Our most important desire is ensure that your stay in Nicaragua becomes the most entertaining and enjoyable as possible. In an effort to achieve this, we tried to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere within a typical Nicaraguan colonial style with original antiques. The rooms are...
First of all I am not sure if it is fair to rate 3 stars only because of the political problems the country is experiencing at the moment. It is 25 minutes by taxi to get to the hotel. I only stayed here because of...More
Spent 1 night on our way to Leon and would have enjoyed another night. The rooms are on the small size but there is no reason to sit in the room as the grounds and public areas are beautiful. Being at the small bar in...More
We spent four nights in Los Robles. The rooms were clean and had all we needed (water pitchers, magnifying mirror, TV, hairdryer). The garden is serene with many bird-sightings. The staff were friendly and the little restaurant (for breakfast and dinners) was terrific. They even...More
We spent one night at Los Robles on our way back to the U.S. from another resort and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are spare but immaculately clean, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the small courtyard and pool area are lovely. Only suggestion...More

Seems like a converted home of a rich merchant. Lovely courtyard, with rooms along the side, and the garden with high walls and swimming pool is a haven. Rooms are small, but lovely, and breakfast is good.

The building layout is essentially in the shape of a large "U", with all rooms (except one) along the sides of the "U" and the building entrance, lobby/dining area at the bottom of the "U". I think they're doing some construction of that one room exception right now to enlarge it, so yes all rooms opens onto the courtyard. In the courtyard is a fountain with flowers/shrubs and beyond a nice large walled-in grassy area and pool, and a small place off to the side with several exercise machines. Though the rooms open to the courtyard, it really is just the door that opens; I don't recall seeing any windows facing the courtyard (though I could be wrong). Inside each room is a window or french door that opens onto a very small (and not very attractive) courtyard of it's own.
I've stayed at Los Robles twice and will be going back again in a few months. For me, the rooms are comfortable and adequate if I want to write or read something, but they're not a place where I would sit and linger looking out at the courtyard. To enjoy the outdoors I'd sit in the area by the pool or in the lobby/dining area. Incidentally, wi-fi does not seem to work in the rooms, only in the lobby/dining area.
We had room 1 which had its own private patio area but was in the road. To get a room by the pool area I would suggest you email the hotel and put a request in. The staff spoke good English and we found them very helpful... More
