What struck me first about this hotel was the positive energy that radiates from the Incan stones that serve as both the floors and exterior walls of the property. The hotel is more like a museum that includes both colonial and Incan artifacts. It's simply beautiful and we leave feeling rejuvenated and grateful. The service is outstanding from reception (Giovanni) to the door men and bell hops. Bar servers were also exceptional with a special shout out to Victor who took good care of us. We had two rooms during our stay. The standard room was a bit small and the bathroom was crowded for two of us but the amenities, including the spa, delicious breakfast overlooking the courtyard, and on demand hot chocolate (my personal favorite) made up for the room size. Two points of interest: the hotel has a boot/shoe cleaning service with a one hour turn around. This came in handy especially after trekking Machu Picchu. We also hired a driver to greet us at the airport for $18 USD. Well worth it at 6am after 24 hours of travel. We highly recommend.

This property impressed me even before arrival. Because of a terrible airline I ended up missing a connecting flight and missing an entire day at this hotel. While stranded overnight I messaged the hotel and updated them about my situation. I had arranged an airport ground transfer through/to the hotel and that had to be pushed a day as well. They were extremely understanding and adjusted everything seamlessly. I was not penalized as a "no show" for arriving a day late either.
My eventual arrival coincided with my daughter's and there was a hotel representative at the airport. She waited with us for our baggage and got us to the driver. There must have also been communication while en route because the hotel staff were at the curb to greet us. Due to the historic nature of the area cars cannot drive up to the hotel entrance.
We arrived early in the morning and were very hungry. I inquired about breakfast [which I would have gladly paid for] and they graciously let us join the lavish breakfast service at no charge. It is a luxurious spread of local and international foods. A live harpist is also included. During breakfast the second morning I noticed local artisans in the courtyard with a baby alpaca! It was so fun to finish breakfast and then go outside to meet an alpaca.
The property is very nice with several courtyards so you do need to pay attention or you'll end up walking out of the way. They offer a daily "activity" and it was great. We did a walking historic tour of the property and the Pisco Sour lesson in the bar.
Truthfully, I was "on the fence" about the JW or this property. We did stop at the JW for a Pisco Sour while in town and it was right in the heart of the touristy area. I was very glad that we were staying at the Palacio which is close to everything but the surrounding area is much more calm.
I was also able to arrange a private ride to our next property through the hotel and charge it to my bill - which is so convenient. The price included the ability to stop and visit sites on the way. We saw Lake Huaypo, Moray, and the Maras salt mines on the way to Urubamba.
My daughter and I travel extensively for work and leisure. In 2019 we were on 5 continents and 9 countries together. Although we [unfortunately] only had one night here it made a very strong, positive impression on both myself and my daughter.
I highly recommend this property.

Our family of four stayed at the Palacio del Inka for three nights after deciding to treat ourselves to a five star experience. I am so happy we did! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are outstanding. Everyone we came across was so friendly and willing to help, from doormen, reception and spa staff, waiting staff, housekeeping, concierges, the bar staff and shop assistants. We were welcomed by Elmer who made us feel right at home, we took the fascinating tour of the hotel with Paulo who was impressively knowledgable and participated in the amazing pisco sour lesson with Miguel. The breakfast was a dream with service to match. The beds are so comfortable that my son did not want to leave and the designer Byredo toiletries were much appreciated. This hotel is a must-stay for anyone with a fascination for amazing historical properties and an appreciation for aesthetics. Thank you for a memorable stay and we hope to return!

We stayed at Palacio del Inka twice in our recent trip to Peru. Once coming out of the rainforest for a week, and the next time at the end of our trip. It is totally unassuming on the outside, but luscious and spacious on the inside. We do love the hotel, but will note that our rooms varied significantly (one time they automatically upgraded us to a much larger and more comfy room; another time a more "standard" room. It is worth asking for an upgrade, or booking it in advance if you can afford it. Either way, the hotel grounds are amazing, the breakfast glorious with llamas in the courtyard as you eat, and very dignified service. It is not a totally 5--star experience, and the spa in the pics is only for paid services, but still we enjoyed many of the little extras and it felt like luxury - especially after rugged, Peruvian adventuring. We shopped on many sites to get a good deal on this hotel, as the rates fluctuate a lot, and it has more value at around $200 than higher price points. Rates go way down outside of high tourist weeks. A beautiful hotel around the corner, Casa Andina Premium, is about half the price and amazing value, but this was extra special.

We had a great experience except when it comes to provide you with the necessary number of rooms... While traveling as a group of 5 (2 parents and 3 kids) they booked us in 3 rooms while we needed only 2. We spent hours on this matter and they never agreed to cancel the additional room. They mentioned it was the responsibility of the travel agent - who said this has been the responsibility of the hotel. At the end we were the one paying. Another travel agent mentioned to us that this happen often at the Palacio del Inka, so be careful!!!! You can lose a lot of money, as we did...

Dear PatrickFFFF, Thank you for reaching out to us and for this honest review. We are truly sorry these challenges jeopardized your stay with us. Rest assured our staff is always looking to go the extra mile to create memorable experiences for our guests. We understand that this took place on your second arrival. Unfortunately, this reservation was arranged by your travel agent and we are not able to cancel an agent's reservation without their approval. Given that the cancelation request was made on the arrival date, a penalty was to take place. Hopefully, your travels will bring you back to Cusco in the near future. We stayed in Feb 2020, but I only managed to get around to writing a review now.

I cannot say enough good things about Palaco Del Inka. There are many hotels we have stayed around the world, but only a handful of them have left enough of a mark on us that they went into our list of places we would stay at for our 10th anniversary in the future. Palacio Del Inka is in the second place, but just by a hair. That is how perfect this hotel was.

From the moment you arrive, the beautiful hotel captivates you. The staff is ever helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Whether calling cabs, or arranging sun-block, they are always there to fulfill your needs. We even tried the spa at the hotel and came back absolutely refreshed.

The bar at the hotel has delicious snacks, a live Pisco Sour demonstration and their Chicha Morada is the absolute best we had anywhere in Peru. We sought after that amazing flavor everywhere and nothing came close. I would go back just for that.

The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and we woke up refreshed every morning. No complaints at all. Even the in-house shops have interesting things to buy and we found the prices for the quality of items to be quite good.

The location of the hotel makes it easy to reach almost everywhere on foot in Cusco. We walked around to almost everywhere easily. Some of the sites of interest are just across the street.

Honestly, if you can, then stay at the Palacio Del Inka when in Cusco. It's such a perfect base for your stay in the Peruvian Andes.

We were here for 4 nights during December 2021 and was thoroughly impressed.

Hotel: This is an old palace ( 400 years ) converted into a a lux chain hotel with 17th century architecture. It is spread out and has several restaurants, lounge areas, a central courtyard where the local people have a small shop during breakfast time with their cute Alpaca.

Location: Excellent location just a couple of blocks away from the historic plaza de Armas and right outside of Qorikancha. Most tour companies are close by and so are the top restaurants, shopping areas etc.

Covid: The hotel is very large and spread out and we did not encounter too many people within 10 feet distance. They had sanitizers everywhere and people followed the mask policies. It felt safe and Cusco is one of the places where they enforced double masks or KN95 at the Plaza Del Armas area. Most restaurants would check your vaccination card and greet you with hand sanitizers which was very impressive.

Service: Impeccable service. In fact when we checked in, there was an error in our booking and the staff at put us in a lower category room; then we told them, they gave us a couple of options and later the manager ( Jose ) upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost and breakfast for all three of us. The servers at the breakfast place were amazing. In fact the best part was that during our early morning tours, they would pack our to-go breakfast and we had to collect it at the reception.

Rooms: Unique, very classy and brand new. They had beautiful views. The bathrooms were amazing as well. The room service menu is from the Inti Raymi restaurant and was served in most utmost manner,, world class dining. They also provided bottled waters throughout the stay and did not charge us extra.

Overall an amazing place and highly recommended. Will surely stay there again at a heartbeat.

Stepping into this hotel immerses you into everything Cusco; history, art, food...and most importantly, the wonderful people that give this city its heart. We arrived early in the morning, exhausted from a long multi-day journey to Cusco, knowing our room wouldn't be ready, but happy to have finally arrived. What we didn't expect was Roger Medina. Hearing our room wasn't available yet, he immediately made sure we had a quiet space to put our luggage and rest our heads. He returned with coca, cookies and a newspaper, and when my wife fell asleep, he quietly delivered a blanket. For the rest of our stay, that tone of hospitality continued; always greeted us by name and ensured we were having exactly the stay we were wanting. Thank you Roger...and thanks to all of you that made us feel at home at the Palacio del Inka. Excellent property, excellent people!

The stay didn't start well, and the room we were in was terrible but after some back-and-forth that I wish had been shorter, the hotel management more than made up for it.

The hotel itself is beautiful, and one of the best place you can stay in Cusco, ideally located near the center, well staffed ,and well maintained. The place really adds to one's stay.
The restaurant is very good, with few but interesting wines on the menu, and the breakfast buffet is both diverse and opulent, actually a high point of the say both in quality and quantity.
The spa installation is nice but the services offered a very standard. This is not the place where you'll get the massage that changes your day, let alone your life, but the small pool has a fair amount of different jets to make it a relaxing hydrotherapy break.

It’s a gorgeous hotel in walking distance of the main city sites for a reasonable price point. As noted in other reviews, the breakfast buffet, which is included in the price, is large and quite good. We appreciated that is started at 4:30am. We also appreciated that they gave us two free Pisco sours a day. (They agreed to make mine without the egg whites so it was less filling.) I booked it because, as suspected, after 3 nights at a hostel in Scared Valley, I needed some luxury. The gym was attractive but had no weight machines; just hand weights. After applying the $25 voucher, I paid $25 to use the Spa facilities which consisted of a whirl pool, a hot pool with a circuit of jet and shower massages, a sauna and a steam room; all of which alleviated the little aches and pains incurred from climbing around ruins for a few days.
