We stayed here 2 nights and it was fabulous. Originally built to support guests from the Orient Express, it still has the aura of that time. Decorated in Art Deco style, the lobby is gorgeous. We were in room 235,a large corner room at the...More
I was truly impressed with the updates in this historic hotel. I only had one night to enjoy it. The room was spacious with a comfortable king bed. The 4 piece bathroom had been updated with rainforest showerhead. Deep tub. Double sinks. I ate in...More
It's a beautiful property. Sadly, I booked via trip advisor site and the hotel insisted that the booking site made an error with our reservation and they could not accommodate the room type we requested. This resulted in some discomfort.

Yes, the hotel is in the city center, literally next door to the train station and about a 5 minute walk to the central square. The underground mall next to the hotel is not very interesting, it's just pizza shops and kiosks, sort of the equivalent of a U.S. strip mall. The hotel buffet breakfast is pretty good, lots of options. 30 minutes by taxi from the airport, about $20 U.S. Zagreb is a nice city, but you don't really need more than three or four days. If you're trip is longer than that, I'd plan to go to Kopacki or Rijeka or the coast for a few days. Hope this helps.
