Hotel Hacienda San Miguel is one of the most comfortable bed & breakfasts I have ever been to in El Salvador. I stayed there from Thursday to Saturday with my dad and we had two private rooms. The location is ideal, as it only took under 45 minutes to get there from the airport, and it is very close to the capital, San Salvador. The hacienda itself made me feel very secure as it is gated and very private. There is plenty of space to park two or three vehicles. Upon entering the hacienda, we were greeted by Gloria, who is the manager of the location. We had help offloading our vehicle and from there on the service was truly thoughtful, considerate and professional. Gloria was very quick to provide us anything we needed (which isn't much as I do not consider myself high maintenance by any means haha). Our main request was coffee, which Gloria prepared without a problem. In the evenings we would relax outside in the patio, drink coffee and listen to music. Each room has an individual shower/bathroom which is WONDERFUL. The bed was comfortable and I also loved how each room has their own AC unit; there was only one night when I felt it was needed though. In regards to breakfast, Gloria would ask me the night before what we wanted to eat. I just requested the typical breakfast, which included fried plantains, refried beans, fruits, and chorizo. Anything is available upon request but after not having visited El Salvador for so long, all I wanted was a simple breakfast. I did not experience lunch as my dad and I left early to take advantage of the day to go sightseeing. Dinners are not provided but there are a few restaurants close by (La Pergula and La Pampa). Also! Wifi was available which was nice to contact family in the US to let them know we arrived safely to our destination. In sum, if you're looking for a comfortable, private setting with one on one service, within close distance to the airport, with trustful staff & good home cooking, please stay here and support this local business. I stayed at Hacienda San Miguel in July 2018 during my first re-discovery visit to El Salvador 56 years after being born there. The Hacienda offers beauty and serenity that brings one back to an El Salvador that once was while offering cleanliness and modern day conveniences. I wanted to stay forever as I have rarely felt such peace. A beautiful breakfast each morning created a wonderful start to each day.
