The hotel is very, very clean. It is centrally located and not far from anything. I reserved a regular room but somehow was upgraded to a suite. I wasn't in the room except to sleep in the evenings, so didn't need the large rooms but upgrading my stay was a pleasant surprise. People rave about the breakfast, even people that live in Panama City. The water in the shower was stuck on scalding hot, but I just jumped in the tub where the water temperature could be changed. As of today, I will stay at the Executive Hotel again.
I was happy with my stay at the Executive Hotel - my priorities are usually that it's a good price (neither the highest nor the lowest) in a good, mostly centrally located area, that's clean and safe. This checked all of those boxes with no frills. This part of town is where I wanted to be, and was able to walk quite a bit to the areas I was interested in, and it was a good pickup location for the additional tours I booked. I would say that the front desk staff was pretty hit or miss, with one person helping me out so much that I was so very grateful, and others not interested in answering my questions at all.
The Executive Hotel is clean, very comfortable, in an excellent location in Panama City. There are several restaurants very close by and the metro is a short walk up the street. There are several stores to go shopping in the area. There is a very good breakfast included in your room rate as well. The staff is eager to help you out with anything you may need. I have stayed at 27 different hotels in Panama over the years and The Executive Hotel is my favorite by far. I have been a guest here 4 times in the past and am staying there again this February. The service surpasses hotels that are three times the cost in Panama. Do not hesitate to stay here.
I have traveled quite a bit throughout the world , and one of my idiosyncrasy’s is to observe the promptness of elevators . Without any doubt whatsoever I have found the WORST ELEVATORS IN THE WORLD at the Executive Hotel in Panama. THE WORST . If you like waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting to getting to your room , while the elevators are doing whatever they want , this is the place for you . They have a personality of their own and they jump floors like you have never seen before . You can wait 10 minutes and keep on waiting . On this trip , my room’s air conditioner had a party of it’s own with drums and maracas , I wish I could include sounds in this review because I recorded it to show it at reception ; I did , it took 5 days for the technician to show up before my room was changed . The cable TV this hotel offers is so cheap and obsolete that if you watch some of the sports they offer , half of the players are already dead or in wheelchairs . The included breakfast has changed after the pandemia . Nothing like before . The quality has diminished considerably .…
The hotel is well located downtown. The room we got was fairly large, with a balcony. Daily housekeeping and replenishment of toiletries was routinely done. Tea/Coffee maker provided in the room. The breakfast served in the restaurant was decent. Covid protocols were well in place. Would highly recommend staying in this place.
The Executive Hotel is great for budget conscious travelers who want a great bang for their buck. You won't get the million dollar views as other hotels, but this place gets the job done. Within walking distance of many restaurants as well as a metro station (if you choose to utilize it). Never felt unsafe walking around the area at night. Room is comfortable but no frills. AC was dodgy at times as well as the toilet. Not sure if you come on vacation to watch tv but if you do, not a big selection of channels. Balcony is a nice plus especially at night where you can just breathe deep and listen to the city. Staff is friendly but it's best you know some Spanish if you want to best communicate with them. Hotel bar and restaurant was clean and reasonably priced. Overall, I think it's a great value for central Panama City.…
The hotel has free parking and check-in was easy with friendly staff. The rooms are corporate but well equipped and had a small balcony. There was a little dampness in the corner of the room, but it was barely noticeable. Wifi was very poor and I struggled to get a signal in my room. The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast was great! The location is away from the best bars/restaurants/ old town, but there were a lot of hotels in the district and there are plenty of eateries nearby (many are open late). All in all a pretty decent hotel, very comfortable and quiet but really needs to upgrade wifi!
Does NOT deserve the 4 star rating. 3 star at best. Firstly they messed up the long standing airport shuttle request and it was a nightmare getting it re-instated whilst travelling with multiple emails simply unanswered. The worst is that Room 911 had NO hot water and maintenance managed to adjust it to lukeish warm at best. They were clearly aware of the problem but put me there anyway. Wasted my whole morning and missed meetups, finally being moved to another room. With one or two exceptions, the English skills are severely lacking and whilst Spanish is the Panamanian language one would expect better from a 4 star hotel. Reception staff especially could improve I am booked and paid for 3 nights. Due to the wasted day I had due to THEIR problems, instead of offering a 4th night at no charge, they offered an unacceptably low 10% discount for a 4th night. Pretty pathetic gesture. Rob Wellman…
This is a nice, modern hotel and everything looks nice, well kept, and very clean. Check in was quick and easy. Simple, comfortable room was perfect for me, maybe just a bit cozy for a couple. The room was very pleasant and had the right accessories - especially the desk area. Lighting was rather poor. The shower is attractive but very poorly designed. I don't care for the combination of rainfall shower head and handheld shower. Unless one is very careful with the handheld shower, water hits the door area and leaks out to make a puddle on the floor of the rest of the bathroom. Hot water always available - though it might have been just a bit hotter. In searching numerous hotels, it seemed difficult to find a room with a small fridge in it - this one has it. If only they also had a microwave! WiFi was very good at all times. Breakfast was adequate with a reasonable selection, but quite unorganized. It seems that anything with meat is way overcooked both at breakfast and in the restaurant at other times. Smokers are made to feel very unwelcome! There is a large open air area off the lobby where smokers could relax without troubling other guests - but not allowed. The only place smoking is allowed is in the driveway or outdoor parking area on the side of the hotel. Some reasonable accommodation could easily be made. The location is good. If you want American fast food or to take the Metro (subway) a leisurely 10 minute walk gets you there. McDonalds, Wendys, Subway, Dominos, and a couple of other restaurants and a bakery in a single strip next to one another. STRANGE STORY about booking a room... I booked for 6 nights and while I was there wanted to extend my stay another day. It couldn't be done either at the desk or through booking website - nothing available. HOWEVER, I was able to book a NEW reservation online for a room - ended up, of course, with the same room for an extra night.…
Overall, I was quite pleased with this place. It’s located kinda in no man’s land between the downtown and Casco Viejo, but Uber is super cheap and readily available. The rooms are spacious and clean. Check in & out was efficient. Breakfast was average, but filled me up until dinner. I used the gym both days I was there, which cheered me up, and the pool area is relaxing.
