From the day I got there, March 3, I felt so welcomed, it felt like home away from home. The rooms were very comfortable, and the breakfast was tremendous. Thank you to Carlos, Juan,Selena and Adriana, you made my stay wonderful. As the Corona virus showed up and I couldn't leave the country, the owners Grace and Daniel kept the place open for me and my translator. Everybody took very good care of us. I got a humanitarian flight home March 30. I will be back in El Salvadore, and I will stay there again, I highly recommend this place , truly a remarkable place , I will never forget the owners and staff. God bless you all.

Small hotel with incredible personnel. My family and I just spent part of our vacation in this little gem of a hotel. Comfortable beds, super clean, delicious breakfast, and located close to everything. Thank you Grace, Karla ,Daniel and staff for making sure that our stay was a memorable experience. Small 3-star hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Clean room with television and mini bar, small bathroom. Tasty breakfast, no restaurant. But an exceptional service by the owners, they made our stay there over the top. I can recommend this hotel for the 100 %. Loved our stay there - Team Belgium

Not sure why this place is number 4th ranked hotel in San Salvador. The rooms are dirty with clear signs of water damage. Staff doesn’t know anything. The only good thing about the place is location. That’s it. For slightly more you can stay at Hilton or Marriott, infinitely better properties

Value, comfort, security, cleanliness ... Villa del Angel has it all.

I had a confirmation for months at one of the "chain" hotels, and based solely on TripAdvisor reviews, I changed to Villa del Angel just one week prior to my arrival. Thank you to all previous reviewers for influencing my decision. What a fantastic little hotel. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, safe & secure, and a delicious breakfast (included).

Special mention and huge thanks to Jessica for arranging my airport pick up, tour with guide & driver, and return to the airport. All were right on time, and the tour was phenomenal (ask them to request Alfredo - a wonderful guide).

If you're travelling to San Salvador, stay at Villa del Angel.

We found it hard to find a clean room in a good location in San Salvador. Villa del Angel certainly fulfils on both points, the room was spacious, modern and clean with cable TV and decent wifi. Breakfast was also included in the rate. The Villa del Angel was two minutes from a mall with a fast food court and cinema complex which is great, it is however a 5-10 minute drive to Zona Rosa where the chain hotels are based.

Initially the receptionist and owners were engaging and happy to help with any queries we had with tours and taxis etc offering their own taxi services which goes onto your room bill which is handy. Please note however that they'll quote you for 7USD one way for trips to Zona Rosa and Downtown which if you hail a taxi yourself will only cost you about 4USD.

We also booked a private driver with them at the cost of 100USD for the day. It was a fantastic trip to the Mayan ruins, museums and the lake, beware however that on top of this cost you have to pay entrance for your driver into the sites and also buy him lunch which adds 20-25% on top of the cost.

The next day the owners tried to hard sell other tours and once they found that we weren't interested their attitude changed. On check out we were told that we could only pay the room by card, the tour only by cash which made no sense, when we told them how disappointed we were they then proceeded to say that they hadn't charged us for finding out tour information!

So great room, just beware of the hard sell

Stayed here for three nights, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in El Salvador. Felt incredibly safe in the local area, and there is a nice mall, movie theater, and various grocery stores and restaurants in walking distance. The staff were incredibly helpful with a smile on their face whenever I passed by, and the free breakfast in the morning was a real treat.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in June 2011. Being from El Salvador and growing up in Canada, I honestly did not expect much from this hotel.
We were pleasantly surprised. Friendly, family owned hotel right in San Salvador's safest community Escalon. Merely steps away from Las Galerias, a large mall full of designer labels and just a few minutes walk away from cute cafes, restuarants, and recognizable chains such as Wendy's.

The owners Daniel and Grace were incredibly hospitable, Daniel telling us about nearby restaurants and what to try, their knowledge about the area was incredibly helpful, we even showed up one night with him having fresh fruit we've never even heard of for us to try out! Every single one of the staff members were so helpful and friendly, going out of their way was something they did with such perfection and were always willing to help. The hot breakfasts every morning were something we enjoyed so much and felt just like home.

My boyfriend and I felt incredibly safe in the area, walking around at night to get late night snacks, there is a supermarket near by, and a theatre in the mall down the street. If we wanted to go anywhere outside of the area, Daniel helped set up a cab directly through him that he knew was safe and reliable which was very reassuring. The rooms were cleaned every day, nothing stolen, everything cleaned to perfection, enough space and a pleasant view of the garden. Laundry service for two bags worth of clothing was only $12! It was also very convienient to have FREE wifi in the hotel to keep our families up to date with our adventures, both families being very impressed with the hotel as well.

In all honesty, I was incredibly sad to leave Villa Del Angel Hotel, the friendly staff, prime location and all its surroundings made it my absolute favourite hotel to stay at. I literally talk about this hotel all the time. The price is absolutely ridiculously cheap for everything you get. All and all, Villa Del Angel isn't even a hotel, instead you're staying at a friends house. I know you will enjoy your trip as much as i did!

I chose Villa del Angel Hotel for five non-consecutive nights in February 2017 as part of a multi-city tour of El Salvador. The location of the hotel in San Salvador and the high ranking of the hotel here on TripAdvisor were the two main reasons for me choosing this lodging.

Using the e-mail address (info@villadelangelhotel.com) listed on the hotel's official website, I sent an e-mail requesting a reservation for my desired dates of stay. I quickly heard back from Carlos Barrera and Grace Moncada, who informed me that my desired room (Standard Individual Room) was available and that my credit card details were needed to pay a deposit and secure my reservation. After providing these details and paying the deposit ($115.64), I received a voucher confirming my reservation. At this time, I also requested a transfer from the airport to the hotel, and was told that the hotel's driver would be waiting for me when I arrived and exited the airport.

When I arrived at the airport and exited the terminal, the hotel's driver (Eduardo) was waiting for me and holding a sign with my name on it. The drive from the airport to Villa del Angel Hotel took 50 minutes in moderate traffic. During the check-in process, I paid the balance of my reservation ($173.46) and the cost of the airport pick-up ($28).

The bedroom of my room (#3) featured a comfortable king-size bed and three pillows. The top sheet was of great quality (but a little thin), and since I wasn't sure when the last time the blue blanket on the bed was laundered (a typical conundrum in any hotel in any nation), I simply didn't use it. A padded rocking chair, work desk with chair, storage closet with two security safes, satellite television, and mini-fridge were also present. The wall-mounted air conditioner was cold and powerful. One complimentary bottle of water was provided daily.

In the bathroom, there was good water pressure in the shower and ample hot water from the dial-your-preferred-temperature water heater box. Soap dispensers were mounted in the shower and near the sink. Towels were of great quality with no holes or stains. Housekeeping did a good job freshening the bathroom and bedroom daily, and US-style power outlets were found throughout the entire room.

In the mornings, breakfast consisted of five choices: American, Continental, Salvadorean, Rancherito, and Light. And each morning, I chose the Salvadorean: scrambled eggs, rice with beans, fried plantain, bread, cheese, fresh-squeezed orange juice (with pulp), and great coffee. At my request, the hotel provided Splenda in the mornings for my coffee, which I really appreciated.

Other amenities provided by the hotel were 24-hour security and a common computer for guest use in the lobby, equipped with Wi-Fi. The Galerias Mall was located nearly next door to the hotel, with a Wendy's and Super Selectos supermarket only a five-minute walk away.

The real superstar of Villa del Angel Hotel was Eduardo, the hotel's exclusive driver and tour guide. Through Grace Moncada, I requested a tour of Planes de Renderos, Puerta del Diablo, and Parque El Boqueron, and for a separate day, a tour of the Joya de Ceren and San Andres ruins. Even though he is a young guy (probably in his early 20s) and doesn't speak much english, for both of these tours ($50 for the first and $45 for the second), Eduardo was a knowledgeable and patient guide. He was also tasked with transporting me from San Salvador to Suchitoto ($55) to begin the next phase of my tour of El Salvador. And not only was he on time for my pick-up at the airport on the day that I arrived, he was two minutes early for my pre-arranged 5am pick-up at the hotel and transport to the airport on the day of my departure back to the United States (an additional $28).

Based on my experience at the hotel and Eduardo's performance, I have no problems with rating Villa Del Angel Hotel "Excellent" here on TripAdvisor. This hotel will be ideal lodging for Americans, Europeans, or others wishing to spend time in San Salvador to tour the city and nearby sights in the countryside.

Shezza call the Hotel they will send you a pick up . Its quite a scenic but slightly long drive from Airport to city .... also Taxi are available at the Airport from a counter which are approx the same price . Find counter near the toilet section outside . its a little hard to find but if you are bent upon it , you will get it. just keep asking for the toilet not the taxi counter. They will point one of the Taxi to you , get the price fixed there itself. At the Hotel use the Hotel Taxi , its nice safe and convenient. Bhanu PS this Hotel is good , as it is next to a Mall , so variety of food is not a problem ....... The Hotel is small but very nice as it has a garden in the middle and makes one feel different. If you have the time , do drive up the mountain , there is a restaurant there and they serve famous Salvadorian pancakes .......... amazing ones ( I forget the name of the dish and restaurant , but experience stays with me .......
