I am here once again writing a review for this awesome resort. We have been missing everybody and the pandemic meant we have not been here for over 2 years. Our flights were cancelled 4 times through the pandemic so our holiday was postponed every time so as soon as we could get onto a flight we were here.
We have been here about 7 times in past 6 years. It was our first time in December so did not know what to expect, but we we were not bothered, we just wanted to come for the break and meet all the staff. Everyone from the reception staff to the waiters, the cleaners to the entertainment team were all so happy to see us and as always made us feel welcome. This is the reason we keep coming back
The weather was 16 degrees most days with sunshine between 10am and 4pm, which was really good for December and lovely compared to the UK. This is a family resort and if you come here you wont be disappointed.
This hotel has just gone through a major refurbishment a year ago and everything was immaculate. They had special arrangements in place because of the pandemic ie: temperature checks, hand sanitisers, signs everywhere, extra cleaning and it was spotless as always, so we felt safe.
We had great time. staff very friendly, rooms are awesome and they do connecting rooms which is brilliant as we are a family of 6. Our rooms were cleaned by house keeping daily and Rafiqa from house keeping and always did an amazing job, a lovely lady. The reception guys Aziz, Mohamed and the rest are all awesome. The managers Malika and Hassan. All the waiters in the restaurant especially Khalid and Hadji who always looks after us. These people work so hard to keep everything running smoothly.
Everyone is so friendly, it actually feels like a second home . The food is out of this world, so much choice for all of us. kids and adults you'll be amazed.
The entertainment was limited as it was off season so the water sports etc was closed, but they had Archery, Darts, and other entertainment running instead. The Spa was absolutely amazing, and the hammam is very clean. The staff are professional and very courteous . I had a Hammam , jacuzzi and a 1 hour massage which was absolutely amazing and made me feel refreshed, I got a package deal and well worth the money. Would defo recommend
The bars have a wide variety of drinks and best of all the mocktails they do are brilliant. There are slides at the hotel which were closed because it was winter season and the beach is awesome. sandy beach with blue sea.
This resort ticks all the boxes and i would highly recommend to any family with kids. Normally when we have been between April and November the full entertainment programme is on with all inclusive water sports and slides for kids.
Would definitely return , this is am awesome hotel with awesome food, and staff. Keep it up guys you are doing an amazing job!!!!!
We have already booked for our next holiday to Africana in May 2022 Inshallah (God willing) and can't wait ............

This was our first visit to Tunisia, and it won’t be our last. Every single member of staff always welcomed us with a smile, from management to the gardeners. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was always being cleaned, it was spotless. The toilets were always clean, although the soap was quite sparse and the hand towels were put on top of the dispenser rather than in it, as the hand driers didn’t work. The restaurant had something for everyone. Breakfast always had a great choice. You can eat in the restaurant or if you’d rather have a more casual lunch, the snack bar offers lots too. Dinner- Tunisian specials, roasted meat carved in front of you, in fact a lot of the food was cooked freshly infront if you ( even pizzas cooked to order!) All the bars are manned by lovely guys with a smile, and they will often offer to bring your drink to you. There are plenty of pools to choose from, and never a fight for sunbeds. The main pool always had something going on, however, if you’re like us, we preferred to relax around the adult pool, where a jacuzzi operates twice daily. You won’t be asked to join any activities there, and it’s up to you - you can be “crazy or lazy”. There is a packed itinerary for each day , and there’s something for everyone! My husband is now an accomplished archer thanks to the patience and fantastic humour of Rico,the archery coach. Entertainment staff were so good. The shows were so professional and expertly delivered. The highlight of our holiday was seeing the kids club on stage performing with the kids club staff- Charlie, Nina & Alya. It was the cutest show. The jewel in the crown was the private beach, which was manned by security all day, making you feel safe. Even camels walk along the sea front! There’s something for everyone at the Africana, a great hotel.

Really enjoying our stay at the Magic Life Africana. The only issue so far has been a slight blip in the weather, which has probably given us a much needed break from the sun! In simple terms, this hotel is clean, with extremely helpful and friendly staff. The beer is cold and perfectly acceptable, often as not served in a lovely big glass (important detail). The pool areas are great and the beach is also lovely. Water-sports are a real bonus, as I’ve never had the opportunity to indulge in water skiing for free before! We are a family of 5 and being given 2 interconnected rooms is also a major plus.
Can highly recommend the quad bike excursion. Mo is a very friendly chap and will do a great deal. My kids absolutely loved it! If we were here longer we would sample more of his treats!

Exceptional stay in this wonderful establishment. Everything was perfect. The room (902) with sea view, was always clean, the air conditioning worked well, the only thing you could hear was the sound of sea waves through the balcony.. There was a lot of activities, for all the members of my family; swimming pools, slides, archery, darts, fitness, football and kayaking (which I didn't have time to try!).. And I really appreciated their respect for safety rules during children's activities .. There was also a new show every night in an open-air amphitheater. For gastronomy, there was always a variety of dishes.. A new menu every day.. That said, the strong point of this hotel is undoubtedly the staff.. they are very friendly, always listening, ready to help.. Although the hotel was full, there was a very good atmosphere initiated by this exceptional staff.. My thoughts and thanks to all the staff.. Special thanks to: My friends Rico and Madyy from animation. Mr. Taoufik, the barman, who served us an exceptional coffee (and a mojito Blue for my daughter Yasmine..) Overall was a very good holiday, good room, ok restaurant food there is always something to eat but it could be better, though restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful, bar staff not so much if you don’t tip them. The beach is really clean and actually hotter than the pool, free water sports is a bonus and our son managed to ride the boat as he was afraid of the banana ride so thank you so much for caring. Special thanks to Bojan, Alya, Rita, Samira, Lauren, Rahma, Thouraya our HK did an amazing job and the boat captain for being so kind to our son. We did not interact with entertainment except for mini disco but if our teenager son was with us he will certainly enjoy it. The evening show was good quality except for the sounds can be extremely loud for family with kids but this got rectified when I did mention this to them. This was one of the best Tunisian holiday.

Overall all experience was very good . First of all facilities and space are beautiful, it is well maintained. Rooms need a bit of TLC , but still are very good , but most important is staff .All of them makes this place so much better , as we say it is all about people . They all were great starting with Theraya, our housekeeper , she was doing great job . Also man who was refilling mini fridges , not sure what was his name . Massive thank you to Omar as our son wouldn’t ride on Banana and he got a ride on the boat . Kids club was great even our son didn’t attend , but when they saw us they were trying to interact it was very nice of them , specially Bojan and Alya. Also I have to mention about diversity of team ,loved it ! Entertainment team was great , we hadn’t seen all shows , but the ones we saw we liked and more over our child was watching it and enjoying it. Great catering team ,can’t name anyone in particular as all of them were brilliant, they even noticed that we were not there for couple of days as we went south of Tunisia to desert and were asking if we were ok, because didn’t turn up for dinners and breakfast. It was very nice of them . All kitchen staff also was brilliant,hard work and effort they put in to it . The food is different, but it is good to try something new also there are a lot of choices , even if your child is picky you always can find something they would eat (pasta and pizza is available every lunch and dinner) . Some days there are more variety some days less , I believe they cook smart way according to occupancy of hotel .I will attach pictures of food . Security was also brilliant on the beach , they looked after everyone, so no one would be bothered by people selling souvenirs on the beach . The only downside that I have noticed is parasailing, it is not safe at all and they dropped few people in deep water , they had some problems with boat .eventually they got people out of water , but it was stressful and it happened few times as we watched them . But they are not part of hotel !!! So be aware ! There are wonderful activities available from the hotel like kayaking , surfing and catamaran and great team is there to help as well ! But as we say picture is worth a thousand words so I will attach few.

I'm half way through a fortnight's holiday here, and there are two things that really stand out, 1st is that it's barely occupied, I'm surprised it's economical to keep it open. The 2nd thing is how amazing the food is, the variety and quality are exceptional. The hotel itself is very good, spacious, very clean, well maintained (for its age), great location right on the beach. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Onto the down sides - what should be the beating heart of the hotel, the spacious, modern, and inviting Wunderbar is closed, with the small, old fashioned cafe bar open instead. I think this is a mistake as I'm sure more people would use the Wunderbar than do the cafe bar. Also the a la carte restaurants seem to be a bit hit and miss, with reservations being cancelled and locations changing. The towel station is also closed, the app says get one from the indoor pool during poor weather, but even then they say go to reception. Of the couple of things I've raised to staff, they've been very quick to sort the issues. So, overall I'm looking forward to my second week, I just wish the main bar was open.

We changed the Wunderbar to the Coffee House during the winter season, as it is more cosy, when few guests are in the club. We had a good family time. The staff was friendly.
Kids enjoyed a lot their holidays within the kids/mini Clubs thanks to Mila, Chayma, Tati and Hakim.
We also would like to highlight the cleaning ladies doing a great job for the rooms (SaiĂŻda) and also Ahmed was helpful in the restaurant.
The mini disco was nice and the night show exceed customer's expectations with very talented artists : Gloria (Singer) + Dancers from Brazil and South africa.
Suggestion for improvements : Pillows and somehow less crowded restaurant.

Myself and 3 friends returned from the hotel tui magic life africana just over a week ago firstly I like to say a big thankyou to Latifa - Hedi and Ozer (tui rep) for the support and help during the the unfortunate event of one of our friends that needed to stay in the Polyclinic for a few day's they were there to help translate and liaising with the clinic on our behalf they are a credit to the hotel. The hotel rooms are of a good size and beds comfortable, within the rooms you have tea/coffee/kettle facilities, in room safe, also a fridge with water/soft drinks the toilet and shower are separate. All the staff were friendly and polite, the snack bar was nice and again staff friendly. The beach was fine sea rough and pool's cold there is a heated pool by the a la cartes, we did try these and enjoyed them service was good. I have put this hotel on my return hotel list.

We have just arrived back from Africana after spending a week there, 2 x adults & 2 x children age 4&7. It was around 33-35 degrees each day but headed to 38 on our last day.
Having massive holiday blues, this really was the most amazing holiday. We met some lovely people both other visitors & staff. The kids club staff were brilliant, all staff in the hotel were great, happy, couldn’t do enough for you. Our room was beautiful, always cleaned to a good standard.
Didn’t really have too much to do with the entertainment so can’t comment too much on that. The amphitheater is outside the hotel with no bar which we thought was a little odd, so we stuck with the Captain Bar for Mini Disco.
We tipped a few staff, waiter, cleaner, bar staff 10 dinar (£2.50ish) and it’s incredible how appreciative they are and go out of their way to then make everything perfect, well worth doing I would say.
Good selection of pools, had to get up at 6 to get a decent sun bed spot but that’s ok, if you aren’t fussed where you go there’s always lots available.
Beautiful beach, lots of jellyfish in the sea currently. We did parasailing which was incredible and went on the banana boat. There were so many activities to do on the beach.
We went on a camel ride from a man that comes around the hotel, that was good and would recommend but take hats and lots of cream as it’s very hot! Takes around 1 1/2hr in total.
Food was great, good selection. We have children that can’t eat gluten and the kitchen prepared fresh meals for them when asked.
I did get bitten quite a bit so take lots of mosquito spray.
This hotel is meant to be 5* but having visited 5* hotels in Turkey I would say this one is more like a 4* due to general cleanliness of the grounds, broken bits around the pool.
Overall I would definitely recommend, would 100% return if we didn’t try and go somewhere different each time.
