My wife and I are just back from the Golden Rock Hotel after 2 weeks, we had a superb sea view room . The staff are excellent ( must name Musa on reception and our housekeeper Sevnur who really looked after us ) but all the staff were very well mannered and polite and were very accommodating the hotel is a delight to stay in and the food we thought was excellent , our bedroom was spacious very clean and tastefully decorated cleaned every day and linen changed every second day.
Its sits in a great location around 3km from centre of Marmaris and is not noisy with nightlife . The service overall in this Hotel was excellent we could not fault it I know on trip advisor your suppose to describe faults as well , so sorry to disappoint there wasn't any faults it was all good, ok I have 1 little gripe would much prefer the beach umbrellas to be the ones you can open and close rather that the fixed ones

We have just returned from staying at the Golden Rock, this is our second stay. The hotel has all the covid measures in place, temp taken regular plenty of hand sanitised they even sanitised your bags on arrival before you take them inside. The hotel has plenty of room, good bar areas and is very clean. The restaurant is waiter service, you choose what you want but the food is behind glass and waiters serve you. This is better as you dont get, people pushing in as everyone has to queue. There was plenty of choice, and food was ok. The food was quite samey but I put those down to current situation. We have already booked for next year, this hotel is well worth a stay.

This is the first hotel review I have written but I felt that I needed to express how I felt, for a five star hotel this lacks everything you would expect, service, standards of the rooms, poor cleanliness, got unwell after I ate the fish so lost three day’s of my holiday, staff were either extremely friendly or extremely rude.
I would highly recommend lower star hotels which are significantly cheaper in price than getting ripped off in this one.
I am well travelled and maybe my expectations are high but I spent most of my holiday out of the hotel.

Just spent a week here for the fourth time this September. Emailed before we left and ask for a pool view as we have always had front or side and Nina arranged this for us...thank you. Sun beds already had towels on by 8am and beach beds was reserved for people yet 3 hours later they still had not used their beds. I complained to Nina & she came down & had a word with the guys. The hotel should enforce a towel patrol & throw them off if they are not back after an hour like other hotels. No social distancing by the pool & no entertainment like we have had in the past with Jack & his mate, some of the clientele have a lot to be desired. Drinks are shocking & no substitute for white rum, basically not worth bothering with. We know we are living in unprecedented times at the moment but found the food was very limited, only thing cooked to order was a fried egg. I asked for a ham, tomato & pepper omelette but was told i could not have one ordered, you had to have a slice off a pre-made one & Nina confirmed this, yet the next morning she said i could have one. I refused politely as i didnt want preferential treatment i expected it to be available to all guests. No cutlery or tables cleaned, it was a case of get your own from the station. We only had dinner the first night & breakfast twice & ate out for the rest of the duration. Bedroom staff i have to say kept rooms very clean though the beds are like sleeping on slabs. Pool/waiting staff quite rude & not much experience.

Staff at the Spa were always outside smoking leaving reception desk unattended, not very professional for a business.

We did contemplate using another hotel but thought as this is such a lovely hotel in an ideal location we would stay again...we should of gone with our first thought. So we are sorry to say we have exhausted this and it has failed us... we will probably never return unless it is brought back to the 5* standard it used to be.

Came here because I had so many other holiday's cancelled. Its an hour and a half drive from dalaman airport . They take your temperature at the entrance and you must wear a mask, leave your cases outside and they will disinfectant them. Rooms are nice but my air conditioner kept playing up . Location is 2 miles to marmarias and icmeler. Pool is overcrowded and you have to get up before 6am to put your towel down or the loungers round the pool are gone. The hotel also as beach site with loungers and umbrellas, same problem as pool. Beach is pebbles not sand. If you smoke you will be fine as you can smoke all round the pool and beach without interference. The pool is a free for all with kids and adults using inflatables and doing what they want and the lifeguard not bothered. The meals are repetitive and only a few changes each day. You should find something you like, but meals are cheap if you want to eat out. I would choose a quieter hotel and more space round the pool.

The hotel pays lipsevice to the pandemic by taking temperatures on entering and leaving the premises. They've stripped the furniture in the reception and pool areas of all cushions and provide no evening entertainment. On arriving at the hotel beds around the pool wre in pairs a metre and a half apart 1 deep. 4 days later every bit of space around the pool and entertainment area were crammed with sunbeds with little room approx 400mm between them. The staff who were there tried very hard and were excellent but they were only about 30 percent of what was required. Food was cold, cooked about 2 hours before mealtimes. This is definitely not a 4star+ hotel. I've been in far superior 3 star hotels. Best to visit a hotel not in the Pasa Bey group as the others were worse.

We have just arrived back after a great 10 night stay at Golden Rock.

By far the best thing about this hotel are the staff. The entertainment team are AMAZING! Special thanks to Chico, Ali, Debbie, Shirley and the rest of the team. They work tirelessly to ensure everyone has the best holiday with games and activities on from 10:15 through to 17:00. They also come round the pool all day to chat to you and make sure you’re alright.

The bar staff are also amazing. We spent quite a bit of time around the pool with my Fiancé spending most of that time going back and to between the pool bar. They made sure we were extremely well looked after the whole holiday. Special thanks to Hüseyin.

The hotel is in a good location with its own private beach with lots of sun beds and parasols. There are bars and restaurants a short walk away either out the front of the hotel or along the beach. We walked to the Grand Bazaar Market which to us felt like a bit too long of a walk in the 35°+ heat. There are buses which you can jump on outside the hotel and you can get off wherever you want to and are only 10 Turkish Lira each, this works out about 45p and I would definitely recommend if you are planning on visiting the marina.

The hotel is kept very clean with cleaners in all the communal areas and staff constantly collecting any cups from around the pool during the day. Our cleaner was amazing and made sure our room was spotless everyday with fresh bedding and towels, often arranged in different styles. This included a towel arrangement made to look like me, including one of my dresses and sunglasses which made us jump when returning to our room. The cleaner had a good laugh about this saying “it’s you”. Wish we would have got her name to give her a special mention.

The rooms could do with a bit of a spruce as there were some stains on the curtains and walls but this didn’t take away from our overall experience of the hotel.

I’d say the only negative part of the hotel is there is no courtesy room. They do offer late check out but this is an additional cost and cost us just over £50 to check out at 4pm. If you are travelling with Jet2 they offer a Dalyan departure trip which I would definitely recommend as they drop you with your luggage at a hotel in the Dalyan area after visiting turtle beach where you are given a room and evening meal. They also arrange transfers to the airport.

There are a lot more great things I could say about this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Marmaris.

We hope to return next year,
Emma and Jamie

This is an honest review considering covid 19 restrictions and the fact I've got 14 days quarantine. Originally booked the Grand Pasa but that was closed so were moved to the Golden Rock. First impressions of the outside were amazing as was the inside. Reception area is quite small but functions well enough. All staff wear face masks which is the law but all were friendly and pleasant. Also have temp taken everytime you enter the hotel so felt safe all the time. Check was quick and had a road view 5th floor again. I never get a sea view, oh how would love a sea view just for a change. Did enquire as in don't ask don't get but at the time the hotel was full. The room itself was of a good size but felt a bit basic for a 5* beds were hard could've been a bit softer and bathroom was very small. Shower wasn't working properly and called someone up who came immediately to sort it out. The guest relations manager was great if needed. Had a Turkish Bath at the Spa which was amaaazing. Had the full whack for 3 of us, can't remember the price exactly. I think it was about £75 for 2 hours of pampering and I'm a bloke haha. The restaurant had obvious restrictions on seating and food but always found a table and food wasn't as bad as some reviews in my view and quite tasty. Saying that we tended to eat out most days but that was our choice and not because of the food. Now the sunbed situation was strange of you were allowed to put a towel on a sunbed at 5 in the morning, sod that and a couple had seen a reserved sunbed at 1.30. Now thats taking the pee but sayin that we always got a sunbed somewhere and the poolside was clean. Music by the pool was at times a bit drab ballards and stuff but the guy wanted to but wasn't allowed to change the music and pump it up until the next day, he has his orders from the management I assume. Outside and inside bars were friendly and convenient. Overall I really enjoyed the holiday but probably wouldn't stay here again as the bedrooms really need an upgrade. Oh yes, and a massive hi to Aaron the jewellery guy and new found friend. He was excellent, chatty honest 👏. Offered me and my fiance some great advice and some great deals and it sorting out our wedding rings next year as were getting married in Turkey 🇹🇷

We have just returned home from the Golden Rock beach hotel after staying a week. The hotel is beautiful (more 3.5 - 4 star though but at the price what should we expect?) and spotless, and we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was also lovely and spacious but the beds are hard and we needed an extra blanket as the bedding is minimal. We really couldn’t understand why some reviews have been so harsh on the food here as we thought it was plentiful and always tasty - lovely fresh salad and different meat dishes to choose from, chips and rice every day. Not sure what people expected 🤷🏼‍♀️ The beach area was beautiful and well kept but was very difficult to get a bed there. Effes beer on tap which was absolutely fine for us as we all like beer. However, I would say that all the other alcoholic drinks were pretty terrible so couldn’t have a cocktail if we fancied it. Special shout out to the hairdressers, my partner received a Turkish shave, and I had a wash and blow dry and absolutely loved it. All in all it was a great stay and we would come back for what we paid.

Ice available at pool bar & coffee machine on counter mix your own for your preferred taste Or ask bar attendant to mix for you & deliver to your lounger to save waiting, you can place your order from pool waiters if you chose from your lounger or table
