Hotel Cucuve is located in a central area of Puerto Ayora and it is an easy walk to the marina/port area, water taxis, numerous tour operators, attractions, and restaurants. We stayed 4 nights in March 2024 and have nothing negative to say. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The included breakfast provides a good start to the day. The rooms and common areas were clean and refreshed daily. Although the common areas and lobby are open air, the rooms have A/C that will keep you cool.

I chose to stay with my wife at Cucuve for 3 nights based on TD reviews and it was our best decision!
During check in I was kidding with Ana that the bar was set very high in Trip Advisor and she would have a big challenge to keep it that good. She nicely told me they would do their best to meet our expectations.
Well, all I can say is they did it!!

We got the suite with balcony and every little detail was perfect. Bed, pillows, amenities, black out curtains, shower, hair dryer, safe, Tv, A/C, chocolates every day after cleaning the room. Beach towels available, flavored water to receive us after a day in the beach or touring the island.
Ana helped us a lot with our itinerary, precious advice, helped us to find a great restaurant for NYE in the last minutes.
Even for our days in San Cristobal she helped and suggested tours and what to do there. Awesome!

Confort: 10!
Service: 10!
Location: 10!
Value for money: 10!
Whatever you think of: 10!

Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The hotel is walking distance to restaurants and several tourist shops, as well as the water. They provide a small pitcher of water and a glass in your room, and there is a place to refill the water in the breakfast area. Concerning ADA, as soon as you enter the hotel you go up one flight of stairs to the lobby. The hotel provides a robe and slippers, as well as a tote bag and water bottle. They provide an airport transfer (for a fee) and also provide detailed instructions on navigating the entry requirements for the Galapagos, which was a life saver. There is laundry across the street as well as a convenience store a couple of buildings away. Overall this is a fantastic hotel and I would stay there again.

We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon. The hotel is new, modern and very clean. The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. Ana at the front desk was great and helpful. The chef was also very sweet and helpful, and made a beautiful breakfast spread each morning, including fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice. The location is excellent- right in the heart of Puerto Ayora within easy walking distance of all the restaurants and the tour agencies. We loved this hotel and would definitely stay there again!

The suite is really nice, with a central location. Service is good. The rooms are well prepared and the best part is that they have slippers in the room (which is not common to see in Galapagos, at least according to my experiences). The snacks and breakfast are also great.

What an amazing hotel in Santa Cruz! If you’re passing through this is a true treasure find. Our fishing Captain Nicolas Schiess recommended this beautiful hotel to us and we are forever grateful!
I’m a picky girl when it comes to my bedding. Our bedding was to perfection from the sheets to the mattress and the pillows were the very best. The lobby was always spotless with Anna to greet you with a big smile and a warm welcome! In the morning we had to leave earlier because we were fishing and the wonderful chef was there to greet us with coffee and tea fruits and bread omelettes to order! The food was over the top delicious! The bonus was they did my laundry.
This will be my mainstay every time I go fishing in Santa Cruz. The location is fabulous for shopping, restaurants and the marina. Thanks Nicolas Schiess for the fabulous recommendation.
Big smile, Cindi Baird

This hotel having Swiss roots offers a great location a European flair easy walking access to everything and has the best service . If you are doing a do-it-yourself vacation , Anna the hotel manager can arrange the best tours . We had a bay tour featuring snorkeling nature walk and a trip to an inland gorge. The next day with our guide Fausto we rode a catamaran to swim with sea lions saw killer whales from the boat snorkeled along the coast and had a guided tour of an uninhabited island. The last day we went to Tortuga bay for an amazing beach the went upland to walk with giant tortoises and visited a coffee and sugar making operation. These were all arranged from the front desk thanks to Anna . Wonderful hotel great service great breakfasts and great location. Look no further!

We spent 5 nights in this lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Puerto Ayora, the main town in the Galápagos Islands. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel is small, only 7 rooms, and it’s really very comfortable. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the air conditioning is efficient and silent. The service is beyond impeccable: the employees are very kind, friendly, efficient and always prepared to assist their guests. The location is perfect: a short walk from the harbor and very near the most popular restaurants, shopping and attractions. A real gem!

Me and partner booked Hotel Cucuve for our 5 day trip to the Galapagos and it exceeded our expectations! We were worried becuase we have heard how run down and smelly can be the hotels in Puerto Ayora, so we decided to book Cucuve since we read the reviews about how well kept it was, and we nailed it!

The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are very spacious, extremely clean and they looked new. However, the best part of our stay was the service. Ana and Shania at the frond desk are just incredible, they are willing to help with anything you need. Christian was the chef those days and I can tell that breakfast was delicious, you need to eat a lot for all the activities that are waiting for you.

If I ever go back to the Galapagos, I would definetly stay here agin. Thank you guys for everything!

This was a fabulous stay at Hotel Cucuve Galapagos! We stayed here for 1 week, and always looked forward to coming back to our room after a day of adventures.

We always looked forward to the breakfasts, including eggs, various cheeses, yogurt, and of course, self serve coffee.

Staff made our stay extra special as well, including Hanna and Christian.

So many great things within walking distance, including the Fisherman’s Wharf where you can watch seals, Frigate birds, and Pelicans wait for fish scraps. We also walked to the Charles Darwin Research Station; the docks to see seals sleeping on benches and baby sharks swimming in the lit waters; Tortuga Bay; and many great restaurants and souvenir shopping. Many great memories!

They also provided dark chocolate in our rooms every day, which I enjoyed, and free water bottles.

It’s about 45 min. You have to take a shuttle bus to the Baltra ferry, then a 2 min boat ride to Santa Cruz (it may not even be 2 min, if you’re in shape you could probably swim it...), and the get a taxi to Puerto Ayora. It takes a little while, but the drive is super nice through the mountains, you may even get to see some tortoises along the road! Happy travels!
