There are some ups and some downs. Unfortunately, one tends to remember the down sides more. Only two people at the front desk seem to know what they are doing. I had to specify my departure date three times (3) before it was entered correctly. The others are clearly unenthusiastic about their job. Miscalculations about arrivals left only one employee to deal with a queue of business guests. It took ages to check in and one guest was directed to a room that hadn't been cleaned. The common areas are nice enough and the staff on both the café, the bar, and the restaurant are very nice. The food is acceptable. Breakfast is good although terribly repetitive. The bar area closes early for food. But there are shortcomings. Surely, there is someone who could wipe down all the finger marks on the elevator. Surely there should be a shower at the pool. I didn't find the idea of sweaty people cooling (and rinsing) off in the pool appealing. It's a shame in such temperatures. The room decor is quite tired, actually practically inexistant. There must have been a frame on the wall in my room and it was moved to please another guest because my room was left with only the nail in the wall. You can clearly see where the mop stops at the limit of the sink. The area underneath is grimy. There are many more marks of lack of care that the housekeeper ought to notice. But is there a housekeeper?

Hotel's Favorite
Situated almost underneath the Bridge of the Americas and right alongside where the Pacific meets the Panama Canal, we had jaw-dropping views from the balcony of tankers and container ships passing by. The MarineTraffic app told us all about them. Our room had a separate seating area with fridge and microwave but was badly in need of paint and minor repairs. The pool was large - it needed to be on Christmas Day when 40 children were playing in it though much quieter when families had gone home. The food was just about acceptable. Better to take a cheap taxi to the seafood restaurants on the causeway islands.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past couple years and have consistently received excellent service, and a clean and comfortable room. The hotel is conveniently located and some rooms have a great view of the ships entering and leaving the Panama Canal. The restaurant serves good food and there is also a Fridays restaurant connected to the property. I remember having an issue with booking once and it was resolved quickly and fairly. The price I have paid has always been worth the money. I look forward to my next visit.

Great hotel location for seeing the ships come & go through the canal . We had an ocean view room - definitely recommend- & could watch the ships with a great view. Food was a bit lacking although we had a lovely meal sitting on the deck of TGI Fridays - part of the hotel. The coffee bar had very little food. Restaurant is buffet. Cabs are cheap to local restaurants. BIG Mall a short cab ride away. Pool area is nice, Would recommend

I chose this place to be right on the causeway next to the BioMuseo (and where you can rent bikes, rollerblades, etc) and a little closer to the canal. The kids liked that there was a TGI Friday inside the hotel and loved the big pool. It's a solid choice.

My regular fact based review AC - worked good WiFi - worked good Hot Water in Shower - plenty T-Mobile Service - yes Power Outlets - plenty Towels - soft Sheets - clean Breakfast - did not try it Bed - comfortable Room decor - very plain Room cleanliness - good Daily room cleaning - yes Room turn down services in evening - No Safe for valuables - yes Pool - yes Parking - yes Noise - the halls echo and you can hear it in the room Food in restaurant - one was closed though advertised as open. TFI service was poor Safety in hotel / area - good Maintenance of room - poor (mold in bathroom tub calling). Hotel has potential but it’s run down. Please note that I am a very easy going traveler that has enjoyed the very high-end and 3rd world basics. I have low to medium expectations. It does not take much to make me happy and I get enjoyment out of the little things.

This hotel is close to the entrance to the Panama Canal. Excellent views. Also, close to a walkway along the canal entrance. Not the fanciest hotel, but clean and functional. The staff is amazing. Ask for anything and it will be provided promptly and cheerfully. Actually, they will probably ask you is you need anything before you can even ask. If you want to see the Canal from a pleasant and friendly location, you could not do better.

The room was perfect for my needs , the TGIF connected to the hotel was a huge convenience , the location to Canal House or Yacht Club is great . I would say that the staff could look at you and speak to you when they see you , mostly just the front desk , the housekeeping staff I ran into were very nice .
