When we travel we prefer to stay in cabins instead of hotels when possible, we just like the rustic feel of them. We chose a premium cabin at the HIGH COUNTRY LODGE in Alto, NM for this trip. Most of the time we travel with our dog and there was plenty of room for her to enjoy

the cabin reeked of urine. Carpets and furniture heavily soiled and stained. Kitchen was disgustingly unsanitary. Dirt walls, stove not cleaned. Bathroom walls were patched over. The sink did not drain. Lamps with no shades. Furniture from 1960. We slept in our car!

High Country Lodge is under new ownership. All cabins have been deep cleaned and the product is now constantly updated and a routine maintenance schedule has been instituted. Thank you for this feed back, as it helps us zero in on specific issues.
