Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Hotel Ruinas for 5 days over New Years and had a wonderful experience. The hotel staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the showers were hot, and it is in a perfect location just a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas. The breakfast is a nice mix of hot and cold foods, plus it starts really early so people can eat and still catch the early morning trains to Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes. Also, I ended up leaving something of value to me behind, although I didn't know it at the time (or that I left it there). I contacted the hotel and asked if they had found it. They send they did and they mailed it back to me that same day. I believe the mark of a quality organization is not only how they treat you while you're engaged in a transaction but also how they treat you afterwards. Hotel Ruinas treated me very well, even after I left. I highly recommend Hotel Ruinas.

The hotel is located within a 2 minute walk from the plaza de armas and many restaurants and attractions. The hotel lobby has some beautiful colonial architecture. The staff was very attentive. Our room was at the rear of the hotel, which offered a nice view of the city and mountains. There are 2 small markets right across the street that sell snacks and drinks. Breakfast was included and there were many options. The hotel provided a free shuttle from the airport.

This hotel did a very good job providing a safe place to travel. The staff was attentive and did temperature checks as well as providing to normal needs. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the main square. I was able to find several very nice restaurants nearby. The area always felt safe and secure and we had to be let in after staff at night. I stayed in two different rooms (one at the beginning of my trip and a different one at the end of my trip). Both were small by US standards but clean and tidy. The inside one looked out the window to the interior of the hotel. The other one had a small balcony that looked out over the street.

Wonderful staff.
I came with a group tour which I had to leave due to ill health. Waiting for my travel insurance repatriation they let me stay in the room on a day to day basis (they were quiet so I know this would not be always available) but never made a fuss about it.
They were also very good being a go between if my Dr or Travel company support rang and asked them to do something.

We stayed for 4 nights as part of an organised tour group. We had a double room on the 2nd floor at the rear of the hotel overlooking the mountains. This was quieter than the front rooms or the rooms overlooking the inside centre of the hotel reception area, although the windows are only single glazed and it was still a little noisy. Our TV was very difficult to work, we either couldn't turn it on or couldn't turn it off haha. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was good, hot and cold options. Friendly staff. The hotel felt safe and secure, in a good location within walking distance to several bars and restaurants and the main square/churches. There is no lift.

Cusco has a special atmosphere in everything. And this also applies to local hotels that look like the mansions of former colonialists. And this hotel is no exception. From the first minutes you feel like you are in a museum. By the way, there really is a mini gallery there. Thanks to the pandemic and low season, we were the only guests and it was very pleasant when everyone around us was looking after us. When you enter the hotel, the door is opened for you. Registration was quick. We were accommodated in a very large two-story room with a fireplace overlooking the center of Cusco. Breakfast was wonderful. Despite the absence of guests, they gave us a buffet. It was a wonderful holiday.

The room was so comfy and cute, loved the skylights onto the city! Breakfast was delicious. The front desk staff was so helpful assisting us with laundry services we needed post Inca Trail! Very centrally located. Would definitely recommend :)

Very clean, comfortable & safe. Close to excellent restaurants & shopping. Hotel staff was very accommodating to provide snack boxes for our very early morning departures to Machu Picchu & Rainbow Mountain. I definitely recommend this hotel & would stay again!

Modern, comfortable and very well located in the city center with plenty of restaurants on the street and all ready. Nice room with storage and mini fridge. Beautiful bathroom with toiletries and hair dryer. The common areas are decorated with Inca pottery or fabrics. Be careful though, there is no elevator and many floors. (staff members are present to assemble them)

We stayed at Hotel Ruinas in Cusco for 8 days. The staff is amazing, our room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is clean and comfortable. The main plaza for Cusco is only a short walk from the hotel and there are plenty of restaurants and also a market on the same block as the hotel.
We highly recommend this hotel in Cusco.
