On December 25,2018, my husband (legal husband married for 3 years under the laws of the United States and domestic partner for 8 years)and I were refused to stay at both locations villa Serena San Benito and Escalon because we requested a single bed. The exact words were: “we do not book single bed to two men or women. Only to straight couples “. They were willing for us to stay on night with the condition that we were willing to take a room with two single beds and rebooked with another hotel for the rest of the nights ! I have never been discriminated when booking a hotel room. I refused their offer and on Christmas Day, 3pm re-booked with another hotel. This is why my country, El Salvador can not process, due to narrow minded management/administration of Villa Serena !…
You can miss out on this couzy guest house! Great price for all you get. Its a beautiful house converted to hotel, so you get a very warm feeling full of interesting architectural details. Includes a delicious breakfast, I would recomend the authentic Salvadorian Pupusas and great tasting cofee. This place is located in the heart of San Salvador, walking distance to "El Salvador del Mundo" monument, eating n dining places plus a couple of blocks from "La Zona Rosa", where al the night life is located.
I was travelling with friends. We reserved two rooms. I had a clean room with a comfortable double bed, hot shower, and cold AC. Wi-Fi worked for me from room #18. I heard no noise. It was quite a gem with a nice inside garden. Others have commented on small breakfast. However, that was not my experience. Had eggs to order, toast, and Salvadoran beans. Coffee, tea and juice was walk up. Breakfast was not buffet but a regular serving size. If you want big breakfast have Taxi take you to Denny's food chain and get grand slam breakfast. I loved sitting out on veranda/patio having breakfast off of kitchen. We stayed 2 nights. Checked out of other hotel that was a one week group trip and checked in here on a Sunday afternoon. While we didn't need it, found the receptionist had solid English speaking skills. He also ordered us taxi for 4am pick up to take us to Platinum bus station for our continued travel to Guatemala. My room had plenty of closet shelving and a fridge. No microwave. I ended up with a common cold so went to the pharmacy that is on the main street only a few blocks from hotel (there are two. The other across the busy street) to buy cough syrup and tissues. In that area there is a Mister Donut, which has lunch options --much more than donuts, Pollo Campero, and Wendy's. We would definitely stay here again. Biggest thing is to stay tuned in when taxis dropping you off because many seemed to have a bit of trouble to find it. Also later in night, taxis will need to drive around block to drive to hotel for drop off because street access from main road is closed due to police station on that end. But, it is a simple drive around the block, not a big deal. …
I spent two nights at this hotel and i have such a nice time! the room was comfortable, the bed and the pillow was firm and soft i have a nice sleeping time! the bathroom was clean and have enough water! About the breakfast, maybe it is a little one i would like to have more food but was tasty i take scramble eggs, orange juice and bread with jelly was nice. The staff is kind and they are aware of anything you ask. The tour given by the hotel was very nice, they took us around the city to visit the more interesting landmarks and have a nice talk with the guide. The hotel is near of a Bank and the police close the street by night so that way you feel more safe and the car that is park outside infront of the hotel it is safe too. The sorroundings are quiet in spite that is near of the Salvador Del Mundo Plaza where are many cars but there is no noise! Everything is close from the hotel so it is located in a nice place.…
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and greatly enjoyed my stay. I arrived at night and caught a taxi to the hotel from the airport for $30. The hotel is spotlessly clean. I had a room on the second floor and there was no problem with noise. The rooms in the hotel are small, with a good-sized closet, a mini fridge, and flat screen TV (no English language channels). They have air conditioning, and it worked well. The bathroom is small, but the showers are strong and have hot water. There is a small business center with computers and a printer. I didn't use it because I had my laptop with me. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, and worked both inside and outside my room. A small breakfast is included, and you get one of 6 choices. However, you can choose a second selection for $3 more. Coffee, juice, and cold tea are included. Very few staff speak English, so if you don't speak or understand any Spanish you will be at a disadvantage. My only complaint is about the sightseeing service. They would not arrange a trip along the Rutas de los Flores, a popular tourist attraction. At one point there was a tour desk in their business center, but it's no longer there. The hotel still claims to offer tour services, but their "tour guide" is only a driver and speaks no English. His taxi service is a bit overpriced, so try to bargain if you decide to use him. However, he is very nice and personable as are all the staff.…
Centrally located in a secure spot in Zona Rosa. This is our go to place. Easy walk to Gallerias and Paseo malls. A little longer walk to the Metro Centro mall which we read is the largest in Central America. Lovely rooms with private baths, wifi, phone, a/c and a fridge. Wonderful staff and a choice of 6 different breakfasts included in the price. A quick taxi ride to Terminal Occidentel for direct bus connections to Rio Dulce in Guatemala and Route de Flores in El Salvador. While you are here you must visit Fernando Llort's gallery called El Arbol de Dios only 3.2km away on Ave Masferrer N.
my room was so nice felt good the bed rooms everything in general was so amazing close to all shopping centers also is next to el Salvador del Mundo Monument main road are just around the corner safe area close to Galerias Escalon love it nice hotel
This is a great option when arriving at El Salvador international airport. Taxi to villa Serena escalon will cost you $25 or so and take about 30 minutes depending on traffic. The room are clean and well appointed, bathroom is ensuite and as good hot shower, a small breakfast is included. The staffs are very helpful and the hotel offers transportation for a fee.the hotel is in a safe location, close to some fast food restaurant, McDonald , Wendy , Pizza Hut just to name a few. Also all these restaurants have delivery services.
pretty hotel ( in another life it was a prívate residence) with courtyards and cofre and tea available 24 hours a day in the breakfast room for guests. Immaculately clean with helpful staff. Tours available from desk off recepción.
It is a nice place for short trips, you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning while receiving visits or even just having a nice time. Close to the El Salvador del Mundo monument, you can access to the main highway very soon, and the best I did find is that the hotel is an street with low cars and persons movement. People around is those who goes to the Hotel or the Catholic Seminar San Jose de la Montaña.
