Getting there
Good for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed here for three nights in a triple room which was an acceptable size. We had one large and one carry-on suitcase open and there was still enough space for three adults to walk around in.
The hotel is conveniently located - it is right next to an underground shopping street which connects to Nagoya station and Kokusai Centre station, so we could stay out of the rain and the hot summer sun. However, there is a long flight of stairs between the underground shopping street and ground level, so it would not be convenient if you are carrying heavy suitcases or if you have mobility issues. If it is your first time to Nagoya, it would be easier to head to the hotel using the overground route, as the underground passageways can be disorienting at first.
Front desk staff were great and helped us with restaurant reservations a few times, but housekeeping was inconsistent. They gave us new pyjamas every day but did not refill the tea box at all during our stay.

Very nice hotel. 5 mins walk to Nagoya station and can walk just outside of the hotel to Unimall which can lead to the station.
New hotel, great amenities and good service. They give free breakfast which doesn’t have much choice but is very satisfying. The price is also cheap. Will stay here again if I ever visit Nagoya again.

Location is great and close to station but depends on what part of station you get off it might take longer to find this place. If you come from airport and take express train you will end up in the opposite side and it can get very confusing. Nagoya station is busy and their signs are very confusing. One of hotel direction says Unimall exit 10 I would not recommend this route. Unimall is underground mall and it is very hard to find especially when you have luggage. Just find the entrance of Takashimaya department store at JR nagoya station. Hotel is on the same road as this department store. Stay on the left side of this road and walk 5min. You'll see Castle hotel on your right side of this street. If you see family mart (convenience store) turn left. Their sign is very small and there is a chance you'll miss it. Hotel is pretty typical Japanese hotel in this price range. Room is small but very clean and functional. They have pretty good coffee downstairs and you get bottle of water for free too. Their breakfast is restraunt quality and it was excellent but more western style food than Japanese. If you're more into fish, rice and miso soup this is not the place for you. They make pretty much everything there including sausage, jam and dressing and everything was great. Since it's very close to station I highly recommend this hotel. Even though it's not that complicated I got lost at night with luggage because my train exit was not connected to JR nagoya station. If you're coming from another part of Japan by train or Airport just find TAKASHIMAYA Department store at JR NAGOYA station and you'll be fine.

Connected to Nagoya Station via Unimall, although the exit is serviced by only stairs, so it would probably be better to walk above ground if coming with luggages.
We got a Corner Deluxe Twin, but it still felt a little cramped. The breakfast spread is typical of breakfast buffets, but the restaurant does get a little crowded. They do provide boxes to pack the food to go if you prefer.

Excellent for the price. Rooms are a little tight but if you’re a student/with the lads this is perfect and less than half the price of the Marriott (at least when I was booking). It’s a little over a 5 minute walk from the train station and is around a lot of cool areas. Would recommend to travelers on a budget, really awesome value.

This is a sleek modern well presented hotel with thought into the compact room layout. There are power points everywhere, WiFi was great and staff lovely and welcoming.
The hotel is 5 minute walk from the train station. There is a Family Mart (convenience store) on the ground next to it. This was such a refreshing change to stay in a modern classy hotel in Japan.

Nagoya is the city we flew in and out for our Central Japan trip. Rounding off the trip, we stayed at Royal Park Hotel,The Nagoya for 3 nights before heading home. We were on a free & easy trip: literally "free & easy" by using Yamato Ta-Q-Bin delivery service throughout our trip. So our last hotel has to be very near to Nagoya Station for us to take the train to Chubu Centrair Int'l Airport. Royal Park fit the bill nicely. We could pushed our bags to Nagoya Station in minutes. Its location is excellent. The reception/lobby is on the 2nd floor. The elevator from the ground floor always stops at the 2nd floor before heading upwards which is a good security feature.
We booked the deluxe twin room which is a little bigger than their normal ones. That gave us the space needed to open up 2 suitcases for packing. I like the shower room with a bathtub in it. Everything is very clean & has the modern look. The hotel even give 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water everyday. That sure is a nice touch. There is a spa on the 3rd floor open for hotel stay-in guests for free. Not many ciy hotels have that.
We didn't eat at the hotel as there are lots of places to eat in the vicinity. Will definitely stay again in Park Royal the next time we visit Nagoya.

This was my first stay with a Royal Park hotel, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I managed to get a single room for a very reasonable rate, and was extremely impressed with the included breakfast, public baths, and little extras. The check in was extremely efficient and I wish I'd gotten the name of the young man I dealt with; he was extremely helpful in offering sightseeing suggestions when I mentioned I had previously lived in Nagoya and was interested in how the city had changed.
The hotel also hands out a great one-page list of sightseeing highlights in Nagoya and Inuyama, maps and more. For the price point, the hotel itself feels very upscale starting with the entrance (reception and lobby are on the second floor). I loved the soft jazz music playing in the halls and in the breakfast area.
The room was actually quite a good size, but the only thing that threw me was the lack of a door to the toilet area, which is also visible from the bed as is there is a mirror mounted on the wall across from the bathroom. There is a Family Mart on the first floor of the building with an entrance right to the hotel elevator. Be aware that the in-room fridge is extremely tiny and will not hold much in the way of refrigerated food. The free bottled mineral water was also a much-appreciated touch. Bedding and towels were excellent quality and I loved the air purifier. Rooms are strictly nonsmoking; $300 fine if you do, so thankfully no smoke odors like in other hotels I've stayed in.
Hotel restaurant Monsieur Itoh offers up a great buffet breakfast with plenty of options. Another great perk is you can use your breakfast coupon for lunch instead if you so desire. They also offer a dinner menu in the evenings. I loved the fact they have a Jura espresso machine that made excellent cappuccino!
I did not have the chance to use the public baths on this visit, but from what I can see on the website they look great (if compact). Nothing beats a soak in a hot tub after a long day of sightseeing!
I will most definitely stay again at the Royal Park Hotel the Nagoya on future visits!

A nice hotel located quite near the main JR Nagoya station that itself is a metropolis. Convenient yet far away from the business of the main station so that it retains its charm. The room is a decent size, especially by Japan standards. Clean and modern. Perfect for families. There is a family mart convenient store connected at the bottom so you needn't travel far for simple drinks and snacks.
Nagoya station is rather large station that contains many train and subway lines, so it's difficult to navigate. If you choose this hotel, from the station, find "unimall". Take exit U10. Not 10. It is just around the corner from there.

I don’t see any problem leaving the luggage there a day before your check in. We did left our luggage in the early morning and went back at night on the same day to check in. I believe as long as you had made a room reservation they should be able to accommodate your request. They are very helpful based on my recent stay.
Hi. The hotel has Express Mail, and as most reasonable size hotels, it will have the bag size takkyubin service. In the rare case that they don't do it, you have the alternative to send it from the Nagoya station, which certainly has the service. If I recall well, there is one in the "hotel side" of the station. Information can tell you where it is located. Good trip!
There are more places to choose from in the Nagoya area.
