This was my first visit to Panamá City and I was lucky to have booked a 2 night stay for me and a friend at The Central Hotel. It is a Beautiful and Historic Hotel. It is Centrally Located in the charming Casco Viejo neighborhood of Panamá City so it was easy to walk to all of the sights. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The food, including room service breakfast was ample and delicious. The staff were very friendly as were the local people. We felt very safe walking around the neighborhood. We had a balcony room on the corner nearest the Panamá Canal Museum which was a treat. I can’t recommend this marvelous hotel highly enough. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is beautiful, clean, and has a great location. The staff is super friendly and Jose was absolutely fabulous. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had great options. There was really amazing art hanging up in the lobby too. I hope to go back and visit again sometime. The only drawback was the music was loud in the atrium when we were trying to sleep, but if you get a room in the back it's better. Oh and the roof has a great view!

The hotel is beautiful, clean, have 4 restaurants and the service is super good, very attentive and kind. Rene at the door was special, polite and helpful. It near to everything in the center. Also provide parking which is a plus if you rent a car. Totally recommended it!

This is charming hotel in the old town with a lot of character. I would definitely recommend staying in the old town if you are visiting for the first time. We were a family group of 10 with teens. The rooftop pool was popular with the kids after a day or touring. The hotel is well located on a beautiful square. We had a range of rooms: one looking into the main atrium (128), three looking over the street (105, 108 and 109) and one off to the side of the atrium (135). The music in the atrium ends at 11 pm so ask for a room that is not off the atrium if you want to go to bed earlier (which we did before our 4:30 am Canal tour). Barbara was our front desk savior who was kind and attentive to our needs as newcomers to the city. The bar in the lobby is great and has smoothies for the kids. I want to review the restaurant, since we only went to this hotel for dinner. We really enjoyed the food and the service. Chef Chen was very attentive and wanted to make sure we had great experience, and we did! Everyone was very attentive, starting with Jose at the entrance, Carlos the hostess and Alisson and Carolina, the waitresses. Everyone was friendly and made us feel welcoming. We are planning to go back for dinner again!

This is a truly great hotel right on the Main square in the atmospheric old town in Panama City. I got a great start because of the kind gentleman in the reception, Alfredo who should get a raise. Everything was pretty perfect at this hotel except for the service at the rooftop restaurant where my server didn’t understand a word of English. But I’ll be back some day and for more than one night, that’s for sure!

We’ve book a Jr. Suite with 2 beds. The room is big with one couch. The bathroom is also big but it feels empty. There is not enough decorations that would make the big bathroom homey. Bathroom has very small bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. They don’t have hotel slippers and when we asked for a hotel umbrella they said that “it is not raining anymore, don’t worry”. Very unprofessional. With the price that I paid, I could say that I was disappointed. Go somewhere else. Also, you could hear someone singing an opera from your room until 12 am. It’s noisy. We have stayed here during weekends maybe that’s the reason why.

Right on Independence Square, this colonial style building has been beautifully updated inside while not losing any tropical atmosphere.Room was spacious with good AC, large bathroom and King bed. Breakfast was very good-fruits, cheeses,waffles, meats, eggs, cereals, yogurts, as well as Panamanian dishes. We found tour guides through the hotel that were helpful and interesting. All staff were exceptional, especially José.
