I stopped in Panama City for a few days this April. Honestly when traveling the most important things to me are security, AC and Wi-Fi is a plus. In the outskirt neighborhood of Calidonia, not to close and not to far from all the sites. I did my laundry and got my haircut across the street. There are little greasy food stands and mini markets, if you need a late night snack bottled water or forgot a travel item, just steps away. Staff is courteous and attentive. Only minus was that there is no safe in the room, but the building is secure and I never had any doubts.
Older hotel in a good location for food service, laundry, small market stores and walkable to Balboa Ave as well as several other venues. Hotel is clean and functional. There are two elevators and a swimming pool. There is a restaurant but it was open during my stay, most likely because of Easter Sunday.
I was in this hotel for two nights. Overall the hotel had everything that I needed for my short stay in Panama City; clean room, good location, near the metro, near places to eat and shop. All the staff were friendly and helpful. If you don't want pay a lot for a hotel room in Panama City this is a good place to stay, and remember to bring shampoo because they won't have any in the rooms.
This is an economical hotel and a price range for this kind of travel. I have no idea why folks would be complaining at the price. Hell, this is a Hostel price and you get to stay in a Hotel. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay then this might be your spot. They have free wifi and a restaurant downstairs where you can get stuff to eat most of the day. It also has a bakery on the corner where you can grab stuff if the restaurant is too costly for you. They have a few computers that you can use in the lobby. I saw mostly people staying here that came to shop in panama. A lot f Cubans from cuba and other central and south american travelers. The room decor is definitely a littler tired and your going to see bedding that has seen better days, but for the most part it was clean. Try not to stay on the via espana side or you will never sleep. Ask to stay in the back of the hotel. The hotel also has parking if you have a car. I found the staff pleasant and helpful in both the hotel and restaurant.…
The night manager Carlos made me wait 25 minutes before he answered my question. Very rude and obnoxious. Should not work in the hospitality industry. Definitely will not book this hotel again. I travel all over Panamá. This individual should not deal with the public.
About 30 minutes from airport. Never been there before but enjoyed the ride by taxi. Could have stayed closer but the city was beautiful at night. You won't believe the skyline. As for the hotel, out of the Hemingway days. Spartan room with basics. Polite but no English spoken. Will again stay there on way back to USA. Budget stay.
Affordable, clean room. Comfortable bed and close, by taxi to Casco Viejo. Continental breakfast included. Arrived late and tired. With my limited Spanish and hand gestures was able to check in quickly and get settled in. The room had ample storage, although I didn't use it for this visit. The bathroom was spotless and plenty of hot water. I loved the late checkout as I wanted to visit casco viejo in the morning and get to the airport by 3pm.
Beautiful view of the city, food on the top floor was delightful. The shower? OMG...it's the largest shower ever! Taxi service was great....staff...all good! High thread count sheets, towels and linens. Large, plenty of room to spread out...
Hotel is situated in a main street, where locals lives but is safe as they have cameras all over the place in the common areas. It is close to a bus station, very nice and clean coffee shop, corner stores for daily groceries, pharmacy. They have a small pool, parking and offer a free breakfast that was made of a Coffee and 3 slices of toasted bread with butter. The rooms are clean as there is daily housekeeping. The air conditioner is very noisy as is an old system and the washrooms are very tiny but clean. The bed was looking good at first but in the morning we wake with heavy pain on our back as we were sleeping on rocks. Not very fancy but good enough for spending 2-3 days in Panama. There was a lady at the reception that speaks very good English and was very helpful but all the others were all nice but no English at all.…
I stayed here 1 night. We took a cap from Albrook Bus Terminal. It cost us $3. I found their hotel website and booked our room online. When I received the confirmation email reference the booking, the dates were wrong. So, we showed up anyways after trying to sort it out over the phone. At check in it was very confusing. The two young girls were too busy talking to them selves rather then trying to sort out my room. Very rude and unprofessional. But eventually I got my room. Even though I booked it on line and they requested my credit card, the girls at the front desk told me that my card was not charged. So, I payed for it again. The room was clean and very basic. The hotel has a restaurant and small bar that closes at 6 PM. The service there was not bad. The servers were friendly and helpful. Expensive, but convenient. I went to the front desk to try to get a bucket or container to but the use in. I found the ice machine but there's no ice buckets. Lol. Extremely hard to get the staff to understand that I found the ice machine but all I wanted is a container. So, I put my ice in two grocery bags. Lol When I ordered the room I ordered breakfast extra. So in the morning we went down for our breakfast and the server said the breakfast we ordered was just toast and juice. So, that was surprising. Especially for an extra $5.50. But it all worked out. The AC suck, the rooms stink and there's no airport shuttle as it stated in their web site. Other then that for the price, in a pinch. It was not that bad. Great location friendly staff but lacking English. But we were in Panama and the majority of the locals don't speak English. …
