Nothing that I can say about one of the Jumeirah resorts. Old furniture in the room, the breakfast doesn't value the money. Very disappointing condition of the room generally. There are no even needs that usually must- have without requiring from staff.

So my first return to dubai since the world came to a standstill in the spring of 2020. It had to be the JZS, although I have lost track a little, I think this was visit 12 or 13 to the hotel. Even better with emirates flying out of Gatwick again and so no need to endure the M25! I knew in advance that some things had changed… the hotel car that used to transport the club room guests was gone (thankfully emirates stepped in there…) and the club room has moved again in the hotel, this time to the Turkish restaurant (never really liked it, so happy that’s has gone, not so sure about the club room…) the shuttle bus to the mainland had gone before Covid, but it made you notice that taxis had gone up in price! Less well known the daily newspapers gone, no sign of press reader (the usual digital alternative), and the lovely shower amenities now come secured to the wall like a travel lodge. Making it impossible to have a bath and get clean as there were no gels on the wall by the bathroom! And no turn down chocolates… but you do get a bookmark every night! Thankfully some good things remain… mainly the staff… they really do want to help. Some stand out and make you most welcome, others stand out, sadly as they don’t. Maybe new to the job, maybe not feeling the Jumeirah stay different way? Although there are notable fewer staff in some areas, I know hospitality recruitment in the Uk has been hard post covid, I imagine Dubai is the same. It’s clear that the hotel was very busy, I wonder if they may be overselling the club side as on many occasions it was tricky to get into the club room. This will be solved when it goes back to its original home in what was most recently the grill room I think. Breakfast was a little lacklustre in the club room (but imperium was superb) and when you could get a table the choice of cocktails was much improved from previous visits. Less good was the afternoon tea that was at best “perfunctory” the days of more than the slightly too firm finger sandwiches, scones and cakes long gone. I do fear that I had hoped for too much, having missed the hotel since Covid. It’s not been my first holiday since Covid, but maybe I just expected too much. The hotel still smells and looks amazing, the pool is fabulous but the rooms are starting to tire and the stripping out of most soft furnishings in rooms post Covid has made them less opulent somehow. So as to the staff that stood out… There were many, sorry I didn’t get all the names. But Sunil on the door as true gent, always there to greet and assist and look after you. Good to have a long-standing team member there. Rajendrah by the pool once more looking after your every need, even when I asked, as I may have done to sit in the shade but also the sun at the same time. He knew where I meant! Nothing was too much and in the extreme heat he always made sure all was well and provided plenty of iced water. Muthu in the club lounge was a consummate professional. I feel he was doing his best, and it showed. He was always working hard, His team were not perhaps at their best, but it’s clear that he was trying to help them. Hopefully the return to the original Club room will give him a better facility that he can excel in. I’m typing this after a truly relaxing week and know that I’m a lucky person for being at the JZS once more. I will return. Please don’t feel my comments are critical, it’s more that when you love a hotel as much as I love this one, when something isn’t quite right it feels worse than it should.

We have spent in this hotel 4 days and it was really out of my expectations. The most memorable things which I want to highlight is a cuisine and the beach. Besides, having a good restaurants this hotel has a A la carte Japanese restaurant where I ate the most delishes fish (unfortunately do not remember the name) in my life.

This was our 3rd stay with zabeel, but unfortunately we will not be returning..... The standards have very much slipped and are not upto jumeirahs usual standard. Yes, the lobby is exquisite and opulent but you do not spend your whole holiday in the lobby..... and beyond the lobby many areas need to be addressed. Starting with our room, there was a very strong smell of sewage and the mirror next to the Turkish bath was taped up with grey sellotape ! Not a 5 star standard room. We had to keep asking for towels almost every day ! Twice we called down for more towels, but had to go to reception as they were still not brought to us. The room just wasn't cleaned or maintained to the normal jumeirah standards, at least fix the mirror! The plaj.... extremely slow service and this was constant. They are incredibly busy but to constantly be waiting for food and drinks. We had to keep calling over to order, they desperately need more staff. We were left once, with tops on our drinks still, and had to go back upto bar for a bittle opener The food standards in the plaj has seemed to have slipped quite dramatically too. We also had an incredibly bad experience at the plaj, but we won't go into detail on this review as the manager apologised and we dined with compliments for lunch . Imperium.... we dined here twice, the first time... the chef with the meat station for the roast dinner, told my husband off for asking for more beef! Not acceptable..... The second .... the restaurant was very quiet. We ordered the drinks package, we had to ask 3 times for a soft drink. There was a lady and child sat next to us.... who had to continously ask for drinks... in the end she had to say to the waiter just get me water, anything ! We need a drink ! They left their dinner and walked out! The breakfast and evening buffet at the imperium is a lot smaller than our previous stays. They have taken away part of the buffet and now replaced with tables and chairs. The children's section used to have a popcorn machine and other lovely things for them. But the children's food section is no where near what it used to be. They also used to have a dessert section in the imperium but they took this away and put it in the back at the children's section. As guests who have stayed a few times, we notice these things and it's very dissapointing. Little maintenance issues, such as the spa, tiles missing in the bottom of the indoor pool which are quite sharp on your feet and 2 large tiles broken surrounding the spas pool with a yellow warning sign. This still wasnt fixed on the day we left. I dropped my dress on the changing floor and asked if I could wear the robe upto the room. I said I would bring it straight back after changing in my room and will sign to say I have taken a robe. But no, they would not allow it. I had to walk back to the room with a wet dress through the lobby !!!! We had also been double charged for a dinner, luckily we kept the receipts, this happened on our last stay also and also on another review I noticed. The manager took 20% from the bill as this was an anniversary trip and the service just wasn't up to standard ! This was our 6th stay in dubai, 3rd at this hotel and we will not be returning to this hotel for our stay in dubai next year. This is our 6th trip to dubai, 3rd stay with zabeel and we will not be returning.

Stayed at the hotel for one week in November for my daughters first oversees holiday. We previously stayed in 2019 and were so impressed that we returned for a second visit. The hotel is very impressive, superbly clean and the staff are all amazing. Some special mentions: Harsha - one of the managers and he was extremely kind, empathetic and professional, a great credit to this hotel. Raju & Mahendra - pool side, these lads were fun and very welcoming. They were also excellent with my daughter and honestly would help with anything. Sunil & Ajay - front of the hotel, these guys were friendly and super efficient in sorting out our taxis luggage, packing our stroller, superb guys thank you. Khushi & Biren - both helped at breakfast, very friendly and great at engaging with our daughter. Nothing was ever too much, Biren was also great at the Sultans lounge. Thank you to all of the staff for a memorable stay.

We stayed a few days in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray hotel in Dubai in November 2022. We much appreciated the calm location (see Dubai, but not hear it …), the kind staff and the wonderful hotel infrastructure. The lobby is magnificent (we had not been aware a Mission Impossible scene was done here!), the rooms great class, and the beach surprisingly beautiful for Dubai. We particularly enjoyed the beach, but pool lovers will appreciate the huge pool as well. The service from hotel employees is great throughout. We particularly appreciated the dedication and service from Yasiru in the Sultan’s Lounge as well as the kind and inspiring service from Param in the Al Nafoorah Restaurant. The food in Al Nafoorah (libanese) and the Amala (Indian) restaurants were outstanding. We hope to be able to come back to Jumeirah Zabeel Saray some day.

I travel each year to celebrate my wedding anniversary along with my wife’s birthday (which happens to be the same day) to different countries around the globe. Dubai happens to be our favorite spot as it never fails to amaze us more, hence this time we thought of adding a bit more bling bling and grandness to our trip so we chose Jumeriah Zabeel Saraay as our home for the trip. This certainly was a very special trip for me cos this was the very first trip with our little one who is just 1 year old and we expected everything to be flawless and grand. As you see here, lot of things for me to be cherished for. Everything went well, with reservations, paying at hotel, add-ons, in villa dinings, Sindbad water park, the grill restaurant, rayna travels… was going flawless until our special day 29th of September. I did highlight twice when I was doing the booking about the reason of the trip however it seemed that it wasn’t acknowledged much at JZS. Well, that was a big miss! The next day during breakfast, my wife sadly told me, “this is the first time she felt that her birthday wasn’t a birthday” thus, I decided to check out and then we left to downtown dubai. I really don’t understand whose fault this was, whether your E-Butler platform or system having an error, OR me choosing Jumeriah Zabeel Saraay Expecting the unexpected… Thank you for having us once again. I visit Sultan lounge afternoon for shisha after long time kamal was very welcome and polite. He was brilliant with his service from the shisha to ensuring we were always comfortable and had our drinks topped up. I had a wonderful afternoon in all and kamal played a big port of that. My mum and I visited Dubai and stayed in the gorgeous Zabeel Saray and upon arrival, we received 5* treatment. The hotel itself, the facilities and the decor is what you call Arabian luxury! We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and definitely want to return to the hotel or another within the Jumeirah group on our next visit here. Raju who attended to us by the pool side was ever so friendly and welcoming, always asking if we needed anything and how our stay was. He is lovely and made our trip more enjoyable. Additionally, all the other members of staff around the pool were friendly, as well as housekeeping and in the restaurants. The e-butler service was such a well thought out addition and the water in the ice coolers by the pool were a lovely touch. If you want to stay on the resort solely or on the palm the hotel is great. However if you want to travel out a lot, taxis are expensive. However, there are some points that did let our trip down and which didn’t reflect the 5* luxury experience you hoped to get. Firstly, I think soft drinks are VERY overpriced, at almost £10 for one Diet Coke? I understand that Dubai is expensive, however, we were making tea in our room and my mum wanted a drop of fresh milk rather than the UHT sachets left in our room, and we got charged £5 for a small jug of milk? I think when you’re paying such large amounts for soft drinks, let alone alcoholic drinks, a drop of milk would be complimentary rather than £5?! I am not sure how they can justify that… Additionally, we booked to stay 6 nights, thus, 6 breakfast’s should be included, however, as we left early morning on the 6th day, we were not able to have breakfast as we had to leave before the Imperium dining hall opened. Our last breakfast was paid for so we asked if we could have a coffee and croissants sent to our room just so we could have something before we make our way to the airport. We did receive the coffee, but also received fruit and a meat sandwich… (we’re vegetarian)!!!!! It would have been more appropriate to have asked our dietary preferences before assuming beforehand. Lastly, the night before we left, my mum and I were out and so when we returned to the room, our room was not serviced because the doors were “double locked”… this could not have been as we weren’t even in the room for it to be double locked. Thus, we had no fresh towels for the day of travelling until we had to mention it through the e-butler. To end this review on a more positive note, the hotel itself was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful, however, what would have made this experience a 5* one instead of a 4* is caring about the small touches and making it a more personable experience for customers. The little touches are often what makes the trip more memorable rather than the big gestures. We do want to return to the hotel in the future / hotels within the Jumeirah group, however, we had hoped the service would have been that little bit better.

Having stayed 7 nights at this hotel we were made to feel very welcome by their friendly and helpful staff. The hotel lobby is stunning and all of the facilities of our large 'standard' roo m were spotless. The grounds and beach area are beautifully maintained but please be aware that there is only one children's pool and one (large) general pool. The view at both front and back of the hotel are stunning! The beach is wonderfully kept by a friendly, hard-working team who ensure yo have sunbeds, sun umbrellas, cool flannels and ice cold water. All of the eating areas are beautifully run with friendly staff who always offered a table indoors or on outdoor terraces. The ladies organising the breakfast seating deserve special praise for their friendly helpfulness - even when things get busy. On the down side be aware that this hotel is at the end of one of the Palm 'branches' and its quite a long taxi ride to even leave the Palm for destinations off the Palm. There is no shuttle bus (perhaps not too surprising for a 5-star hotel) but we did see many young families who may have used such a facility. Also be aware that drinks are expensive - especially beer and wine.
