The hotel is very simple, but very well located, close to everything in the historic center of Cusco. You can do everything on foot in the surrounding area. There is parking at the hotel, paid separately. Breakfast is extremely simple, with the basics, but serves very well. It's worth what it costs.

This hotel was in the CVC package for Machu Picchu. 3 nights in this hotel and two nights in two other hotels (Aguas Calientes and Ollantaytambo).
Specifically at this hotel, some things are good.
*3 positive points: a) close to Plaza de Armas (center); b) very spacious room; c) close to everything.
*3 negative points: a) the coffee is definitely PRECARIOUS (very few options), and I love breakfast at a hotel; b) time: it is set to start at 6am but it is not quite like that (it was around 6:30 or 7am); There are practically no employees to help you. In the 3 days we were there I only identified 2 people from the hotel.

Visit was in August 2011. The location is perfect, close to everything, historic building. I really ⁇ the service, at the time there was a lot of special tea for altitudes at the reception, it helped a lot. Despite sloping in the Plaza de Armas, the street of the hotel is quite empty, a little scary, rs

We entered the Emperador Plaza hotel in the city of Cusco, on December 7th, two thousand and twenty-four (2024); seven (7) friends and friends from Medellin - Colomba, we were attended by Mr. Juan Carlos Qeuspe, at the reception. The service provided by Mr. Juan Carlos, was excellent in all aspects, because he received us and delivered the luggage that arrived from the other hotel where we were, located us quickly in each of the rooms, got us breakfast for the next day at 4:30 am, we left for Cusco airport. It was a very good service and courtesy. Thank you Mr. Juan Carlos Qeuspe.

I do not recommend this place at all.

1. Bad security for foreigners or locals

I had a package and disappeared from my room no one get the responsable of this and they did not have cameras working in the hotel to verify this or resolve the situation I did not see any effort or worry from the hotel: I do not feel comfortable with the situation because could be another document more important as my passport or wallet (I would not like this to happen to another foreigner).

2. Few breakfast options

The options to choose what to have for breakfast are few and there is no variety.

3. Cold rooms

Cusco it is very cold place more at night and early in the morning and my room had only one blanket, the heating did not work so I had to use my poncho and more clothes to do not get frozen.

4. The shower has no door

To taking a shower as the shower there was no door the whole bathroom was flooded and even the water came out into the room: not contable at all.

The trunk smells very strong mold that permeated our suitcases.
The shower is uncontrolled and constantly oscillates between super strong and weak, hot and cold.
The coffee has little variety.
In the three days we stayed, the water ran out twice.
The water from the toilet flush is weak and the bowl was blocked, (we had to use the trash can as a bucket to collect water from the shower and throw it in the bowl to unblock it (lol).
The hair dryer didn't work.
There is no elevator and the rooms are on the 2nd or 3rd floor (in our case 3rd) you have to climb stairs.
On the day we had to leave early (5:00 am) the hotel doors were closed and the guy at the reception was sleeping on the sofa at the reception, he got up to open the door so we could leave, but we felt bad, as if we were in the way. and we had to wait for our car outside the hotel, because inside the hotel (where the reception sofa is) the boy was using it as his bed.
Anything good? Yes, lol, attentive staff and the hotel is next to the Plaza de Armas. I think that's all.

Excellent hotel, super comfortable beds. The guys' attention is great. It is 2 blocks from the Plaza de Armas and has its own parking. I recommend this hotel, and if at any time I have the opportunity to go to Cusco, I already know where to stay again.

This hotel is in a great location around the corner from the main Plaza. I stayed with a group tour. The staff were helpful, the beds are comfortable, the water was always hot in the shower and the rooms are clean. The electrics for the heater were a bit dodgy and required wiggling (in rubber shoes) to work. The hair dryer worked for 30 seconds. There is a buffet breakfast but you need to ask if you want scrambled eggs as they are not offered.
My room had a view over a service entrance and was dark but was quite spacious. It was very cold so I was delighted when the heater decided to work.

Horrible Hotel it is clean but the stuff is very rude when you ask them to take your luggage to your room. The rooms are clean but the towels smell very bad and my room did not have any hot water. Not recommended. Breakfast was very lateeven when they tell you that they served it at 6 am they served the breakfast when they want 30 min later.

I stayed at this hotel 2 times with a tour group in 7 days. The hotel broke my luggage without saying sorry or making any compensation. They only blamed me that my luggage was not high quality enough. What's funnier was that the staff there acted like Mr. Bean when you talked to them or wanna complain. They would reply you with a "yes" no matter what you asked and then just sat down and continued to enjoy the TV show on the desk of the reception. At the end, we all got nothing we asked for except the Mr. Bean look from the staff.

Worse still, No Hot Water for my entire stay. The heater was broken as well.
No matter what, Stay away from this hotel unless you want to torture yourself.
