Detailed Reviews
We went their for a short trip with 11 People. The rooms are nice, and we spent a lot of time at the pool area. It has a lot of nice seatpossibilitys and their is some nice music. The prices are very fair and if you dont want to taste the great food you can even cook for yourself at the opened kitchen. If you want you can even enjoy a BBQ they offer the coal for free. All people are very friendly so you just feel at home.
All in all it is the best Hostel I ever visited! Thank you so much.

Whenever we're in Livingstone we always head straight to these guys. The team are absolutely amazing and make you feel right at home, and are happy to book all the activities available at Victoria Falls and in Livingstone. Food is delicious, reasonably priced and the bar vibe and super clean pool are an added bonus. Very close to supermarket and other bars and restaurants if you want to eat out. The rooms are clean, with mosquito nets and everything you need for a good time in Livingstone! Thanks Conor, Claudous and the rest of the team for another awesome stay!

Mum and I stayed here for 8 nights while in Zambia. I have stayed in backpackers in quite a few countries and this one was easily one of the best! The service was fantastic, Stephen was great at helping us book day trips and giving us directions around town! The other staff were always happy and friendly as well.
The whole place had such a happy chilled vibe which was ideal! Our room was basic but had everything we needed, showers weren't the best but they were warm which was nice! The kitchen and bar facilities were awesome, the kitchen had everything we needed to be able to prepare our own meals and there were plenty of tables, chairs and couches for eating and relaxing! I highly recommend this hostel to anyone of any age, it was a great location for mum and I to both enjoy! Thank you again to all the staff!

My friend and I are currently spending a few weeks backpacking around Zambia and Malawi...we only arrived at Livingstone Backpackers during the early hours of this morning but the service and facilities are exceptional and have compelled me to write this review. We are not your conventional 'early twenties backpackers'...admittedly we are only in our late twenties, but found that Lusaka backpackers caters for a wide age range. Facilities range depending on price, our first night in a double en suite room was that of a 4 star hotel and our next night will be spent in a twin room with shared bathroom, which although basic is exceptionally clean and well furnished. We were greeted at 0330 by a helpful member of staff who kindly showed us to our room and explained the working of the hostel. The following morning, a wide selection of breakfast options were available and staff happily helped us with our activity reservations. I would highly recommend this hostel....in summary.....clean, well equipped and fun without being in your face!

+1
Beware mosquitoes at night so I got my own room for $25. Just open and close the door fast. Amazing scenario to chill, talk, party, drink, relax. Pool is beautiful. Staff is super. Stay here to really relax and socialize!

I was here for 10 days and Dawne and her staff made it feel like home. It’s safe and secure. They helped me organize everything from Safari to Volunteering in a local village. Great location. close to everything. You will love it.

This place would be lovely - it has a great location and friendly staff , but unfortunately it encourages the kind of drinking, gap-yah laddish culture that I came to Africa to get away from.
The good stuff: beautiful pool and communal area, very close to supermarkets, and a free daily shuttle to the Falls. There were lots of interesting people I met to talk to, although few Zambians. Nice laundry service and good breakfasts. There's an affiliation with a cool charity, and they have movie nights on Mondays.
The average: I stayed in a girls- only dorm for 4 : there WERE mosquito nets (August 2015) , but blankets were thin and top bunks precarious; showers may or may not have hot water.
The bad: a)Loud groups. It was hard to get to sleep as the rooms are close to the bar and sound system which is on every night . Beware drunken people on the weekends. (I'm 22 and like to think I'm a grown up.)
b) Not a single Zambian or otherwise African song on their vast playlist - what?!
c) There is a moderately offensive picture in the reception advertising the local experience/ dishes, which depicts what looks like two golliwogs wearing hula skirts ( totally inappropriate for Zambia) which to be honest made me sad. Overall gives the impression that travellers are in Zambia really to look at animals and the falls but with no interest at all in how people here live.
Overall: lovely location, would have preferred somewhere with a more local feel.

The staff here are brilliant but I couldn't get over how uncomfortable the whole attempting to sleep experience was here. The matrices are horrendous I would choose sleeping in a tent on the floor any day rather than bare the uncomforted of the matrices. The room was also a small sweat box with one fan which did nothing but circulate hot air round the room, this was before the constant bass of the music from the club across the way continued till 3-4 am.
Guess you get what you pay for and livingstone backpackers is cheap as chips!!!
