Harrah's Resort Atlantic City seems to be a mixed bag for guests, with many experiencing frustration over the cleanliness and datedness of rooms, including unpleasant smoke smells. Issues with room availability and housekeeping service have been called out by some travelers. In terms of value, the resort has been criticized for not meeting expectations, with hidden fees and mandatory surcharges adding to guests' dissatisfaction. Service often appears slow and disorganized, leading to check-in delays and other inconveniences. Additionally, the extra charges for amenities like the pool have left many feeling underwhelmed.

The good: Check-in was fast and friendly, though the room we booked online was unavailable and they had to move us to a room in a different tower (not a big deal). Parking was only $10 for the duration of our stay, but you need to make sure you add a parking pass to your reservation because otherwise they will charge you every time you leave/enter the parking garage. This hotel is pet friendly. There is a nice view of the marina from the water view rooms and a nice walking trail along the marina. There are good drinks on the casino floor. The shower itself was pretty clean and there were plenty of towels.

There bad: The room itself looked decent at first, but after looking closer, it was pretty dirty. We always check for bugs in hotel rooms and thankfully there weren’t any. However, upon lifting off the sheets to check the bed, we saw nasty reddish brown stains all over the mattress cover on one of the beds. It looked like, food or vomit. It was such a large stain that I don’t know how housekeeping didn’t notice it if they really changed the sheets. There were brown stains on one of the sheets, as well. I don’t think they washed the sheets and duvet covers between guests. We couldn’t use that bed because of how nasty it was.

The cleaner bed still had a gross yellow stain on the duvet cover, as well as some dark stains that looked like ink. Thankfully I brought my own pillow and blanket from home. Both chairs in the room had a lot of visible food crumbs on them, as well.

The room itself wasn’t cleaned well, either, because there was confetti on the floor next to and behind the bed from a previous guest, as well as a cookie wrapper that someone had left. We kept tracking confetti all over the room because it stuck to our socks/slippers as we walked. It seemed like the floor either was not vacuumed or was vacuumed poorly. There was dust on the outlets and sink rim in the bathroom, and dirt and hair on the floor next to the trash can in the bathroom.

I’ve stayed at other Caesars properties in Las Vegas, and the rooms were always clean and well kept, unlike this one.

The other issue we had was that there is no microwave in the room. It’s like they want you to eat out every meal and not take any leftovers so you spend more money. The food is quite expensive and there are very few gluten free options in this hotel (gluten free buns at one of the burger shops at about $20 for a burger, fries not included) unless you want to spend $30-$80+ for steak or seafood at one of the nicer restaurants and not take any leftovers with you since you can’t reheat them. That would obviously get expensive if you have to do that 2 or 3 times a day.

Overall (mainly due to the filthiness of our room), I wouldn’t recommend staying at Harrah’s Atlantic City.

As pretty frequent travelers to Atlantic city of late it is disappointing to have to write a review such as this but perhaps it will serve as info they can use to improve. Firstly, we arrived early. I was not feeling that well and we attempted to check in early only to be told there was a 30 dollar fee to do so!! It is one thing if rooms are not ready but to charge patrons to check in early just seemed ludicrous and counterintuitive. In other Atlantic city hotels this has never been the case and we have checked in early elsewhere numerous times. We then decided to play a little in the casino to pass a little time and we were harassed/panhandled by a man on the casino floor who asked us to "share the wealth" Needless to say it did give us pause regarding safety but being New Yorkers we are sort of accustomed but disconcerting nonetheless

Perhaps the most disturbing part of our stay and really the impetus for this review was that the parking garage was a nightmare. Every time we tried to leave it would not read the players card which entitles you to free parking. We had to hit the help button every single time and then wait for someone to come, and since we had a lot of activities planned we were in and out a lot. The worst of it was the day we left we were trapped in the parking garage. The card did not work and repeated calls in to the desk and security yielded zero results. We asked to speak to a manager and were told "the managers do not take phone calls" (huh?) We are both professionals in management and the concept of a manager not accepting a phone call is very foreign to us so we were perplexed by this. Many many cars were backed up trapped and unable to get out. We were told (as well as others in the garage) that security was on the way but they never came. In the end we ended up being forced to pay $20 to get out of the lot and even that did not work the first 2 times we tried. This was a very terrifying position to be in and find that to be unacceptable of a hotel as large as Harrahs who you would expect to have their operations beyond reproach.

I do want to say that there were a few good points;

Very clean hotel

Beds were extremely comfortable

Most of the staff very very friendly especially by the pool

Pool area is amazing but $20 per person if you are staying there is a bit much

There is a huge variety of places to eat.

The hotel and staff were nice however when we checked into our room on Saturday evening it was very dirty , it looked like it hadn’t been occupied in years . The carpets were filthy & The amount of dust , rust and broken furniture was disheartening . We changed and headed to our event and when we returned We requested a room change but it wasn’t avail because the hotel was completely sold out. We asked to have our room cleaned and was told it was too late and we would have to wait until morning. I asked for cleaning supplies and was told they would be delivered to our room but they never were. The next morning we called housekeeping to have our room cleaned and was told someone would be up within the hour , no one ever came but we did receive a call asking if things were better , we told them no one ever came and that was it. I eventually found a housekeeping cart and asked for rags and spray so I could clean the bathroom myself . The WiFi did not work so we had very poor reception the entire time. The space , layout , price point and staff worked well but the lack of basic cleaning & sanitation has completely turned us off. We will not be returning.

Both day time and night time we saw numerous large roaches around the pool. I get things happen but when you’re spending thousands on bottle service, or hanging out at the pool after paying $10-20 per person to access the pool the last thing you want is a roach on you… which yes it did happen and was extremely gross. Nothing luxury or relaxing about that.

Many great staff members throughout the resort BUT also Quite a bit of staff throughout that were more than rude and seemed very annoyed at any interaction. Extremely frustrating when hoping for and definitely paying for a good experience with the beyond marked up prices.

At the pool: Many bartenders and servers are extremely nice, but the security team is extremely unprofessional and rude. After being falsely accused of insulting someone by a random person who was clearly starting issues with random groups of people(not just us) the response from security was to ask if I should be escorted to my room? Not even look into what this person was saying, not the fact that I had never even been where this person was saying the issue occurred? Or even the fact that we had spent quite a bit of money on bottle service here and were polite and friendly with everyone to the point where other staff and bartenders were basically friends at the end of the night… still the security guard’s first response is to say to escort me back to my room? I don’t think Borgata, Ocean resort or any other casino treats their “vip” customers this way… nor has roaches at the vip tables or at the pool..
Needless to say we’ll take our business there next time instead.

Absolutely looking forward to staying at the Borgata or Ocean resort next time as the few days at Harrahs were definitely a waste of money and even frustrating at time.

Bring Bleach, Lysol Disinfect spray, 91% Alcohol, and shower slippers, body soap, slippers.
Very unsanitary Smelly rooms, Molded bathrooms, Rust all around bathroom sink tables, nasty carpets rooms/halls, filthy stained bedding/towels.
Also, Throughly Check All Room Fees.. . They Allowed someone to Bill Restaurant Charges to one of our Rooms and I have to wait 30 days for them to investigate it.
I said with all of the unsanitary conditions in harrahs I wouldn't feed my animal any food from any restaurant inside of harrahs or any of caesars properties for that matter. I've had bad experiences in all of their properties in Atlantic city that we've stayed at ballys, caesars, harrahs... Not to mention I have my kids with me all the visits to their properties in atlantic city and all horrible experiences. I will not be staying in any of their properties this was it. You know its bad when your kids complain and ask why.....

We’ve never been to a gambling resort but know convention hotels well from business travel. This trip was for an athletic tournament. There were 3,000 or so wrestlers and their families and some very few other tourists staying this week. It’s the only hotel with convention (arena) space within the hotel but it’s not a hotel complex suitable for families. And it seems very poorly run. Yet they do a lot of athletic events because of the large conference facilities. Groups of kids of all ages. This wasn’t Harrah’s first.
Checkin was horrible for many - rooms were not ready or not the right ones and none others available even after getting messaged that their room was ready. For hours. Kiosks for checkin were inconsistent. Room service was hard to figure out - there are no printed menus in rooms.
Internet connection was nearly non-existent and always weak.
There were no visible hotel service staff unless you were able to wait in line for a desk staff. Every restaurant was understaffed.
But mostly: food service seems the lowest priority. No food is available before 8:00am and there is no casual family-style dining on site. “Fine dining” (yes, expensive resort pricing applies) is available with adult menus and adult portions. (Our adult meals were good at 2 restaurants.) There is arcade style food only (pizza and burgers but chicken only until 7:00pm.) No cafe, no diner, no breakfast for little kids who wake up early. Nowhere with Mac and Cheese, a kid staple. No place to buy cartons of milk or juice. Airports are better provided.
If your child is scheduled for an event at this hotel BRING FOOD, especially good protein although rooms don’t have microwaves. If you have a small child bring milk and fruit and their usuals.

As a frequent visitor to Harrah’s I’m always confused by many of the negative reviews posted. Have visited twice this year and have found my rooms in the Waterfront Tower to be pristine and perfectly appointed. Requests for additional housekeeping amenities or service are met quickly and with a smile. On both occasions my Friday check-in was quick and special requests accommodated. Am a fan of the Lobby Bar and always have a great time with Pete and Anthony. It’s a great setting to watch all the action as people come and go. Dinner at Gordon Ramsey isn’t cheap, but is consistently excellent. As I often travel solo I know I can count on being taken care of by the restaurant’s bar servers. Jerry and Mike are outstanding. Taz has the best morning coffee and a pretty good breakfast sandwich. Lots of other dining options are geared to fast food, which isn’t my thing, but there are choices. The casino floor has been reconfigured in recent seasons and lots of new slots have been integrated. The sports book is small compared to other resorts but it is situated so you can easily swing by to watch games and move on when you’ve seen enough. I have noticed instances where guests have had spills in the elevators and maintenance was slow to step in, but they are rare. Some towers and floors are older and could use additional attention. Be advised that lower rates probably mean an older, more traveled room. Overall I think we all need to remember that the way we behave as guests had an impact on the appearance and condition of the rooms and common areas.
Have stayed at all the Caesars locations and I always return to Harrah’s.

Harrah’s was the place to be pre-COVID currently this is not the place to be. I called for housekeeping 3 times to come clean my room via housekeeping and via text app. Me and my family were gone from the room all day and came back to an uncleaned room (keep in mind there were dirty diapers in the trash all day so imagine the smell). My 1 year old had to suffer as we had to switch rooms at 10pm at night because there was only one house keeping staff member in the entire building on a Thursday night and to top it off we had to roll the crib given to us by the hotel all the way to the other side of the hotel with my daughter, myself, and my husbands suitcases(don’t forget about the crib). We were told by Jacqueline (front desk manager) that the housekeeping manager would come to our room personally to discuss this inconvenience (they never came). Never staying here again and to whoever responds please don’t bother I don’t want to read your generic response for unsatisfied guests 🙄🙄🙄 JUST DO BETTER!!!!

Stayed at the Harrahs Atlantic City because we had a stay to play sports tournament in the attached convention center. It was very convenient but I would never stay here otherwise. Our first room was in the Coastal tower and it was gross. The room was run down, the cleaning job was questionable and the walls are so thin you can hear everything in the hallways and other rooms. The second room we had was in the Waterfront tower and was very nice, spacious & clean, In the hotel there were lines for everything, check-in, bellhop, valet... it seemed they were not prepared for how many people they had checking in/out. It was such an incredible waste of time. (To bypass the insane check in lines use the kiosk!). The self-park was full so cars were forced to pay double for valet parking and wait on a line for that. Beware, they charge $20 for an extra person fee if more than 2 people are in the room AND also charge a $14 fee for more than 2 devices hooked up to the wifi. We spent hundreds of dollars extra between food, drinks and gambling in the 2 days we were there, but I guess the extra $50 in silly charges is worth losing returning customers. I did try to call to voice my displeasure starting with the number they provided on the bill I was emailed. I was transferred to 3 different departments/representatives and gave up after waiting on hold for the 4th. So add poor customer service to the experience too.

I stayed here for 3 nights due to a business conference.
And stayed in the Bayview tower. Honestly, I expected better.
The room was never cleaned before we checked in. The shower floor was filthy. There was dust and rust everywhere.
The sink in the bathroom was consistently stopped up. I called for cleaning service each night I stayed and asked that they clean the shower at the least. Someone came to the room and brought towels and toiletries they never cleaned the shower. No one ever came to service the room for any cleaning the entire time i was there. I had to request they empty the trash cans in the room and this they did when they bought the additional towels and toiletries I requested because the toiletries in the bathroom were EMPTY BOTTLES.
The carpet was somewhat damp and smelled moldy.
There was so much dust in the room my allergies were triggered daily. There was no bottled water in the room.
The “free” WIFI that included 2 devices kept kicking me off the network. The service in the hotel is shoddy so you have no choice but to try and connect to WI-FI. This is a problem specifically if you’re traveling on business and rely on internet service for your business. The lack of cleanliness in a time where cleanliness should be held to the upmost standard is astounding. I had to use Microban and alcohol wipes on everything.
Harrah’s is NOT an establishment I would have booked for myself. And after this business trip I never will.
