Detailed Reviews
It is right next to the NSA and Ft. Meade and the associated companies in the area. Great rates and very clean rooms, but the decor and luxuries are quite limited. It is convenient for simple business trips and the bistro area is also very limited in food/drink choices, but it provides the bare minimum if you are only staying a day or two. There are no other restaurants nearby, so you need to drive or Uber for 15 minutes away if you need to eat out.
Unfortunately they do not have housekeeping services unless it is critical due to lack of staff due to COVID.

My first night I was given the last room in the hotel. It's clear this hotel caters to people with animals because apparently an animal had urinated in the room and they hadn't done a good job cleaning it. It was disgusting. But at least it was quiet and I slept well (room on first floor). The next day I went to the front desk and they moved me to a room on the top floor. The room was much better, seemed to be newly renovated and it really felt like I was alone in this hotel (I wasn't, it was very full the whole time). It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. The only issue was the air conditioner wasn't working correctly. The wall unit didn't work so you had to adjust it at the unit and it made strange whooshing and pulsating sounds the whole time. Not enough to keep me awake as I had ear plugs. All in all, I was happy with my stay, despite the first night.

Very clean, updated lobby. Guestrooms were very clean and updated.
Great little lobby bar with snacks in the evening.
New, fully stocked food pantry downstairs with drinks, medicine, chips, cookies, etc.
Great location, right off the freeway. Very safe.
Staff was INCREDIBLY helpful the entire time our group was there.
Had a nice time.

I prepaid for 2 days at this hotel. After checking in, I opened the fridge in my room and it had dirt, hair and brown stains in it. I went to the front desk and asked the lady at the front desk if someone could clean it, as I leave to go get food. She said someone would clean it. No one EVER came to clean it. Later, I noticed a few pieces of candy and a used piece of tissue at the base of one of the queen beds in my room. I called the front desk to inform them of it and requested someone clean my room. The lady said it may not be possible because housekeeping service was suspended. I also told her no one cleaned my fridge; she said "sorry". However, no one EVER came to clean the room. Also, I was offered no solutions, no alternatives, no cleaning services, nothing. Later that evening, I walked into the bathroom and noticed stains on the shower floor. So, I used my Clorox wipes to clean everything and sanitize my room, my fridge, the shower, counters, fixtures, etc. I wiped everything down. In this pandemic, I'm appalled that this hotel didn't even do a regular cleaning of my hotel room, let alone any extra sanitation or cleaning. I won't ever stay here again.

Response from Roody Crosby, General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Fort Meade BWI Business District
Responded Aug 31, 2020
Hello Dr-Sunshine2015 Thank you for your feedback which we will share with our team to ensure we are providing the utmost in service during this ongoing pandemic . We utilize professional cleaning products provided by a national vendor and have recently implemented new and improved cleaning procedures due to Covid-19. During this pandemic, to ensure both our guests and our associates remain safe, we limit associate access to the guestrooms. We do provide service upon request such as refreshing of towels, trash removal and a thorough clean upon the guests request. Again, thank you for your feedback. Regards

While this hotel is not horrible, there is much better in this area for the budget. The customer service was absolutely the low point. I have unfortunately stayed in this hotel twice now for work, and the front desk and coffee shop staff seem incredibly annoyed by anyone who checks in or orders a cup of coffee. On my first trip, the microwave in one of my coworker's rooms did not work, and when he informed the front desk they blew him off, telling him a lot of them are broken and they'll fix it when they can. Needless to say, it did not get fixed during our stay. On my second trip, my room did not even have a microwave. I get that not everyone needs a microwave, but it's something I rely on when traveling. There were lots of small room quirks, like sometimes the water in the shower never got hot, or the outlet next to the bed did not work. All of these are excusable in my book, but majority of the staff members I spoke to really put it on a lower level. For a business area with so many hotels, there are many better options.

Rooms were nice, but the “breakfast included” was the worst I’ve had. Basically it was what they would give you if you left too early and the kitchen wasn’t open. But the kitchen was open and you needed to purchase item in order not to be hungry by 9am. Did I mention the cost of items there was exorbitant? I would not stay there again. I’m currently at a Hampton Inn with omelets and waffles included in their complimentary b’fast.

I have stayed at this hotel many times, for months. I work a lot of overtime and some days just don't feel like making my long drive home. Every time I've been here, everyone is professional, room service is fantastic, the front desk personnel are so nice (they call me by name now)...my favorite room is the King suite, which I normally choose, but every other room I've stayed in is excellent. Beds are comf, love the feather pillows, very clean. If I've needed something, they sent someone right away. One time my room phone didn't work and when I told the front desk, someone was at my room ten minutes later to fix it! I have other choices of hotels to stay at, but this Marriott is my chiice and a home away from home. One time I reserved a king studio and upon arrival, they upgraded me to the suite for the same rate as the king studio! Amazing. Like I said, the staff calls me by name now, "Mrs. Wade"....I feel safe, and after very long days, look forward to shutting the world out and rest here at this hotel. I would recommend it to everyone!

I have stayed at many Courtyard Hotels and physically this is one of the nicest. The rooms are clean and nice and the lobby restaurant is fine.
The problem is that the AC/Heat (HVAC) units in the rooms are very noisy. They only work with a high fan speed (auto) and the whole units turns off when the room reaches the correct temperature. The unit also seems louder than normal. The result is that I was waken many times during the night when the HVAC unit cycled on.
I will not stay at this property agian unless they fix/replace the HVAC units.

Stayed at the Courtyard due to proximity of the businesses nearby. Upon checkin the staff seemed new and young. They didn't know when the restaurant would close. They asked someone from the back who informed it was 10pm. Got to the room and had the courtyard touch. The fridge was NOT cleaned and there was bottles and food inside. Yuck! I called and someone came back up to clean it. But this was totally Unacceptable from Marriott! The toiletries were very limited. Internet was free and the tv was a good size one. The lobby does have newspapers and boarding pass printers. Upon checkout, they charged the wrong credit card on file with Marriott, I had to check receipt to catch the fault. Had to go back in to get it fixed. There are no FOOD venues nearby so plan accordingly for dinner after your work day.

We (family of 4 with teenagers) stayed here for 2 nights, May 28-29th. The price ($79 and $99 + taxes per night) was a good value. The room itself was nice, it had a mini-frig and a microwave. The bathroom was very nice-large and clean. The front desk employees were very helpful with directions, suggestions and advice. There is NOTHING in the immediate area, so if you are looking for restaurants, you will have to drive a ways. The $7 breakfast "all you can eat buffet" is nothing more than what you usually get as a free expanded continental breakfast at most hotels--is is NOT worth the price. As a result, we grabbed something on the road.
Overall, I would probably not stay here again, even though the hotel itself is nice. It is too isolated and if I had known more about the area, I would have chosen another hotel.
