okay SO, TLDR: do not forget your valuables at this location. I have never had such a bizarre and rude awakening at the integrity of the MANAGING staff of a hotel... We had to leave our hotel super early and I realized the next morning I left my AirPods in our room. I called the hotel and the front desk said they didn't have any AirPods (bummer, but ultimately my fault, and I was thinking maybe I just dropped them somewhere else). I thanked them for looking, then remembered I had recently added my pods to Find My. So, I check and see them at a house 10 minutes away from the hotel. I call back and tell the hotel I have an exact address, if they could see if someone that works at the hotel lives there. The front desk said they would talk to the manager and get back to me shortly. This is where the sus stuff starts. I spent almost 2 hours of my day calling back and forth with the hotel. The manager eventually calls and said that he had found my AirPods and put them in his pocket and must have forgot, so they were still in his car (??) which was at his house. TBH I was just relieved at this point, and I like believing people are good, so I was just excited I'd be able to get them back. and THEN, when I went to connect them to my phone later that night, my AirPods were completely disconnected from my account - it showed the disconnection happened at 8am that day (I've had them for almost 2 years and this has never happened). What's better, is that when I tried to reconnect them, they were named PIAS PODS. (my name is Rachel, exemplified by my individualized AirPods case that says my name) I called the next morning and talked to the manager again because renaming and disconnecting AirPods has about 7 intentional steps you have to make. He basically told me if he wanted to take them he could have just taken them, which is funny because it took me telling the hotel I have an exact address before I got any news about my headphones. He said he has a 15 year old daughter who probably was "'playing around with them" because she probably thought he got them for her. But again, the case says RACHEL on them and I'm pretty certain a 15 year old can read. He completely brushed the situation off like it could happen at any time to anyone, and also chose to throw his daughter under the bus. Again, I'm thankful I got them back but I can't even describe how uncomfortable the experience made me feel.. when you're paying money to stay somewhere you hope that the managing staff would be looking out for you, but not here!! so tread with caution :-)

Hotel's Favorite
Only here one night but place was nice and clean, room was large, big workspace/desk in the room. King bed was comfortable, 4 good pillows, good shower, room was dark at night, i.e. not a bunch of light shining through from the windows and door. Decent breakfast. I used the fitness room which had couple of nice treadmills, ellipticals, some dumbbells and a few other pieces of equipment. Price was great too! I don't get the handful of negative reviews but I guess there's always a few. I had zero issues with my stay and would come again.

The bed was comfortable, however, the rest of the room and hotel was quite outdated. The rungs in the hall need to be re-stretched or replaced. The office chair in the room, the pleather was worn out. the wallpaper above the shower was moldy and had huge cracks. The accessible shower room, did not have bars at the proper heights.

As soon as we walked in the room, there was a foul odor… so we opened a window & turned on the A/C to air it out. Floor was so dirty & gross. The shower drain looked like it had backed up into the tub. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Popcorn on the floor and in the chair. There were other food crumbs all over the nightstand. Large stains on the comforter. The soap and shampoo from the last person were still in the shower. It really made us question if they even changed the sheets or just remade the bed. Literally, nothing else a cleaning person would have done was done. First and last time staying here. Simply gross.

There was old used and crusty towels in the bathroom, blood/pee and puke stains in all the beds, very Unclean, hairs in the bed and foul smells. We had 3 rooms and all rooms had to get new towels and sheets. The management was hardly any help for our concerns.

We had stayed here many years ago. We liked it. The reviews were very mixed but it was near to shopping and the price was reasonable. Then, I saw two cockroaches. The manager wasn’t too surprised or apologetic. Nor did he offer any compensation above refunding me the money. We ended up driving 2 1/2 hours back home and ending our trip.

We have stayed at this Quality Inn at least 6 times over the past 10 years. The first 2 or 3 stays (2013 and 2014) were excellent. Ever since then, things have gotten worse through numerous management changes. This most recent stay was the worst and most likely the last. Checking in was fine, but the smell throughout the hallways was the first thing we noticed. It was like a combination of pot, cigarettes and mold. It wasn't that bad in the room at least. The room with 2 double beds was small and could have been cleaner. At least it was quiet. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. On both mornings the potatoes were way undercooked, yogurt had expired best before dates, juice was watered down and the waffle maker a complete mess. One morning a police officer was investigating a complaint by a guest.

The hotel staff was nice and it was a good value for the amenities included like free WiFi, free parking, and free breakfast. The place did smell like marijuana though. I would stay here again in the future.

I would like to take a moment to tell you a long winded story about the Quality Inn in Aurburn Hills Michigan, 1461 North Opdyke rd. I checked in last night and my room smelled like mold. It was late and I was too tired to go back and forth with the front desk about it so I just went to sleep. Today after a Spartan race I showered and found a ton of black mold in the tub and behind the wallpaper. I told the manager who never once apologized. In fact, he was very rude from the get go. I was nice about it. I even waited for the other guest to leave the check in booth before I voiced my complaint to give him a chance to fix it without upsetting another guest. I told him I wanted a new room and a refund for both nights. He refused, said he’d refund me for the previous night and get me a new room. The new room also had mold. I told him I was leaving and wanted a refund for both nights. He refused, said he would refund me for tonight but I already slept there last night so a full refund was out of the question. His name was Neil btw. He said I’d have to call Priceline and have them call the hotel and he would authorize a partial refund. I was not happy with that but told him to put that in writing and sign it. He refused. Two Priceline reps called and he declined any refund at all and Priceline also refused any kind of refund. The check in clerk at the new hotel said a bunch of other people left the quality Inn and came to this place for the same issue so the manager knows about the mold and just doesn’t care. I even brought up the fact that I could get sick and he told me “You’re not sick”. As if the spores have even had enough time to grow Into mold in my lungs yet. I have another race in the morning and instead of resting have been dealing with the horrible hotel. Neil went as far as telling me he’s done speaking to me and walked away as soon as I have him the room key back. Worst customer service ever.
