We arrived in the dark, hired a cab to this hotel. The cab driver was not familiar with it so make sure you have the area (el dorado), and the address handy! Expect a $25-30 cab ride from Tocuman! Prior to our arrival we emailed the hotel about transportation and they offered a driver for $32, i would suggest this for ease of arrival! Our first impression was that the area was a bit scummy, which on second look wasn't far off! We were out during the daylight and night hours and felt safe at all times despite the appearance! We booked through hotels.com weeks in advance but on arrival they did not have our reservation but gave us a room without question once we showed them our confirmation! Our room was on the 12 floor and provided some really nice views of the city and swimming pool, elevators are fast and sound like slot machines! Swimming pool is in a separate building but we weren't there long enough to utilize it:( Rooms are very spacious and plain, with a small kitchenette. Only mirror in the room is in the bathroom where it's really small! Water pressure good and hot showers if wanted! Fast wifi everywhere in hotel, TV worked well, channels mostly in Spanish! Hotel was quiet, doors let some noise in but walls and windows seem sound proof! Beds are comfortable with lots of comfy pillows! Linens are clean, lacking face and hand towels. Continental breakfast was your typical north american foods, fresh fruit, toast, French toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs with a Panamanian meat dish! Coffee was strong and yummy! The hotel is in a small plaza with a bunch of failing businesses which is a shame because the plaza has huge potential. There are a couple of restaurants around the hotel that look respectable, Lenos and Carlo and TGIF, otherwise there are several Chinese restaurants to choose from and a chic pizza place! Lots of choices within a few blocks including McDonalds! For independence there is a Super 99 grocery store a block away with everything you would ever need! If your adventurous you could walk downtown via the main road, Ricardo J. Alfaro Way, in 45 minutes, pretty good eye opener of what the city is like! Otherwise there are local buses, red devil's, that run up and down this main road all day, price unknown! Other local attractions in the area is the El Dorado Mall....mostly a local shopping center, very interesting and fun, and 5 minutes by cab is the Albrook Mall (North American shops) and Albrook Airport, domestic flights with Air Panama! All in all, this hotel has easy access to downtown, Marina's and airports! All in all, this is not a bad hotel as a short stay place to get your bearings, downtown can get very busy and this spot is a good alternative to that hustle and bustle!

I always review hotels before i make my decison. Especially if i am not familiar with the area. After reading some of the recent reviews i was skeptical of this hotel. I am very picky when it comes to staying in any hotel. If you are not from the area, it can be difficult to locate the building as the sign of the hotel is on side of the casino. That would be my only negative about this place. When we arrived there was valet parking and doorman whom offered to take our things up to the room. I told him we could manage and gave him a tip anyway.

The hotel is VERY nice and clean. I read a few reviews where people complained there rooms
were dirty on "booking.com." I seriously would like to see photos of those rooms. We were

on the 8th Floor and the room was absolutely spotless. The rate we got for this room was great. I would put it in the range of staying at Embassy Suites/Hilton standard prices. We had direct access to the casino from the hotel. I also read there was no Security also on booking.com. Whomever wrote that must be blind. I dont like to call people liars but they speak the untruth. There were 3 armed Policia outside the front of the Casino which is attached to the hotel and there were Security inside. There is always someone at the desk and a doorman. Secondly if you ask the front desk where anything is located, they will be happy to tell you. We did not order room service as the area is too nice to stay coupled up in the room. The staff was very helpful to us. We stayed in a Deluxe King Superior Room. If you get a chance to go to the spa, we recommend that too.

If you are thinking of booking this place, we would recommend it. I would stay again.

If possible request a room on the higher floors. They are quieter. The town can be very busy with traffic during the day due to location. There is also a TGI Fridays next to the hotel. A good choice in my opinion.

I thought that is hotel was fine. The room was big with a microwave, coffee pot, fridge and kitchen utensils plus and ironing board and iron. It had a nice big balcony and the bed and pillows were super comfortable for me. Walk in shower had average pressure. The location seemed fine - there were lots of shops and restaurants around. There were lots of electrical sockets and wi fi was free and worked well. My only complaint is the lighting. It was all very dim and i wished i had brought a headlamp so i could read in bed comfortably. The bathroom was very dim too. Also don't forget to press the button ( you cant see it but will easily feel it) on the back of the safe door before you lock it. Otherwise you won't be able to open it! The breakfast buffet was small but adequate. It is not a full service hotel, ie. no restaurant or bar. The front desk people were helpful enough though English was a bit of a challenge for some of them. Overall not a bad choice if it is in the location you want.

We decided to get away for the weekend. After doing research, this was our choice. The fact there is a TGI Fridays next store made me happy. Our room was on one of the higher floors, so there was no sound from the traffic outside. There is a Spa & Casino which I highly recommend. The rooms & hotel was very clean. Front desk was helpful and friendly. There is also Valet parking. I will definitely be back.

My husband and I were staying in this hotel with another couple for 7 nights. The first 5 nights were OK, but we had to complain every single day for a reason or another: one day we had no towels, the other day they just forgot to clean our room, etc.

Then we left 2 days to Bocas del Toro, and they offered to keep our suitcases so we wouldn't travel heavy. When we returned to the hotel 2 days later, we gave the 4 tickets corresponding to the 4 suitcases, and to our surprise, were only given 3 suitcases back. We first demanded to talk to the General Manager, but we were told that since it was Sunday and his day off, we had to wait until Monday. We then asked to see the security cameras but they didn't agreed until the police arrived. Out of 20 cameras, only 2 were working. The only conclusion we arrived was that the luggage was stolen by the staff, but we couldn't see exactly who. The General Manager finally arrived from his "day off" and told us that they couldn't do anything for us, but they wold conduct an investigation and would let us know.

It's been 3 weeks and the hotel hasn't responded yet to the problem.

Good luck with staying there!

This is the nastiest, dirtiest, most disgusting place to stay in Panama City. The smell is so awful we had to leave after 1 night! Very sketchy as well. Nothing worked, the pool is in a mysterious location away from the main hotel and there were disgusting, questionable stains everywhere. It is also a hotel of "questionable repute" by evidence of extra payments they have for "night time entertainers and escorts" as written on their room policies. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

I stayed at the Central Park Hotel this July and enjoyed the location which is in the El Dorado area of Panama City. There were restaurants and shopping close within walking distance. I walked around the neighborhood during the day and did not feel uncomfortable. The staff was very helpful, upon my arrival I was given a room that overlooked a building. I was not empressed since I was going to be their for a week. I called the front desk and they were able to get a room higher up with a view of the city. The room had a sink, dining table, microwave and refrigerator. My only complaint they did not have ice machines on every floor. The bed was very comfortable and slept very well. The room had free wifi, a little slow but adequate for my use.
The breakfast was good, you could have eggs, fruit, yogart, toast, etc....enough to carry you through to lunch.
The El Dorado Mall was in walking distance and the Allbrook Mall (one of the largest I think in Panama City) was a short taxi away. The pool was not in operation at the time and with the Panama heat I really could have used it.
There is a Casino next door all though I did not gamble. The Casino is small and there were repairs going on.
There was suppose to be a Spa at the hotel. The front desk said that it had closed down but recommended another Spa close by.
I would stay there again and have recommended it to my friends.

We had to stay at this hotel for 8 days ,
Our business expo was at Altapa , Panama is city of heavy and irrational traffic,
At almost the same or little higher price , hotel Sheraton would have got us comfort and value for money,
The traffic in the city is unbearable and taxis have no meters and it is always to bargain without logic,

Breakfast at the Hotel is very bad ,Adding to it we being vegetarians had lot of trouble and had to live with only fruits and breads ( not a good stuff) Gym and Spa was under renovation
Overall ,we did not enjoy our stay and hence we booked one night at Trump Hotel ,one of the fantastic experiences with little extra cost.

Unless you are on a diet and appreciate frugal meals, you are not going to like this place. Service is below average, don't have a restaurant, it is hard to get a taxi and price is the same of better hotels. Wifi is annoying and it is not reliable. But Spa was great : when you get angry about thei service, you can book a massage with hot stones for US$ 70 ! and it is great.
