Perfect location only 15 minutes from the airport. It’s right on the beach and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The pool is gorgeous, delicious drinks at swim up bar. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The daily breakfast that was included had a huge selection of food. Would highly recommend! We will stay again next time in Bali!

Had 3 days at the hotel very central and having a shopping centre next door. Staff very friendly rooms large and clean breakfast had many choices. My only issue was the pool could not stand up even on tippy toes. Very deep had to walk around the ledge asked if they had noodles to use at least to keep you from sinking.l could buy one for $23.00. Would be a good idea when you sign out your towel you can use a noodle. There is a child’s pool not really suitable for adults. That’s my only negative.

The hotel is so huge, when we came to DKPH, the lobby is being renovated, so they reallocate the front desk to the back side of hotel. You have to go a bit far to the back area.
The staffs are very polite and attentive. We have the room facing to the garden on the third floor.
The room is age but well maintained. Furniture is look old, however the cleanliness is good.
The breakfast serves buffet, but it is very limited and they called lite breakfast. It doesn’t represent the 5 stars of the hotel.
The swimming pool is huge and clean. The best overall.

The first time I entered the hotel area, the atmosphere of Bali and a 5-star hotel was felt. The ornaments in the lobby area impress a hotel that is quite old, but still well preserved. Once we enter the lobby area, you can see the beautiful Kuta beach from inside the hotel. The hotel is directly connected to Kuta beach, so we can enjoy breakfast or lunch at the hotel's restaurant with a very beautiful beach view.
The rooms are quite spacious and very comfortable, and well maintained. There are TV, freezer, wardrobe and bathroom amenities. The drawback was the small size of the TV available in the room, which is not comparable to the class of the hotel. The wifi is smooth. The swimming pool is quite spacious and clean. You can immediately walk down the beach from this hotel, and it is connected to Discovery Shopping Mall.
Breakfast was quite varied, even in covid-19 pandemic conditions. You can also choose a room facing the pool and beach, or facing the garden if you want quiet room. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel.

Last night mum and I went for a seafood buffet st Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, the hotel and grounds in itself is nice, it boasts 5 star but I beg to differ and think more of a 4, all though pricing reflects on their star rating.
the seafood buffet looked great but was average taste wise, some of the grilled seafood all tasted the same and over cooked, a shame really.
the sweets looked great, but mum said they were average and has had better at corner cake shops.
my lychee iced tea was refreshing, and tasted kinda nice with the added bee embedded in my ice cube 😂😂😂
all in all, I would give it a 4 out of 10 and that's only because the staff were so attentive.

This resort is currently undergoing renovations and so there is construction noise everywhere. We have found out that this resort has been provided a government grant to upgrade the resort in preparation of the G20 but to receive the payment grant the renovations must be completed by a certain time. Management and staff are apologetic and embarrassed but cannot do anything as it is the owners who have made the decision to allow the construction work while allowing guests to stay and have left it to the Management and staff to put up with the complaints. We found out that the owners have let the workers work from 8am to 11pm and if they don't finish the workers don't get paid. The owners originally wanted 24/7 construction so it is obvious the owners are arrogant and do not care about guests. Construction is to the Pond restaurant and main entry but also includes balconies. Due to the Pond restaurant being closed, the buffet breakfast is held at the Sokube restaurant but if the weather is bad it is held in the windowless boardroom. This is such a beautiful resort and the whole management and staff are so friendly and professional. The owners should have closed the resort during the renovations but obviously just do not care about their guests, the resort staff or the resort reputation. Please be cautious of other reviews which do not mention the renovations and are obviously a review sponsored by the resort.

I recently stayed here for 2 weeks, the first week was a girls trip and the second with my hubby. Everything is taken care of with spacious and comfortable rooms, a wonderful range of restaurants so you don’t need to leave the resort if you wish, an AMAZING pool with swim up bar PLUS beautiful and professional staff who look after you like family. The breakfast buffet is outstanding with a wide range of dishes but you must stop by the cafe for their yummy cakes 🍰 Relax by the pool and enjoy the sunset 😎 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 star all the way

We enjoyed our stay at the Discovery Kartika Plaza. It is a huge hotel that is grand, and the grounds well looked after. We asked to change rooms after the first night as our garden room view was not that inspiring, and the hotel was happy to oblige when we asked to be moved. We were then placed in a room on level 4 with a partial sea view, quite close to the lobby and breakfast and we found that room was in a quiet location. Rooms are tidy and clean - when we arrived there were no drinks in the mini bar. That is for you to stock up. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of options. It is lovely sitting out of the front of the hotel watching the sun go down - there is, however, music every night so you may want to think about where you want your room to be as the right-wing rooms closer to the beach would hear the noise from the music. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and accommodating and were happy to help in any way. We didn't use the spa service as we found the prices very expensive. I was a little apprehensive about staying here after reading some earlier reviews but was pleasantly surprised. I would be happy to stay at this hotel again in the future.

Great hotel, 5 star level, we stayed in a Discovery Suite which was an excellent choice for a family with 2 large bedrooms, extra bed available for kids room, large living area and balcony. We were lucky to have ocean views. The bathrooms were a little worn / past their prime but cleaned and we were happy to have 2.5 bathrooms / 3 toilets for our family. Excellent buffet breakfast the kids loved. Great pool and large spacious grounds with plenty of room to spread out. Love the koi pond. You can hire floats at the pool for $7.50 aud for 2 hours my kids enjoyed this. The only thing we did not like was the beachfront restaurant plays loud live music until 10pm most nights. If this would bother you maybe ask for a room at the back but then you don’t get the amazing views ! There was a wedding on one night and we were given notice about possible noise but honestly we found the wedding quieter than the usual restaurant music, and not a problem at all. The hotels spa is a little expensive but there are many other options within walking distance. Great location on beach path which is good for morning jogging, many shops and restaurants and waterbom park all in walking distance. We would definitely stay again.

We visited Bali and stayed at the Discover Kartika Plaza, it was the best thing about Bali. The customer service was second to none and staff were amazing. Particuarl shout out to the executive chef Ketut who catered for all our dietary requirements.

Hi Margaret,
We stayed in July before the major renovations took place. The noise from functions held in front of our room was unbearable. The functions were held late into the night and one was organised at 6.00am in the morning with loud speakers blaring music which not only prevented sleep but also vibrated our room making it quite uncomfortable and raised our blood pressure to unacceptable levels. Management was not able to promise that this type of function was a one off event and instead moved us to a villa away from the noise for our last couple of days. You should check if any major events are being held during your planned stay. If there is, I would avoid staying at all costs. If they can guarantee there will be no excessive noise from functions, then it will be up to you to decide. After staying here for 20 years, we won't be returning again as we would never want to repeat this experience.
There are more places to choose from in the Kuta area.
