It's a $40 p/night hotel with very good condition. It's near to almost everything and al least for me and my wife, which were for here to there around the country and for what matters to stay a night and get some rest, it was excellent!

Not a quality hotel, But an Ok place to stay in with good prices. The room is Ok with A/C, private bathroom and TV. Costs 35$ for a double bed, 40$ for twins. The location isn't so good, should be careful. If you want an Ok place just to sleep in, that's the one.

Well, Hotel Venecia is not a bad place to be at. The location is fairly good (just 25 minutes away from Panama's old town by foot) and rates are pretty excellet too. Just don't expect too much: rooms are really simple, no coffee maker in the room, no breakfast -- but there's air conditioning which is really good given the temperatures in Panama. I'm a solo female traveller (I got to spend a few days here as part of a IntrepidTravel group, and then a few extra nights by myself) and let me tell you that the place is safe. The neighbourhood might look a little dodgy and I would not feel safe walking around alone at night (take a taxi!!) but there is always someone at the reception and I didn't see any 'strange faces' walking around. Sure, there are better places to stay in Panama City. But if you're looking for a cheap and ok accomodation this hotel will do --- There's also a restaurant in the lobby area. Got dinner there a couple of times and it was really good and prices were reasonable. I'd stay here again if I'd be on a budget!

If you want a cheap hotel and are not looking for anything fancy or in a good area this could be perfect. The hotel is a bit run down with a busy street outside, there is traffic most of the night. The AC didn't come on until after midnight probably controlled by reception. Just 2 blocks away you have a very run down slum, unless you have a death wish suggest you avoid this area. The cafe next door wasn't very friendly late at night, we were treated like rabid dogs when we asked for water!

I paid thirty-one dollars and fifty cents per night (with Facebook discount) for a single room. Good location, with a Metrobus stop on the side of the block. Internet cafes close by. Comfortable clean rooms, nothing fancy, with spacious showers and plenty of hot water. Good air-conditioning and minifridges. Mediocre on-site restaurant, fine if you don't feel like going out. Walls are somewhat thin...so if other guests are loud, you'll hear them. Ask for a room in the back to avoid street noise. If I ever go back to Panama, I'd stay here again...

Hotel Venecia is a very average-looking budget hotel...however, compared to other options nearby it provides great value for money! For $30 per night you can get a room with a/c, cable tv, and a good private bathroom with hot shower. Nearby backpacker's hostel Mamallena's charges the same for its private rooms which are much more basic - have no tv, a/c that is only turned on at night time, and no bathroom (you must use the communal showers/toilets). Hotel Venecia is just two blocks away from Mamallena's... The hotel is not particularly pretty, but it is clean, feels safe, and the reception staff were nice enough. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel which serves pretty good food - the Club Sandwich (not on many menus in Panama!) was DELICIOUS! This is a really nice benefit if you're just there for a night or two and don't feel like trawling the local streets for lunch or dinner (there's not much to be found in that neighbourhood anyway). The location is fine as a base for exploring the city - pretty central.

We stayed here in July when our regular budget hotel was full. It's on a busy street with the associated traffic noise but the window AC blocks out most of the noise. There is limited garage parking for about 10 cars, and the front desk has a view of the garage. The door is raised when you honk and lowered when you're inside. So i guess anyone could get inside but not everyone could get out :) You climb a flight of stairs to go from street level to the front desk (no elevators or handicap access). LIKES: The front desk staff was cordial and there are people to help you with your bags to the room. They DO honor the pensionado discount (for foreigners with a pensionado resident visa). There is free wi-fi in the lobby only. The rooms are okay with cable TV. The price is very reasonable. There is a small restaurant and bar adjacent to the hotel which you can enter without going out on the street. DISLIKES: It's not in the best area of town for going out at night. There aren't many grocery stores or restaurants that are open and close in the evenings. The open areas are not air-conditioned, and the stairs can be tough for the elderly or handicapped. OVERALL: For the discounted price it's a good value.

We liked this hotel. It was pretty cheap ($50 for a quad room), clean and with free internet. Service was good and employees very nice and helpful.
