Before I start this review, I would like to say that my husband and I are fairly easy to please and are happy to make do with something as long as it is comfortable... We got a last minute deal for one night to kfar hamaccabia and one of the main reasons we chose it was because it advertises having an indoor pool. Check-in was fine. The rooms are fairly old and basic but fine. I found it strange that not only is there very limited signage around the hotel showing you where things are, but there wasn't even an Information sheet in the bedroom explaining where things were in the hotel. When I asked at the front desk where the pool was, I was told it was out of the hotel... In the same complex but actually a pool open to the public as it was part of the maccabia complex (I had passed it as I drove towards the hotel, and was full of screaming kids). I was also told I would have to pay a deposit in order to use the pool to make sure I returned the towels or something. I chose not to go through the hassle of using the pool in the end.
I had a coffee in the hotel lobby on Thursday evening before we went out, at about 7pm, the button on the table to call the waiter didn't appear to work. When the waitress finally came like 20 minutes later, she didn't bring me a menu. There was only one waitress who seemed to be serving a very busy lobby and therefore it took another age to receive the coffee and then get the bill. In the room, although the bed was comfortable, it was a twin bed pushed together with two separate sets of single sheets despite being advertised as a double. On Friday morning we were woken up before 7am to construction work right outside our window in another part of the hotel which was very frustrating. The breakfast was tasty and varied but the coffee was from a coffee machine and not very tasty at all. All in all the stay was very average and the thing that mainly shocked me was that my husband asked me to not book this hotel next time as he very rarely has a negative opinion on things. I think they need to try and give the hotel a bit of an overhaul.... Simple touches are needed like signs showing where the dining room is, more attention to detail and service etc

Dear Laura, We appreciate your candid feedback and for taking the time to write your review. On behalf of the hotel, please accept my apologies for any dissatisfaction you and your family experienced during your visit. Kfar Maccabiah Hotel & Suites is nestled on 22 acres of beautiful grounds. Part of our facilities includes the Kfar Maccabiah Sports club which has 5 swimming pools -- 2 of them suitable for year-round use, a fitness center, basketball courts, tennis courts and more. This is a private club and exclusive to hotel guests and club members. The deposit you are referencing is to receive the "entry/towel cards" - which are needed in order to enter the sports club. This deposit is immediately credited back to you when you return the cards at check out. So sorry you opted not to enter and use the facilities -- you definitely would have enjoyed them. I have shared your mention of the lengthy time you waited in the lobby for your coffee with the appropriate manager - as this is not on par with the level of service we are accustomed to sharing with our guests. We will certainly address all your concerns with our team moving forward and do hope you give us another opportunity to share a more positive experience with you again in the future.

I mainly chose the hotel for being close to the airport - and for having a fitness club nearby. Upon arrival I got upgraded to a suite. It was a very nice, clean and tremendously spacious suite with a toilet, a bathroom (with bath and shower) and a bedroom. Oh, I forgot the balcony! Loverly view over Tel Aviv. The receptionist was extremely helpful and nice. The fitness club - in a separate building - was included, unfortunately closing at 6 PM due to sabbath., so I could not explore it all. The breakfast buffet was ample with fresh fruits and a wealth of choices (fresh and cooked). The only little minus I could find is that due to sabbath the coffee machines were switched of and we had to do with powered coffee. I do not know the official number of stars, but I would give it 5. Too bad I could stay only one night...

Dear Nicole, On behalf of our hotel and staff, thank you for taking the time to leave a positive review. We’re especially glad you enjoyed our location. It is also great to hear that we were able to offer you an upgrade; that you found your room was large and nicely appointed and that our staff was helpful & able to assist with your needs. We do have an amazing fitness center and hopefully on your next visit (should it be during the week - we stay open til 11 PM) you will be able to have a chance to check it out. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

Great hotel, and the facilities for confernce but also with the athletic club attached to be able to enjoy outdoor indoor pool and fitness center would be great to vacation with family. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel has great options for rooms and from where it is located you can easily do day trips to Jerusalem Jaffa and many other sites and is located just outside Tel Aviv but is also very close to the Airport so for business meetings great location

Front desk staff are RUDE! There was a house of juvenile delinquent blasting music at 2am inside one of the suites. Called the reception, nothing happened for 15mins. Called again, finding an unhelpful and disgruntled sounding receptionist name Rina. Saying that she cannot leave her post (which I understand) and need to wait for the security guard. I explained I have a baby in the room and the loud music/shouting is waking her up. Rina didn't seem to care. The worst thing was, after the security guard went to stop the party, 'someone' called our room, had the phone ringing, woke my baby, nothing said and hung up!

My advice for the staff at Kfar Macabbiah is - if you don't have the right attitude, please do not work in the hospitality field!

To all guests traveling from far and near, it's not worth the stress by staying here.

The hotel is badly in need of a refresh

The suites are new but the hotel has been left to decay. It is now very scruffy. Paintwork is a mess, corridors smell of deodorant and cigarette smoke and have filthy carpets, the furniture in my room was barely acceptable, there were half-used shower gels and body lotions left in my bathroom, and the WiFi is intermittent. I came to Kfar Maccabiah many times in the past and it has a great location and great facilities - but the owners need to put some investment into the hotel rooms.

Breakfast remains superb

Stayed here as it was the closest to the conference I was attending and recommended by a colleague ;Never ever again. Yes the rooms are big but terribly outdated. Their is so much noise in the two nights I stayed there I literally never slept (a wedding one night then neighbors who were so noisy i could literally hear every word from the floor above). Bedding terribly uncomfrotable which was not a help. The service is deplorable, you feel like they are doing you a favor (and yet the price tag is very high). Got there, basically treated terribly, the bar we waited 30m to get our order in (and its the only restaurant). My Israeli sister in law had to go and yell for someone to take an order. It came piece by piece so no one at at the same time and by the time i was finished she had barely gotten hers. Then problems at check out with overcharging, Frankly never had such a bad experience anywhere in Israel.

I came almost 30 years ago for the first time to stay in the Kfar Maccabiah. The hotel has nothing lost as to its unique charm and convenience. The location is top, Tel Aviv can easily be reached but this hotel is so much quieter and peaceful.
I appreciated the help of the manager in getting a room cancelled due to a delay in arrival of part of the family.
All staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and the view is breathtaking.

Great first night in TLV, 20 minumtes from the airport. Staff was very friendly. The suite had more than enough storage space with a shower and full tub. It was nicde to be able to wake up early and use the desk without disturbing my wife in the other room.

Rooms are comfortable, though worn. Located in a reasonably quiet suburb
The breakfast has good choice. The coffee machine is good
I did not manage to operate heating properly or it did not work.
The linen is low quality, could have been smoother for the price of the hotel.
The night receptionist could not call taxi because she did not have the application.
The bar could have had better choice of drinks.

Had to spend a night here due to an early start at the airport. Room was ok and was clean, but a bit dated. Bed comfy. Seems to be a bit of a resort hotel, but as I was just an overnight traveller, I didn’t use the facilities.

Sports bar staff had a horrendous attitude, complaining about empty glasses not being returned. Service there wasn’t great. However the salads from the bar menu were epic - large portions and very tasty.

Would come back here if I had to, but wouldn’t be first choice.
