We spent three nights here at the end of our holiday to Vietnam and Cambodia, a key one of our bucket list holidays.
The hotel is very well located just south of the Angkor Temple complex and just north of central Siem Reap on the main route through the city.
The hotel offers all the amenities you'd expect from a quality 4 star hotel with excellent dining, beautiful well appointed rooms and a great pool area, which is where we chose to relax while the heat of the day faded to a balmy evening,
Well placed for exploring the area and the must-see Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom temple complexes.
While there are a number of other fine hotels in the area, The Tara Angkor offers that fine combination of excellent amenities, delightful staff, great location and very attractive prices which is hard to beat. If you're travelling to Siem Reap you could do a lot worse than stay at the Tara Angkor.

This really is an excellent hotel where the staff shine through and really make your stay. Granted it was our honeymoon but the staff were always there to help, always smiling and just excelled. The room was a very high standard with a very good bathroom which included a bath and decent shower. We ate at the hotel on evening and it was cheap and very good, they also have a happy hour where you can grab a drink after a hard days travelling.
Pool area is decent. Not the largest but on our trip it didn't seem too busy, food and drink quality at pool bar was good. I can't comprehend why one reviewer gave 4 rather than 5 stars because there is some shade after 3pm but it's just a nice area to relax.
Would return and recommend.

The hotel is very clean, the staff exceptionally helpful. A pretty seating area through the middle and small but lovely swimming pool. The breakfast options are plentiful with juices, fry station, local cuisine, pastries, cereals and fruit. Nice cool bar and great happy hour from 18:00-20:00. The rooms are a good size with hot powerful showers and baths, room safe, with robes and slippers provided. Also tea and coffee making facilities. Do take a tuk tuk ride to Pub Street for $3 for the experience. Placed within easy reach of the Angkor Wat complex.

Stayed in March just as Coronavirus started to get more serious so hotel as well as Siem Reap and Temples were quiet.

Tara Angkor hotel was overall ok , few minutes tuk tuk tuk ( they were everywhere and $2 to/ from hotel ) ride into the centre but we easily walked there and back a few times during the day. The doormen called a tuk tuk for you and tip is to get a card from reception with a list of destinations (including the hotel for return journey) so you can show the driver where you want to go. Nothing much local to the hotel.

Thought bar internally was too small and could get very noisy especially when there are organised groups and that’s with not many guests at the hotel.

Wasn’t that impressed with the breakfast, the hot buffet food I had was luke warm at best and cold on one day . It may have been due to reduced numbers and the food being put out early.

Swimming pool area is small and guess would be crowded if anywhere near full occupancy. Pool looked to be used mainly for cooling off post Temple visits !

Room was large and good . We asked for and got quiet room which was on top floor overlooking the internal courtyard area . The rooms at the front of the hotel looked as if they could be noisy from the entrance and passing road traffic.

From the moment I was picked from the airport, I already had a feeling that it’s going to be a pleasant stay. I was welcomed with a refreshing drink when I arrived at the hotel, a nice lemon grass tea I believe. It was just perfect after a long dehydrating queue at Immigration Control. And oh yes, I am very particular with details so I can’t miss how cute the welcome drink was decorated and omg the straw was a lemon grass stem! Talk about being organic I just love it, and it comes with a wet tissue by the way. My friend, tissue is life. For me, it’s the little things that matter.

Everyone who works at the hotel were very warm and friendly. I like how the staff are very helpful and most importantly, they can speak good English.

Our twin-room is spacious and spotlessly clean. I like how they have a safe, slippers, bathrobes and a bath tub! And mirrors on the wall, with emphasis on the “s”. LoL

Breakfast is sumptuous and lots of choices. Khmer and Thai mainly, but there are also international dishes to choose from. The wide selection of fruits always makes my mornings. ;)

We missed the spa at the hotel because we didn’t have enough time to indulge. I was dying to get a massage. I bet it’s an unforgettable experience as well.

If there’s one thing I won’t forget about Tara Angkor, it’s the Christmas Party. I love the red carpet galore. I like how they made each guest feel like a VIP as we walked down the red carpet to the party hall. Every guest giggled with excitement. It was well lit and beautifully decorated. Kudos to the creative team! It was a night of a beautiful Christmas and culture experience. The Apsara Dance was lovely and the roasted turkey is to heart for! We also had the rare opportunity to meet the few people behind the success of Tara that night. Such humble people, they are the nicest we met in Cambodia!

Great food, excellent service and the warmest of hospitality… Tara Angkor Hotel has it all. Thank you and I will surely recommend you to friends visiting Siem Reap!

We spent five nights here on a recent trip to Cambodia. First impression was that it was a bit characterless & the reception was professional but a little impersonal. However we warmed to the hotel during our stay. The staff were mostly friendly & welcoming. The hotel & rooms were very clean & well maintained. The breakfasts were a little below par, but a dinner we had here was excellent. Our trip was all pre-paid, but we checked the room rates after our holiday & were amazed how reasonable they were. Only downside is that it was bit of a walk to the centre of Siem Reap, but tuk-tuks were plentiful.

The hotel is clean comfortable and we found the staff very welcoming / helpful. Our room was to the rear and we had very peaceful nights. There are several places to eat within a short walking distance and the National Angkor museum, well worth a visit, is a 6-7 mins walk away.
A 5 min 'tuk-tuk' ride (about $3) will get you to the centre on the town. Pub street being a good central location to start from.
Felt very safe walking around in the evening.
Travelling to the temples requires transport wherever you are so this hotel is as well positioned as others.

Been travelling for 3 weeks, this is by far the worst hotel we have stayed in.
The hotel itself is a 3* We would say, hygienic and the staff friendly enough, they" just do enough", answer questions and are accomodating but that's it, waited for dinner, everyone seemed too busy on their phones. I would like to point out that all of this was during a point where the hotel was less than 50% full because of the virus, the point being why not maximise the opportunity to make your guests give great reviews. The welcoming fruit bowl was a nice gesture(see image) and view from our window was disappointing (see image), the real shame is the disco opposite that plays drum and base until 5am every day, not a lot of sleep.
Real shame as I think this hotel has great potential.

The hotel is a short tuk tuk ride to the centre of town, which comes to life at night and, a short tuk tuk ride to Angkor Wat which the hotel can arrange for you. The driver will wait for you then take you to the next temple and all for about 21 dollars. He will also take you to purchase your entrance tickets. There are guides on site who will show you round for a small price, this is a great way to see the temples if you dont want to be with a large group. The hotel is very comfortable but maybe a few areas could do with a bit of a refurb. The rooms are comfortable and clean the staff are very attentive and helpful. The restaurant serves multinational food and is very good quality and value. I would stay here again.

We had been staying at small hotels and decided it to try something a bit larger for our trip to Siem Reap. I expected the hotel to be a lot larger based on the photos but I would describe it as a medium size hotel. We booked a Superior Room. Our room overlooked the interior courtyard and was quite clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was quite varied so that just about everyone can find something to eat. We did use the pool and the fitness room. Unfortunately the fitness room did not have a fitness bench although it had dumbbells and it also had cardio equipment. Although about a mile out of town, we were able to find nice places to eat in the vicinity. We enjoyed a delicous casual meal in a family owned outdoor restaurant to your left across the street from the hotel. There is also a nice restaurant called Changkran Khmer hidden away near the restaurant. The hotel staff was quite helpful in answering our questions. During our stay, there were several middle aged British and American tour groups. So the one drawback is that there is not much poolside seating and it would get very crowded in the afternoon.
