We had reservation and the bus dropped us off. Once inside the gate it was very serene and quiet. A very well laid out hotel complex with the pool and hot tub at the back of the hotel. Once they sorted out the rooms then we went to have a look. The room was nicely laid out. The bathroom was very clean. Then dinner was available after 7pm so we went to find the restaurant. Upstairs in the restaurant it was very nice. They had Inca musicians playing and it was very nice. They dinner came from a menu but it seemed like they were cooking 2 meals at a time. It took almost an hour to get the food. We think maybe a new cook or something but it was like that every meal. All in all it was very nice though.

We stayed at the Mabry for several nights The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The showers were hot and we had a heater in our room for the cold nights. The staff was professional and helpful. The desk clerk was very welcoming and spoke English. We enjoyed the full breakfast- lots of choices and great coffew We were able to leave our excess baggage at the hotel when we went to Machu Pichu and were given our same room when we returned. Our grandson had altitude sickness and we were allowed to extend our check out time to give him a chance to rest

Rooms were very nice. Heat was a little off, as the electric heater didn’t work too well. Dinner was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Took what was a decently bad day and made it much better. Would return in a heartbeat!

It all started well with a cheerful welcome in reception but then went downhill pretty quickly. The room we were given was a single size with a double bed shoe horned in, and whilst it had a window this looked out onto some sort of service shaft so there was no natural light at all and it was freezing cold. I went down to reception and requested a change of room and the man on duty was very unfriendly. However when he saw that I was determined he reluctantly offered another room, but he practically threw the key at me! The second room was bigger and had a window looking over the front elevation but it was still very 'tired'. I think it's time they considered some updating as it looks like nothing has been changed for many years. On the day we checked out we had to sit in the reception area for some time as we were waiting for transport to the airport and it was so cold! The same man who changed the room for us was on duty and again he was surly and unfriendly and I noticed that as we were waiting for our lift he spent the whole time watching a film/tv programme on the computer. I am pretty sure that there are far better hotels in Cusco and would definitely not recommend this place.

Thank you to the observant, friendly staff of this small family style hotel. The rooms and bath rooms are totally adequate, the light switches could be a littel more "accessible" - I had to stand up to get to the switch for my readinf light.. Very good breakfast, great view from the 6th floor. Looking forward to going there again!

Staff and personal were not friendly. Beds were too stiff of a surface to lay on. Overall appeal of the hotel was dark and cold. The only positive remark my friend and I can make, the hot water in the shower was excellent!

I was traveling with a group of students and we needed some help with getting into rooms while some were out in town. The staff was so helpful even into the late hours and never seemed to be put out. The room was a little cold, but they have good comforters and small heaters in the rooms. I wasn't able to get a hot shower in the morning, just at night. Breakfast was ok nothing special, but overall comfortable and pleasant stay! Also located really close to three supermarkets. Somewhat busy neighborhood full of car part and repair shops so I felt pretty safe. Walked around with one young student at night and felt completely comfortable.

This place is so cute and has such a nice local feel. There's all types of beautiful murals and paintings on the walls. It was clean, the staff was super helpful and polite. The breakfast was outstanding and the rooms were spotless. The beds were very hard but hey- whatever, it was no big deal. Still slept pretty good regardless. If you're staying in cusco I highly recommend this place- many nice amenities. They even had wifi on every floor, but the signal was weak unless you wanted to hang out on one of the nice couches they had out on each floor. All in all a nice experience, 5 stars :)

I stayed at the Mabey for two nights with a tour group en route to Machu Picchu. First, I was assigned a very upscale room directly facing the main road. The noise level was unbearable, so I asked to be moved and was told there were no rooms until the next night. I stood my ground and ended up in an economy room for two night (which was not a problem as long as I had quiet surrounding to sleep. The bed was not the most comfortable but ok. My issues were 1) ice cold shower water (I was there in May, it gets cold at night). Several of my friends had did not have hot water and a few reported that they had scolding hot water. Neither option is ideal. 2) my hotel room door was left open (not just unlocked) all day after they cleaned. The wifi was unreliable, and our group did not receive our wake up calls as requested by our group leader. Positives were the breakfast, gardens and the overall look of the facility. There was a drained pool that I expect would be filled if it were summer. Staff were also friendly and helpful.

Quite a nice hotel, staff positive & helpful, furnishings of a high standard, breakfasts were excellent; only small negative was the position, a fair walk to the city centre, though admittedly along a shopping street.
