My previous stay at this hotel was in 2016, at that time hotel was new and provided good service. This time he hotel was just 3 staffs and few rooms. Rstaurants were not functional, room didnt have essential kits, remote not working etc etc. The price were too high and the room they claimed to be premium, but didnt have towels, unable to unlock safe locker, no battery in remote, credit card payment not working and didnt provide any receit for cash paid. The only person available in the hotel tried his best to sort out the issues, but it was not worth spending this much money for poor facilities.
The hotel is in good location and have potential to be a good hotel if the services are resumed and properly trained staffing levels improved.

I happened to stay at Chrsoberyl yesterday and the place looked deserted and empty. I felt like as if I was only person in the hotel and felt really eerie..What made it worse was the hotel management switched of all the lights in the corridor and on stairs, thereby creating a very dull and gloomy atmosphere. On many floors the lights on even the corridors were switched off, never experienced such thing before. Even the lights on the emergency stairs were switched off, what if there was an emergency??To sum it up, the entire hotel was deserted and to me it turned out to be a very scary experience. This review is not a reflection on the staff, as they were polite and helpful. I personally don’t think the place is worth the hefty amount they charge the customers. The hotel seemed to have embarked on a severe cost cutting excercise and that seemed to have rubbed off on the quality of service that is offered. For ex, there was not bottled water provided, went to restaurant for dinner and the lights were switched off, very weird!!! I wish them all the best.

The ambience and rooftop pool is amazing. And the rooms were clean and well kept.
The staff was very friendly and helpful during out stay.
Would defenitely recommend the place to others and would love to come back here the next time I'm in town.

We had selected Chrysoberyl for my Engagement on 3rd Jan 2015. The function was at noon and the hall on the second floor was used for the function. The hall was well arranged and the stage was adequately decorated. Guests number was intimated to the hotel management two weeks in advance and the final tally was 50 people less than the intimated number. Buffet was arranged on both 2nd and 7th floors. Mutton biryani was the main course and none of the guests were served properly. The staff was frugal in serving the mutton pieces. Only rice was served for several guests. People who asked for more were stared upon by the hotel staff and their conduct was unprofessional. The counters were closed before the guests could complete the meal and deserts (cake with plain vanilla ice cream) were not served to many citing it was over. Tissue papers were out of stock, same was the case with liquid soap and the tissue at the wash area. It was a humiliating experience for us as we had invited our close family and friends for the function. I had to personally call every guest and apologize for the inconvenience. Hotel had charged heavily for this pathetic service and the service quality was dismal. I hope people read this review before taking a decision to book this "Luxury Business class hotel" for any function.

I have no idea who wrote the previous glowing reviews but they are not worth a penny. This is a relatively new (six months old) hotel and with every complaint the staff remind you of that... My complaints include no wifi in the rooms (no ethernet port either) because wifi was broken, being kicked out of a 24 hour coffee shop because they are closing (??, also no coffee served late at night), instant coffee for breakfast, no eggs being available for breakfast one morning (only after pushing hard the staff managed to find them), airconditioning in lobby breaking, internet failing (wifi in lobby), 30 minutes checkout procedure with no other guests checking out. Basically a disaster of a hotel from a practical point of view. The only good thing: clean rooms and bathrooms.

It was very bad experience for me. Infrastructure is good but service and staff is very bad. We went to restaurant and waited for 20 minutes but none came and took order only one other table was occupied.then we went to reception and told them but they were looking at us like they don't understand what we are saying.very bad staff and service

Dear Guest, We are always ready to accept the error and appreciation about us, if it is genuine. We have investigate about all the scenario you have mentioned about us. We have never had an incident like this none of our guest is dishonored. No one complaint about they we not attended for 20 minutes even in the Front Desk. We had a guest on the same day who walked out due the rates are high for him. You could get cheaper food in lower hotels with lower rates. Your concern was clearly told to the restaurants staffs that the rates are high and walked out with out saying anything. You were in the restaurant only for 5 minutes not for 20. If no body attended the table then how could you demand hot water when we served normal water to your table. And again you have asked for boiled water when the lukewarm water served. So its clear that the people at the restaurant have come to you three times in that 5 minutes. Any body can write anything in this wall, but please don't take it as granted. My marriage was on october and I had a plan to arrange for my fiancee to take a room with her family and relatives here as well as to conduct the reception here.But I was not happy with the rooms,the auditorium so small and congested.There was no much recipes as well as overpriced.Since I am from this place I would not recommend this for any travellers.

The hotel was deserted with almost no occupancy. The restaurant was pathetic. Many items on the menu were not available and we were compelled to stick to what was available. The buffet breakfast was with no variety and the restaurant even did not offer hot fresh items. Food was also too spicy. On 30th night, I went outside to procure food for my two year old son. In the end, we cut short our visit by a day and returned back. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We booked Hotel Chrysoberyl on November, 2015 for our company's Manager's meet on 14-12-2015. We had informed hotel the number of participants(45) two weeks back. The meeting started at 9 am and we took break for lunch at 1.45 pm. Then the real problem started. We had ordered 2 non veg buffet for the function. Staff were giving small quantities of food to the guests. After serving for 15 persons food was empty and when enquired the staff told that food is on the way from kitchen. The food arrived after 20 mintues and most of the guests left without having food. A small restaurant could manage to serve 45 people but this five star hotel could not manage after booking 2 weeks prior. Staff were behaving very rude to us. I am shocked how this hotel got 5 star rating. It was such a humiliation for our guests and company. We will never choose this hotel with such inefficient staff and poor management in future.

We booked this place as a stopover on our way to Thekkady. This is a good business hotel. Check in was efficient. Very friendly lady at the reception. Rooms are big and beds are comfortable. It is easy to get into town with a motorized riksja. Buffet breakfast was good. Restaurant was a bit disappointing. Not because of the food but because a lack of ambience.
