Well I have to say this wouldn’t be my sort of hotel at all - far too dark and depressing HOWEVER as we were on business and the customer was paying their hotel we went with the flow ;) The amount of hand carved doors, chairs, desks, bars, walls, plant pots and carvings on the wall would probably burn fir about 18 months should it evervti have the misfortune to catch a spark :) the ornamental ‘swimming pool’ behind the reception area would probably better served with a few Koi Carp swimming around in it - but I can understand how a hotel of this nature ‘wood’ appeal. Regardless to that the staff are lovely and very helpful and flexible. The rooms I found very dark and a limited amount of sockets that seamed to reduce daily so ended up charging the phone in the bathroom. Breakfast was at best ‘limited, Decent location close to the airport.

It is amazing how lovely colonial hotels like the Majestic were firstly conceived and have survived so well. Excellent amenities and beautiful spacious rooms with hand made furniture from another age.

We moved here from a busier, smaller hotel. The Majestic staff are super friendly, it is great value with spacious well-appointed bedrooms and the indoor pool is really nice. The breakfast needs a rethink- not much local food, mostly Chinese dishes (for the tour bus groups) and western toast (no cereal on offer), and 'orange juice' is a kind of cordial. The lobby and atrium are definitely majestic!

The rooms were very nice.Everybody there was very friendly, especially Mr Oem Thean he was very nice and very helpful he is a lovely and friendly staff, . The only thing which could have been better was the pool,it needed to be deeper. . A lovely hotel with very attentive staff. Great restaurant and very pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were very nice, clean, comfy beds. Situated on the way to the airport, only 10 minutes, and also 10minutes by tuk tuk to centre...

A travel companion and I stayed here for four nights and found the facilities (apart from the tired carpets and out of order poolside spa) clean and in good working order. The wood panelling, marble stairs and inside pool were indeed very majestic in an old world style and the room size lovely and spacious. The staff were very keen to assist in any way they could and the food was pleasant and served in a timely manner (unlike another traveller's experience). Only drawback was the location is a little too far out of town for those who may wish to get a better feel for Siem Reap environs.

Was intrigued by the wooden craved panelling at the lobby. It has a certain charm with attempts to furnishing the area with Cambodian interior but it is prone to power outages. Still the staff were friendly and service good. Good stay with a tight budget.

Firstly......we cannot fault the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was pleasant, but it did take just over 40minutes to get a cocktail (and we had actually ordered 2) and when it finally arrived it was nothing like the description. The hotel has impressive woodwork but that is where the wow for us stopped. The lobby was dark and aircon wasn't really existant. We were shown to our room and upon stepping out of the lift onto very stained carpet we knew we would not be staying long. Our room smelled terrible. We stayed one night of our booked and paid for 4 nights and then moved to the Angkor Borei where I'd stayed before. Whilst we didn't like to complain I think it is only fair to rate this hotel honestly. It needs improvement. A number of big groups were staying and seemed happy, so maybe this is just not a good choice for couples. We ventured to the restaurant for dinner and chose our favourite Khmer dish.....fish amok......however, this was not as good nor did it contain the ingredients we expected of such a famous dish. Disappointing, but edible. We didn't bother trying to get a refund for the 3 nights we didn't stay as we were happier to just move on.

Build in 2006 hotel in colonial style with timber wood craftings close to airport and center. I enjoyed it for three days, especially the warm and outstanding service of the staff, who offered and provides service also in extraordinary situations. I wish that they will more enlighten the rooms in the future in order to make its interieur even more shiney.
