When you first walk into the hotel you can tell it is dated but all the common areas were nice enough. Got to my room - and did not notice at first or I would have asked to move rooms - but the furniture was stained and gross and I took about 4 different pics of some red substance on the carpet that I have ot believe was blood unless someone was spilling red wine on purpose all over the room. I eed to prep for a meeting the next day and planned to have room service. I called several times and kept getting a busy signal - when I called the front desk she said they were too busy yet when I checked in I specifically asked if they had room service tonight and was told yes. Had to get Door Dash. Next morning I turn the shower on and see dirt wash away to the drain. I can not believe this Hotel is a Hilton

Response from Rodney Jackson, General Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton Auburn Hills
Responded yesterday
I'm sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. We are a very popular hotel especially for families with children and unfortunately we sometimes have some permanent stains that at times happen. We are in the process of preparing for some renovations and we hope you return soon.

Hotel's Favorite
Very good suite with king size bed, coffee machine, noise isolation. Fitness center with great trend mill for speed training, near CTC, parks and great lakes crossing outlet. Complimentary drinks every Day. Only one elevator operating and house keeping only on Tues and Thrusdays, morning staff missed my first request and had to wait to be attended. In overall, very good.

Stayed at many Embassy Suites. It’s out favorite hotel chain. Stayed last year for Christmas on 25th and 26th. Hotel rooms were and are a little run down and need to be updated. Staff and atrium were very nice. We were there to visit family like most people there, and had family there to play games, drink, and eat in atrium like many others. Wonderful time, and our family decided to stay again this year, with the same plan. Little did we know, the hotel adopted a NEW policy of not allowing outside drink or food in atrium. Excuse for the policy was that they have a restaurant. Restaurant does not open until 5pm?? We wanted to gather from 12-5. I went to front desk to to ask for alternatives. I am a Hilton Diamond member. The front desk person for extremely nice and I believe she truly wanted to help. She went back to speak with the GM who just said NO. Coward was not even willing to come discuss it with me?? Great service. She next consulted the the Hospitality manager, who’s only option was to offer an extremely outdated hospitality room for $200 from 12-5pm. Horrible customer service. They do not care at all. I have stayed at many embassy suites hotels and never encountered this policy or customer service. Ridiculous!!!

There are great things about this property and pretty bad things about this property. The lobby and breakfast area are beautiful, but the rooms are pretty run down. The sofa bed in our room was broken, and there were stains on the carpet. The in-room fridge and microwave worked fine, and the shower water was a good temperature. We also liked the layout of the room, but the windows in the living room area were missing drapes, they only had the pull-down shade. Our two-year-old daughter was sleeping in this room, so it would've been nice to have those blackout shades like we had in the bedroom. In addition, we're lucky we brought her pack-and-play that she still fits in because our original plan of having her sleep in the sofa bed with inflatable bumpers wouldn't have worked because as previously stated, the sofa bed was broken! The TVs worked fine, just slow, and had plenty of channels. The pool was a good size, and there was a hot tub, but the ceiling above the pool was falling apart. It did not look anything like the advertised picture. There were also no clean towels in the two days we were there. The fitness room looked nice, but we did not have a chance to use it. Our bed was clean and comfortable. The best part of the stay by far was the included breakfast. Excellent buffet options and a made-to-order omelette station. The complementary reception in the evening included two free drinks for adults, as well as snacks for the family. The snacks were chips, cubed pepper jack cheese, pepperoni slices, crackers, and goldfish crackers. The goldfish crackers had a scooper, but there were no tongs or serving utensils for the rest of the food. There is also a little sundries store within the lobby where you can buy some food and necessities. The parking lot is large. There is also little dining in the surrounding area. Overall, we were disappointed by the run-down nature of the hotel, even though the breakfast was good. We would not come back though.

Do yourself a favor -- stay somewhere else. This is a horrible property and not worth your hard-earned money. I am very surprised because this hotel is not up to ES/Hilton standards. I was not expecting luxury; however, nor was I expecting a run down, dirty and depressing hotel. Let's start with the elevators -- which often were stuck and would only operate after the front desk person "reset" them. It didn't help that large groups of children were allowed to run throughout the hotel screaming and playing with the elevators. The room itself was dark and dreary with industrial lighting, worn carpet, and a couch with cushions that must have been 10-15 years old. Of course, I had to go down to the front desk twice to get into my room. The mobile key did not work, so I asked for a regular key and that did not work. The bathroom was ok, but the towels were thin as paper, and there was not a door to separate the toilet from the rest of the restroom. BTW -- no one cared to set the room clocks back for DST. The staff was ok, but seemed indifferent and unfriendly. Never again!

Because it has been years that I walked into a hotel room and said "oh no, you've got to be kidding me". Based on Embassy Suites reputation, the rate I paid and location, I did not expect a dump of a room. The first room the two queen mattresses were sitting on exposed box springs. No covering. And the box springs were sitting on metal frames that were sticking out and sharp metal exposed. A terrific accident waiting to happened to your feet. The closet slider door was broke and would not open. I went downstairs and show the front desk my photos and asked if that was how all the rooms looked. She said no and moved us to another floor. Same set up with the mattress sitting on an exposed box spring sitting on a metal frame. At least the metal wasn't ripped and was pushed more under the box spring. It wasn't worth changing hotels at this time as it was pre-booked and paid for. But no hair dryer and we had to call down for one. The toilet leaked water on the floor, one headboard was pulled out and they had cardboard under the feet of the bedside table. The front desk was always friendly, the bartended was a dud and knew nothing about the menu and operated at 1/3 speed, the happy hour was very minimal. It just felt gross staying there but we were stuck.

This property should not be a Hilton. I have been an Honors member for many years and have stayed in all types of Hilton hotels. In contrast to all of these other hotels, this place is very run down, not clean, not maintained and understaffed. The dishes were not clean. The bathroom sink was clogged. The linens were stained. The carpet and furniture were stained and damaged. The foldaway bed would not open. One of the two elevators was broken. (Another review suggested that it had been broken for weeks). The food service was extremely slow because there was only one person working. Dishes were left on the tables long after diners had departed. The desk clerk was very nice but she was also very sick. I reported the clogged sink but no one even looked at it. There was a shower curtain lying on the floor in the hallway for two days. There was vomit in the stairwell. The hotel location is convenient for lots of business travelers, so it was fully booked. Hilton surely could afford to bring his place up to a reasonable standard. Don't stay here. I trusted the Hilton name when I made the reservations; that will not happen again.

This place is an absolute filthy dump unfortunately. Shower hadn't been cleaned in years apparently? I left and got a different hotel at 10:30pm last night. Never going back to an ES again. The pictures speak for itself.

This was one of the "Worst" properties I have stayed in of the Hilton Brand. Filthy room and furniture as well as liens. The unbearable heat was atrocious and what makes matters worst is one elevator working interfered with disabilities because of long wait, inability to get on a packed elevator with walker resulting in any person with wheel chair of walkers to have to wait long periods. Housekeeping is poor at best, and The dirty sheets and/or furniture was despicable, and lead to a horrible rash or contact dermatitis The elevator has no air and with so many people packing in because of the lengthy wait makes for easy contagions being passed in such tight non-air circulation space. Witness two staff make disparaging remarks about guest, one in the kitchen and the other behind the desk who made remarks she just don't know who I am , she is lucky I held my tongue. This was horrible hospitality and poor customer care. There had to be at least 1/4 of the guest having issues with room keys for which lead to the one employee remarking as to "How lucky the guest was to have not been told off" Hilton fails regarding this property, no excuses for staff, housekeeping and dysfunction generally.

We have been going to this hotel for the Woodward Dream Cruise for many of the past years and over the most recent, 2021 to present, the hotel has declined in quality, services and cleanliness! Our car club has booked as many as 125 rooms for the third weekend in August for many 15 years easy. This year was 69 rooms. The staff were great and trying to be as accommodating as possible, but the hotel facility is quickly declining. When checking it, tell customers there is no maid service unless requested! Don't leave it to a sticker on the mirror to inform guests. When requests are made to replenish the basic needs of any hotel, meet the request! Don't make the guests ask twice, three of four times! Beds are declining in quality and need to be changed. Mattresses sink in the middle and visibly show it. One of two elevators were inoperable causing very long wait times to access floors and stairs were not a close alternative. Calls to the front desk were met with aggression and frustration. I believe this was caused by the several deficiencies. Our group loves this location due to it proximity to the cruise and the hotel gives us a great deal, but will a couple of free drinks and a great made to order breakfast keep our large group here? Time will tell.
