This is a beautiful hotel with big guest rooms tastefully furnished. There is a big comfortable bed, a bathroom with a walk in rain forest shower & a seperate deep bath. There is also a large balcony overlooking the river. However there are two hotels with the Apsara name (same owner) and this one is on the opposite bank to the town of Luang Prabang. It is more upmarket of the two. There is a nice restaurant at the hotel with a limited selection. There is next to no other dining options near the hotel. To get to the main town for the sites & restaurants is a bit of a slug. In the dry season there are large number of steep steps to walk down (& I mean large number)to a small hotel boat which brings you across to the other side. And then another large climb up an equally large number of steep steps. And repeat to get back to the hotel. Staff are helpful and friendly. There is free wifi throughout although can be a bit patchy at times. And breakfast was included in my room rate which was tasty. But the hotel has a lovely pool and a beautiful setting so it’s a nice place to relax and chill.

Stayed 8 nights across two stints in Jan 2020. The 1st stay was in upstairs riverview room 6 which overlooks the pool & Nam Khan towards town. The 2nd stay was directly underneath in room 8. There was less street noise in the downstairs room, but without the view. Both rooms had a Queen size bed + day bed for daughter. Rooms very spacious with A/C, safe, fridge, tea & coffee. Note: rooms in the other wing (with reception & restaurant) are slightly smaller. Staff friendly & helpful. Food excellent - breakfast has been mentioned in many reviews, but we also really enjoyed dinner three times (in fact we preferred it to the highly rated Paste, Tamarind and Bouang). For reasons I can't understand we were pretty much the only diners there. Why isn't it more popular? Location is best-of-both-worlds - quick & easy access to the old town via the boatman on-call, but with the benefit of a pool (not permitted in old town). Vibe is tasteful & relaxed. Would stay again.

Ideal position along the Nan Khan river, right bank, with a little boat to cross the river. Cool, easy, surprising. Large and comfortable Room 3, with a terrace, on a garden, like a suite. The welcoming and service are top, almost perfect and very kindly.

We got nothing but great service in this hotel. It's on the quieter side of the river Khan, but the hotel provides a very quick boat ride to Old Town. OR you can walk the nearby Bamboo Bridge for only about a US dollar for two ways. The food was delicious. Breakfast came with the meal and you have a choice. The French croissant/rolls were the best I've ever had -- including in Paris! We also had lunch one day which was also excellent. The rooms are spacious, and manager extremely helpful. We highly recommend!

I have stayed in the Apsara Rive Droite with my friend and have enjoyed it so very much. It takes only 2 minutes to reach the Apsara Rive Droite by boat (free of charge) and you are in the heart of the city and everywhere is walking distance. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are stylish. This hotel is also perfect for honeymooners as it has a very romantic atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Small hotel but with every facility. Spacious and very comfortable room, large balcony with chairs and day bed. Lovely pool with sun beds. Delicious breakfast served outside. Boatman available for the short hop across the river. You are then almost on the classy main street full of fabulous restaurants. Hotel organised a wonderful trip to the waterfalls. All prices are very reasonable. We also visited the elephants and played golf. A wonderful 3 days.

Don’t let the modest facade fool you. This little inn is beautiful and luxurious. Arrival includes tasty chilled welcome drink and a brief orientation of the property, as well as proximity to downtown Luang Prabang - and how to get there. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful from arrival through departure. They scheduled local drivers to show off some of the best of Luang Prabang and the area. The property is updated and immaculately clean ...but also has lots of charm. The rooms are not palatial, but beautiful and updated. Ours had wood and glass French doors to a porch overlooking the river. The grounds are cared for and beautifully manicured. There’s a bar/restaurant on the premises. It was always tended and ready to accommodate guests. Great drinks. Excellent breakfast. It was also nice to splash in the pool in the midday heat. There are two fun adventurous ways to get across the River into town: 1) reserve water taxi 30 minutes in advance, and walk down the steps at the rear of the property to the small boat to take you across; or 2) walk the bamboo bridge. We found this property via the Mr & Mrs Smith global network of luxury boutique hotels. We’ve stayed at other properties in the network, and find them always impressive.

The Apsara Rive Droit is a gorgeous hotel across the UNESCO heritage town. It's easily accessible by complimentary boat ride (2 minutes). We stayed in an upstairs deluxe queen, which was very spacious with a huge balcony. Perfect for lazy afternoons away from the heat. The breakfast is very nice and served with a bread and pastry basket - absolutely exceptional pastry I might add. And that tomato jam was good! The only thing I would suggest is to add handrails and better lighting on the steps either side of the river. Otherwise, it was a very good stay and we were well looked after. Thank you 🙏

Thank you for your good review for the hotel and special for the breakfast. Also thank for your suggest on the handrails and lighting on the steps down to the river and just to let you know we had done it already as your suggest add more of the bamboo handrails and light all the way down to the river and into the boat.

The room was large and lovely, with a nice balcony to relax on with a view of the river. A short boat trip across the river brought us into the old town. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant too.
