I attended the property on the afternoon of July 10 to check-in. I had booked the bungalow for 5 nights. I was advised by the owner that the bungalow was not available because the roof needed fixing. I stated that I had booked 3 weeks prior & he had ample opportunity to message me & advise me of this. He later changed his story & told me that his son was living in the bungalow. He then allocated me a lesser quality room for the same price. I complained & stated that it was not the room that I had booked. He then showed me another room, which I reluctantly accepted because I was tired & needed desperately to rest. Two hours later after unpacking my bag a knock came at the door & his son was there asking me to move rooms again. I refused. I made it clear to the owner before I took the 2nd room that I would not move again. I had already lugged my bag up a flight of stairs. I was tired after traveling and had not been allocated the room I booked. The son continued to harass me by beating on the door. I spoke with him again and stated that according to previous reviews the establishment had deceived other people by not giving them the room that they booked. I also indicated that his father had lied to me about the bungalow, initially stating that the roof needed fixing & then later saying the bungalow was occupied. Some reviews have noted that lesser quality rooms were dispensed & were not the rooms that people had booked. I made it clear that it was dishonest and deceitful to not give people the room that they booked & to allocate them to a lesser quality room for the same price. The attitude seemed to be that...you will get what you are given regardless of what you may have booked. After being harassed & spoken to with total disrespect I packed my bag & left. It was hot & I had to carry my bag back down the stairs, find other accommodation & walk to transport. The entire episode left me extremely upset & out of pocket as I had to pay an additional taxi fare. I am 63 years old & I felt very threatened by the son's demanding & harassing behaviour. I have since been advised that the property noted me as a "no show" & as a result I will be charged a $16USD fee. I refuse to pay this fee & booking.com needs to look very closely at the honesty of this property owner. By listing me as a no-show I have not been given the opportunity to write a review about this dishonest scam of a place, additionally, I note that as of today July 11, the establishment is no longer taking bookings via booking.com (I wonder why??)

From its location to the staff..from the room to the ambience, we were delighted to have opened our trip to Laos with two nights at lovely place. Mr Bill and his wife (sorry I never got to ask her name) run the show lending a warm and personalised touch. We only had breakfast there which was alright. The fruits they gave us were among the best we had. In the price this came, my sense is this was a very good choice. Hope this was helpful.

This little gem of a place is run by a couple and their adorable toddler (he keeps all the dogs in check). Excellent location - all the interesting places are just a short bicycle ride away - decent breakfast, cosy rooms (on the upper floor), comfortable and clean beds and hot shower is available always. Nothing to complain honestly, except that guests can be noisy.

Good guesthouse near the end of peninsula and Wat Xieng Thong...large room with good A/C, comfortable beds and lotsa pillows, shower at little slow to warm up. My only complaint was I charged on my card, when I wanted to pay cash...as I was told in advance. Hotel charged extra 3% and my stateside bank will charge another 3%. Manager was unavailable during stay to discuss.

My wife and I stayed here during our 4 day visit to Luang Prabang, and had the best experience. The hotel is family-run with Mr. Bill available to provide assistance (in English). He was always kind when answering my multiple questions and helping book tours every day. The room was also spacious with AC and a private bathroom. Highly recommended!

The owners and staff here ate friendly, accomodating, and helpful. Low-key, kind, and offering most any amenities you need, such as a decent breakfast included, yruly hot shower, free wifi, laundry, and access to effortless bookings of tours, taxis, etc. at a very modest rate. Many comparable lodgings in LP cost nearly double what this place costs, and are in my opinion an absurd non-necessity. Though it is not the cheapest, it is certainly not the most expensive, and is a good and fair rate for what you get. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and well appointed. There are 2 rooms in the back that are generally more affordable, and are excellent One caveat is that abutting the property is a Buddhist temple, and most mornings at 4am or 5am you will hear the gong and drum summoning the novices to begin morning chants. However, although it will wake you, it is somehow not really an annoyance, but rather an element of the authentic local charm. There is a decent and reasonably- priced restaurant directly across the street called Anan. There is a beautiful shop selling handmade H'mong hemp/indigo/batik clothing, blankets, etc on Kounxoau street, just 5 minutes walk from the lodging (exit villa, turn left, first left, on left side). The nearby excellent cantina Popolo is on this street as well, with great signature pizzas, Cuban sandwich, and much more. There are also 2 more good, low-priced local eateries on that street, on the left & right sides, both before you reach Popolo if you want authentic Lao food. You need not go far to eat with these 4 nearby eateries around you. Khoum Xieng Thong is ideal for singles, couples, and families alike.

Our stay at Khoum Xieng Thong Boutique Villa was very enjoyable! The rooms were big, great staff, good breakfast and fair prices. The only downside was that the airport transfer that I had organised through the hotel did not show up at the airport and made me feel slightly uneasy. The only other thing to note was that the hotel is right next to the temples which are beautiful but you will be woken up every morning by the gongs!

We absolutely loved this place! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very nice. We even extended our stay. It also has a great location: just a ten minute walk to the market. One of the best hotels during our stay in Laos. Reccomend it!

We stayed here for 1 week and really enjoyed our stay. The room was nice, with everything that we needed. The best part about it was the staff. When we would get home in the afternoon they would deliver us a fresh lime juice each day. When a dog ate one of my sandals they got a needle and thread to help repair it. There is a water cooler to fill up bottles. We didn't get breakfast with our stay, so I can't comment on that. We were also very happy that there was a safe in the room for us to keep valuables. Overall great value, wonderful staff. Would recommend.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was a delight really, the room was nice, the complimentary breakfast was really nice and the location was decent too, in a quaint little area of Luang Prabang. The staff were really helpful and they offered laundry services too. The little parrot and rescued monkey were really cute and made our stay here just that little bit more special.
