Stayed here for one night before going on to another previously booked accommodation. Staff were very helpful when we arrived late in the evening . Rooms were spacious, clean and included coffee maker, Fridge, free Wi-Fi and big TV . Breakfast 7to 10, was simple cereal, fruit, juice, boiled eggs, toast tea, coffee and fresh milk all include in the price.situated in a quiet side street with a short walk to eateries, most important it had a small lift. Didn't have time to use the pool but it looked good. Reasonablely priced near to cruise terminals. Would stay here againlll

This is a a nice older hotel that has been upgraded and well taken care of. It’s 1 mile to Flamenco Marina, ferry & cruise terminal. The rooms are large and all have a balcony. Air conditioner worked well and beds were comfortable. Nice bath with rain shower head but not much water pressure. Included breakfast was cereal, toast, lunch meat, cheese, boiled eggs & fruit. Employees are very nice. Hotel is located in a very family friendly area next to a very good restaurant. Pool was nice and clean but beach was iffy. Would recommend.

This hotel has spacious rooms that are clean and nicely equipped. The location was perfect for us to spend a couple of days relaxing before finishing our trip to Panama. We enjoyed the city and harbor views from the balcony, There's a great park right net door with sloths, anteaters, raccoons and lots of birdlife. There are good restaurants around and good biking and walking paths. The breakfast is very basic, but sufficient. The parking spots beside the road can be very hard to get out of, better back into them.

We spent two nights at The Beach House. Our 3rd-floor room had floor-to-ceiling windows that looked onto the marina and the bay. The views of the Amador and the city were beautiful from both our room and our balcony. It was great having both a fridge and coffee maker in the room since we had to leave before they served breakfast both days we stayed. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance. When we stayed there the nature park next door was closed due to covid, and the swimming pool was being maintained. However, when we arrived early due to an overnight flight, they let us check into our room as soon as it was available. We were so grateful! They also kept our luggage for the day after we checked out so that we could go to Tobaga Island before departing on the next part of our journey. I felt like they were very thoughtful and accommodating. This hotel is a great choice.

If it wasn't for the pool I'd have given a higher rating.

I stayed in the hotel for 11 nights. No complaints about it as I had a nice big room, everything was clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Unfortunately, the pool area lets the hotel down very badly and it was because there was a pool that I had chosen to stay there. I checked with 2 different people and they confirmed it was part of the hotel. The pool itself was clean but that's all I can say that's positive. There was rubbish all round the edges of the pool area, including under the stairs, the artificial grass was a mess with bits of debris on it, there were no sunbeds (the photo is clearly well out of date), there were 3 old, scruffy and dirty mattresses and the white plastic chairs were dirty. The screens covering the stored paddleboards around the sides were dirty and had bird poo on them. There were weeds.

Interestingly, at weekends when there were a lot of paddle boarders, sun umbrellas, clean chairs and an awning were put out. It's a pity that the hotel guests, who were paying to stay there, weren't treated so well.

There were 1, sometimes 2, men 'working' there. For hours every day they sat staring at their mobile phones, doing absolutely nothing.

Perhaps this is just down to personal taste but the noisy music from the 2 adjacent restaurants was awful.

Someone needs to take a good look at the pool area, get it cleaned up and invest in some sunbeds, mattresses and clean chairs. It needs to be actively managed rather than just left to deteriorate.

Be warned: if you want a hotel with a nice pool to relax beside, and peace and quiet, go elsewhere.

A wonderful large room. I loved the fact that the AC was controllable to my taste. The beds are comfortable, but the tv could be a little bigger (changing times!). The staff was friendly, and my room was quiet. The shower is ample and the stream of water was 100% American USA! It is ideally located and you can enjoy a day or two here and have plenty to do!!

Booked thru Orbitz; they were no help in getting refund of $50 which the front desk overcharged us. Hotel Refused to refund charge card and denied that they had gotten permission for no charge late check out. We had gotten into hotel at midnight and asked to leave stuff in room till 2:00pm after breakfast.. We watched the woman make the call asking for permission for no charge. She told us no charge.
At the same time we where checking out , the cab arrived to pick us up and driver asked for $60 into Panama City. We said it was only $8.00--which we did find a driver on the street. The employees were standing around the cab telling us that $60 was FAIR.
So STAFF ARE CROOKS----VENESSA , the manager, was supposed to e mail me and never did. Orbitz gave us her name as one who would follow up.
THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME THE NAME OF THE COMPANY THAT OWNED THE HOTEL EITHER.
TOILET RAN ALL NIGHT.
After what happened, I would be concerned about safety in rooms from staff.

My daughter stayed here for one night last night (6/20) during a medical mission trip organized by University of Florida. During the night, while she and her room mate (18 and 19 years of age) were asleep, someone entered the room and stole all their cash from their wallets. When security played the footage of the night, there was a gap in footage during the hours of 12am and 12:20am. This seems very suspicious. They will not take responsibility even though the girls had the money in their wallets before they went to sleep and it was gone the next morning.
There was no break-in, so this had to be an "inside job" by someone with a room key.
It is horrifying to think what could have happened if they awoke during the crime. Thank God they are both safe, but this is horrifying to hear about a hotel that claims to be 5 star and very safe.
DO NOT STAY HERE.

Response from frontd507, Front Office Manager at The Beach House Panama City
Responded Jul 21, 2016
We are terrible sorry to hear about such experience with our hotel. Management was in contact with hotel security and local police officer, and we brought them in to inspect the room and video footage. Their opinion based on evidence and video footage shows there was no sign of someone break in the room and employees didn´t move from the front desk all night. No camera show any evidence of activity in front of the door as well. We did try to get the school trip organizer to check on video and evidence according to law enforcement but they repeatedly ignored our calls. Its very unfortunate your daughter left with such a bad taste from our hotel. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused due to this.

That's the best advice I could give, I stayed here some 4 nights as part of a very big business group ( we had half the hotel )

1) the require a credit card on deposit but hey they don't take corporate Amex ...

2) 'a towel on the floor means you would like a new one' - no it doesn't it means they will pick it up and put it back on the rack ....

3) do you like salsa music - you better if you stay on a Saturday - it starts at midnight and ends at sunrise ( as does the traffic )

4) Nowhere within a mile does breakfast !

5) can we have a late checkout ? ( now remember we're part of a big group ) 'sure $70 for two hours ......'

6) the term 'Beach' and 'hotel' are slightly misleading - the beach is actually the back corner do a tidal marina and the hotel as no facilities .......

7) As other reviews have said the staff seem totally bemused with facial expressions that border on the rabbit in the headlights ...... NO is the default answer

The Beach House has many things going for it and I agree with the other reviewers who praise its location, view and rooms. I'm giving it a poor rating for three specific concerns:

1) Days after we checked out we were charged $53.50 for taking a robe that we didn't take. I suspect the missing robe was unknowingly taken out with the towels after checkout and have asked that they recheck their inventory. Exacerbating the situation, the hotel has been unresponsive to my attempts to resolve the matter and/or speak with a manager.

2) We stayed seven nights and three times are room was not cleaned by housekeeping. In their defense two of those days we spent a lot of time around the hotel, but even on those days there were several hours when the room was vacant. IMPORTANT: when cleaned, the room was impressively clean.

3) Several times we asked for help calling a taxi and the front desk was willing to give us phone numbers but not call themselves. Charges for the calls varied from $.15 to $2.35 with tax, but the real problem was the hassle. In addition, the taxi we rode to the airport at their suggestion was driven by someone who did not seem to be in full control of his faculties.
