same with no variation. The tables & floor were never completely clean. Always crumbs around. The meals were also delivered cold. I complained to the manager & with assistance from my travel agent we were upgraded. The second room was so much better, still not 4 star standard. There are not shops or restaurants nearby. One has to order a taxi from the front desk to go anywhere. There are ample staff lolling around, but no action is taken to maintain the abhorrent condition of the grounds or place.

To be honest I did have a bit of expectation before my visit because this old hotel was formerly managed by Sheraton but I’m very disappointed that the current management of this hotel refused to spend any budget on keeping the hotel in good shape. For example, some bulbs are not working, the in-room safe is not working, the shower-head is a bit broken, the sink has a very large & dirty crack, the wooden bridge to the swimming pool is a bit broken, and the floor around the pool is so slippy because moss is everywhere, etc. Trust me… you just don’t want to use any facility in this hotel. Also, as the hotel is surrounded by lots of trees, so you can expect bugs are everywhere but it’s still acceptable. On the other hand, the staffs are okey & friendly, as what you can expect from a 2-3 stars hotel, so the key problem is the lack of maintenance.
