We loved the convenient location of the hotel and the lovely open courtyard and wonderful landscaping. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. We had booked two rooms And they were on the ground floor, very close to the Reception - we could hear voices of other guests at night and in the early morning as the windows and doors were not properly insulated. this was a minor inconvenience. there was no toilet roll in our bathrooms but upon asking they were provided. All in all, we were quite happy with our stay and think that it was good value for the cost.
Stayed here for 3 nights, worst 3 nights of travelling . Constantly noisy at this place, you try to rest for early tours only to be kept awake by noisy guests. Then even earlier in the mornings to noise starts again, there is no respect from other travellers here at this place. Definitely do not recommend this place if you are wanting a quieter stay
Great hotel, central San blas. We stayed for 5 nights. Stored bags safely. Next to LOCAL which is a wonderful restaurant too! Maria & Epi do a great breakfast! Room was super clean and they work tirelessly to ensure the hotel is spotless and well maintained. Thank you for a great stay. Close to Limbus and RestoView bar to as well as 2 mins for Plaza de Adana’s.
My wife and I stayed here for a total of 3 days. It was clean and everyone here was very sweet. The breakfast was delicious and the hostel over all was very nice and in the middle of town. You could walk just about anywhere. Super safe and the showers and room were very clean. Its has a lot of noise until about 11 pm but we would still stay here again. It also had a lovely court yard and great views.
The location is great, the hotel is very authentic and clean. The stuff doesn’t really speak English which can a bit challenging for foreigners. I really loved the kitchen lady Epi, taking care of us during the breakfast. Thank you for the stay.
We stayed here two times: before and after we did the Inca Trail. For us, the hotel has everything we need: a good bed, clean sheets, a shower and a breakfast. But next to that, Amaru has more: it has a certain charm with all the woodwork, the patio and the garden where we spotted hummingbirds everyday. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect and just a 5 min. walk from Plaza de Armanas.
Great location near the plaza des Armas and near the 12angled stone. The Hotel was well priced and super clean. Perfect COVID protocols and the staff was very nice. The bed and room were perfect and the courtyard was nice for sunsets. Also Effy the breakfast lady was really nice and made a good breakfast.
Date of stay: between July 25th and August 2, 2021 Pros: Location - If location is high on your list when visiting Cusco, Amaru I/ Amaru Inka deserves all five stars. Located in the San Blas neighborhood, it is walkable to everything you could possibly be interested in: Plaza De Armas (and several other squares), San Pedro Market (and many other smaller markets), shopping, historical streets & buildings, ruins, and the list goes on and on! I stayed here three nights prior & two nights after the 4 day Inca Trail trek. Rate - great rate for such a prime location and includes breakfast Breakfast - basic but good. Cooked to order eggs, coffee, musili, fruit, yogurt, orange juice, pan/bread, jam/jelly. Staff - super nice and very helpful Cons: Heat - they do not turn the heat on until around 7:00PM each night and it goes off sometime before 6:00AM (makes for very chilly before dinner showers and getting dressed or showering in the mornings) Electrical Outlets - I brought an adaptor & converter, but they only worked part of the time. I stayed in two different rooms and had this issue in both and at all outlets. Sometimes they worked fine and other times they did not work at all. Hair dryer - they have them at the desk which is nice. The first time I borrowed one it worked just fine. Upon my return from the trek, the guy & lady at the front desk gave me three to try - none of them would work even when they tried them before I took them to my room to try with (in two cases) the provided adaptor. Again, not sure if this was an issue with the dryer or the issue with the outlets that I experienced from time to time. Hot water - it took a bit of time to figure it out in each room, but I finally managed to get it adjusted so I wasn't getting scalded or frozen. Just adjust before you get in and then be ready to move out of its way if it does lag in one or the other. Overall - I would happily stay there again. However, I would probably book myself in a nicer hotel for the return from a trek. At least for one night :-)…
Great location, only a short walk to the main square. Some nice eateries around the hotel too - especially away from the main square. Rooms were all good. I stayed there on two occasions, once before the Inca trail, and then when I returned. First time was all good, and on the first floor. Second time, my room had poor Wi-fi which was annoying. This was on the ground floor. Breakfast. Lovely. Staff. All friendly. I think many places do this, however was good to know I could leave my backpack with them whilst I went on a 4day trek.
We have stayed at this hotel several times in our travels to Peru. This is one of our favorite places to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are beautiful with some offering little upstairs breakfast nooks. The breakfast is great and they keep the coco tea constantly in stock which helps with the altitude. The hotel is conveniently located near the main Plaza de Armas and there are some great restaurants nearby to try like Pacha Papa and Jack's Bar. The garden at the hotel is beautiful and gets its regular visits of humming birds. The only thing is occassionally the hot water can run out or be sporadic from hot to cold but that's hardly an issue for us as we are to busy enjoying the sights, sounds and flavors.
