Wonderful stay! Suites are so spacious and location is great for walking to nearby restaurants. Staff was superb and always helpful. We were in the 2 bedroom suites and Casco Viejo was so lively, it was enjoyable to see lots of people enjoying all the nightlife. What a gem! We will definitely stay here again.

This is the place!!

In advance of our trip, the manager answered many questions for us regarding transportation, tours and the like.

We never could have imagined how beautiful and luxurious our suite would be on the second floor. On top of the exquisitely decorated and spacious 2nd floor suite, complete with a balcony and access to a quiet courtyard, the management and staff went above and beyond to assist us with all of our questions, they provided helpful h recommendations for dining and gladly provided additional coffee in our favorite flavor from their selections left in the room. The arranged our tours and our drivers to and from the airports.

The location was very safe and we had quick and easy access to many great adventures touring the area treasures, walking in the parks, visiting old China town and tasty restaurants. We recommend Nazca 21 and Tantalo, very close to hotel and wonderful selections. There is also a grocery store nearby if you would like to stock things in the full kitchen in the 2 bedroom suite. Sunday morning is a special treat as the many surrounding churches all ring their bells.

We would recommend this hotel for the above and beyond service, quiet, beauty and very convenient location!

On a side note, we have never had such an incredible selection of television channels, free movies, Netflix and the like in any hotel. Not that you travel to watch television, but we were able to watch the Superbowl live, in English.

The staff at La Isabella was fantastic. From giving advice about how to go about getting our COVID test prior to returning to the states to finding reservations at excellent restaurants on Christmas eve, the staff was thorough and anticipated our every need. They were able to suggest and arrange tours and transports. Check in and check out was very personal and well done.

Our room was at their other location on Plaza Bolivar. It was incredibly spacious and had a balcony which overlooked the square, perfect for spending the evening listening to live music. The room was clean and in excellent condition. My husband even commented that we must have been some of the first to stay there for that reason. The bedroom upstairs had an air conditioner, which provided enough white noise that any music on the plaza did not interfere with sleep. The bed was incredibly comfortable, not too soft and not too hard. The pillows were also wonderfully not too thick or thin.

The only negative was the low water pressure and somewhat slow drain in the shower; otherwise, it was the perfect stay!

We actually stayed at the American Trade Hotel prior to this stay, and we much preferred La Isabella due to the church next to the American Trade Hotel. The bells were very loud. While they stopped at 10 PM, they started early in the morning (sometime before 7 AM) and rang every 15 minutes.

We loved our stay at La Isabela Suites in Casco Viejo! The location is within easy walking distance to all the restaurants and museums, and the rooms are fantastic. We stayed in a two-room suite on the top floor and was huge! A large master with a queen size bed and full modern bath was brand new, and the second bedroom was also large with it's own private bathroom and shower. The living area had a huge kitchen with standard coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker and electric kettle for boiling water for tea. It has a full size refrigerator/freezer so you can cook full meals for yourself if you like.

The best part was the staff. The general manager is very helpful and can book you car service, arrange for restaurant reservations, and more. It's a boutique hotel experience and a very classy hotel for your stay in Panama City. It was a five-star experience.

We spent 10 nights at La Isabela Jan 2020. Our suite on the 2nd floor was terrific as it had a balcony on the street side which was great for morning coffee & a late night drink. The inner courtyard was very spacious & comfortable with lots of plants, seating areas and 2 water features. Was the perfect location out of the sun. There are 4 suites in this building, all having balconies on the street but only the 2nd floor suites have access to the inner courtyard. The 3rd floor suites view the inner courtyard from above from their large inner balcony which also has a sitting area. The building is well maintained & very clean. The suites are large & nicely furnished. The kitchen is sparse if you are planning to cook, but why cook when the streets come alive at night & so many great restaurants close by. Breakfast in the suite was easy to do with what was provided.
La Isabela is on a busy street but the traffic wasn't really an annoyance. Very little traffic noise made it into the suite. You can't avoid traffic anywhere in the colonial area & it moves so slowly down the narrow streets that it isn't a problem. Some drivers used their horns rather aggressively which was a nuisance.
The staff at La Isabela was wonderful and always came through with our requests and also great with answering our questions. Most of our contact was with Andres and he was terrific. If you arrive with a car, La Isabela does have limited off street parking that may be available. A perfect place to stay!

WOW. We had a single night at La Isabela Suites on New Year's Eve to round out our 10 days in Panama. What an excellent property. It is discretly nestled in the heart of a lively district. We were greeted by the concierge with buckets of bottled water and a list of local recommendations for every meal (each less than 2 blocks away and excellent), and for wine to bring in the New Year. The suites themselves are luxurious and comfortable without being over done. We were top floor in a 2 BR, 2 bath suite, across the hall from another family we traveled with. The patio & balcony out the back door was as charming and private is it gets. NYE festitives were in full force, but the bedrooms were surprisingly quiet. We had an 430 am departure for the airport, which the property arranged. They really take pride in their business and anticipated every want and need to make our short stay comfortable and wonderful. If you are in PC and in search of a place to stay to experience the culture and vibe of the city, stay here!!

This was our second stay at La Isabela Suites and again the staff did not disappointment us. The ammenites are room and immaculately arranged, crown moldings and such details into care.
Again, the staff is available to help with any issue and to answer any questions. Quality is always high and visiting again made our vacation.

Recently stayed at La Isabela after 10 days in an isolated area in NE Panama. Arrived tired and travel-frazzled; can't say enough how the manager Andres made our family feel welcome. The hotel is beautifully decorated; spotless rooms, but not sterile or cold; elegant without being snobby. Wonderful, quiet A/C, good internet, nice bathrooms. Nicely appointed kitchen suite, with all that we needed. Small details that made us feel welcome included not just complimentary tea and Panamanian coffee, but a container of fresh milk in the fridge to go with. Another example: at checkin, knowing we were new to the area, Andres marked a map to show useful places, like stores, scenic attractions, restaurants, and a pharmacy. I made a side comment to a family member noting that we would finally be able to get a toiletry item which had been in short supply during our trip. We had been in our room 15 minutes when there was a knock on the door, and Andres delivered a package of the item we needed, which he had picked up without asking. A small courtesy but it meant a lot after a long day of travel. One thing to be aware of: the hotel is on a very busy street in a part of Panama City that feels like party central. It was fun to sit at the front living room balcony, and watch the hustle and bustle of the street below. That said, some of the passing cars had stereo music playing so loud that it rattled the balcony windows. The bedrooms of our suite were set back and in general were somewhat insulated from street noise, but not completely. It wasn't as though there was a bar nearby that played music non stop; once the car moved through, the noise went away; but for very light sleepers, you'd want a suite or bedroom as far away from the road as possible. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed 5 nights in a one bedroom suite in its other building called Hotel Columbia. A few wonderful offerings were immediately noticed. Two examples were the very fluffy and very white towels (we felt very spoiled) and a Skype messaging set-up to be used to communicate to the staff in the main building. Boy, did we receive a reply back right away (So efficient and so 21st century). In the first couple of days, a few minor issues about the suite were discovered. Every one of them was resolved within 24 hours. To compensate for our inconvenience, the manager kindly offered a free upgrade to a 2-bedroom suite in the main building for the remainder of our stay. We declined based on personal reasons. This hotel is well run because of its very professional staff. I would have given a 5-star rating had it not been the live music being played outside of our window from 8 to 11:30 every night. (The building faces a plaza. There were three restaurants on the first floor. To entertain their dinner clients, live music was played. Our suite was on the second floor facing the plaza. For an early nighter, it was a little annoying.)

La Isabela Suites is rated so highly for a reason, while I stayed at the annex / executive suites location, I still received wonderful service from the staff including the driver from the airport, the check in team and Andres who was very available via WhatsApp throughout my entire stay. While I was a solo female traveler, I felt very safe in the Casco Viejo area and in the executive suite (about 4-5 blocks from the main location for the hotel). I had an absolutely massive patio / private balcony that was charming and had good shade in the afternoon and was overlooking a charming square. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Great bathroom. Coffee, tea and bottled water included. I would absolutely choose this property again the future. The executive suites are within a larger apartment / condo complex that a few other units on my floor, however I never saw anyone else except the friendly door man. And because the main door on the street side was locked and I was able to deadbolt my door and be on the second floor, I felt extremely safe and well cared for in a nice part of town!

Dear Ms. Nancy, At La Isabela Suites we currently do not offer breakfast, but all of our suites have a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal and there is a small grocery store just 3 minutes away walking from our main building. Another option is to try some of the great restaurants and coffee shops that offer breakfast at Casco Antiguo located between 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from La Isabela Suites. We will gladly give you recommendations and point in the map the options available based on your preferences at your check in. Con nuestros mejores saludos, Andres

How far is this hotel from the Panama Canal?
Answer from LaIsabelaSuites
Panama City, Panama2 contributions
Dear Ms. Nancy, Thank you for your interest in La Isabela Suites. It will be my pleasure to answer your question. The Panama Canal has 2 principal visitors centers at two of its locks. One is the Miraflores locks located just 15 to 20 minutes aprox (depends on traffic) away in car from La Isabela Suites, this is the most visited visitors center for its proximity to Panama City, located on the pacific side of Panama, and the great museum with amazing facts that it offers. The second one is the Aguas Claras locks located at the Caribbean side of Panama, this is 1.5 to 2 hours away in car aprox(depends on traffic) from La Isabela Suites, this is the recently opened visitors center, here you may see the new wider locks the Government recently inaugurated, an amazing engineering work. If you have a reservation with us and need transportation to any of the two visitors center please let me know, it will be my pleasure to arrange the service for you. Con nuestros mejores saludos, Andres

Dear Robin, We completely understand your concern. Our main objective is that our guest have the best experience during their visit to Panama and Casco Antiguo is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Central America. To recommend a suite I would need to know your plans during the trip, because each type of suite has benefits that fit the preferences of our guest. The one bedroom suite is a great option, because of the comfort, price and view of the beautiful plaza(Bolivar square), but if you plans to go to sleep early in the night, this would not be the best option because at the plaza there are frequently musicians that play until 11-11:30pm for the clients of the restaurants that surround the plaza, and the music can be heard in the suite(this is a feature that most of our guest love because it creates a unique ambiance very authentic of Casco Antiguo). Therefore, I would recommend the two-bedroom suites at our main building because she will be able to sleep comfortably early at night. However, if you plan to go out at night, plan to sleep late and appreciate a great view in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee, I would recommend the one bedroom suite at our sister building. Because in front of the two bedroom suites, there are buildings that are being renovated right now and the construction noise could be heard during the day in the living room and kitchen of the suites of the main building from 7:30am to 5pm. If the dates you want to come to Casco Antiguo is from January 11th to January 14th, we only have available our one bedroom suites at the moment. These suites are located at our sister building called Hotel Colombia 5 minutes walking distance from the main building. Is important to point out, that in all of our suites there are tablets that our guests can use to communicate with reception 24/7 for any request or doubt they might have. Con nuestros mejores saludos, Andres
