This is an amazing hotel. Somehow the rooms, the spaces in the hotel, the pool, the courtyards, the restaurant, all look better in real life than in pictures. The property is very special. When you arrive they tell you a little about the history of the property (going back to Pre-Inca times, apparently), and introduce you to the amenities and services—this experience alone will make you feel that you are staying in a special place. BTW, they pump oxygen into guest rooms via HVAC, so you ease into the high altitude of Cusco.

The amenities are exactly what you would expect from a hotel at this price point: unlimited bottled water, mini-bar that has complimentary snacks and drinks (including alcoholic), beautiful pool, deferential front desk staff who are eager to help and efficient at completing your requests, fantastic breakfast, and much more.

But where the hotel really excels is service. They really go above and beyond what you would expect. Saul, a gentleman at the front desk who checked us in and gave us that introductory hotel history tour, ended up being our main concierge/server for our entire stay: he made himself available to us at any time of day and night to assist us with reservations, with room service, general advice—he made us feel comfortable and welcome which goes beyond just professional responsibility. Similarly, Omar, another gentleman at the front desk, was super-efficient at booking a tour guide for Machu Picchu and all his recommendations for places to see in the city proved to be excellent.

A couple of stories that demonstrate the quality of service here. One morning one of the handles in the shower came off when I applied too much pressure and chipped a little bit when it fell to the floor. I put it back on because I was still using the shower and completely forgot to tell anyone in housekeeping or front desk what had happened. By the time we got back to our room, housekeeping had already noticed that small chip and had the handle replaced. Impressive attention to detail. The second story is when my husband lost his phone and we started panicking because we had to leave to go to the train station to catch a train to Machu Picchu, which, of course, we couldn’t miss. Even though it was a tense moment for us and and we lost our cool, the waiters at the restaurant and housekeeping kept their cool and sprang into action, helping us find the phone and ensuring we make it to the train station on time.

Big kudos to everyone at Palacio Nazarenas. Phenomenal place and phenomenal people!

We have stayed at several luxury hotels but the Belmond Palacio Nazarenes is at the top of the list. Because it was recently renovated, the Nazarenas surpasses its sister hotel the Monasterio by far.

The detailed artwork, authentic colonial interiors, is exquisite but the hotel is extraordinary bc it marries modern amenities that make guests want to return. Every room has oxygen piped in so altitude sickness is not an issue.

The location is superb bc it’s minutes away from the center of town but extremely quiet. The Palacio Nazarenas was a highlight of our trip to Peru, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.

Palacio Nazarenas is a beautiful hotel with stellar service. It is walking distance to all of Cusco's sights, including Sacsayhuaman if you can manage the stairs!

We stayed in a spacious junior suite with a large patio and huge bathroom. All the bedding, towels, soaps and shampoos, etc are of the finest quality. Love the heated floors in the bathroom and the robes and slippers.

We had excellent room service and enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant with great service from Elvis. Our butlers, Daniel and Omar, were incredibly helpful and attentive, even bringing an oxygen, tea, and soup for my husband who was suffering from soroche. Thanks also to Fredy at the front desk.

They arranged a taxi to bring us from the airport (40 soles) and to the train station, and helped us make dining reservations and sightseeing plans. On our way back from the Sacred Valley, they let us store our luggage and use their facilities before our 8pm flight out of Cusco, even though we were no longer guests there.

If you can make it to the spa, Lucia is incredible! The treatment rooms have views of the waterways through a window in the floor, and they make tea for you from fresh herbs on the grounds. Lucia even cut fresh rosemary to put in the steam room for me - all these special touches come together for a magical experience!

This elegant hotel, perfectly situated in the city's heart, offers a sophisticated retreat ideal for both business travelers and tourists. The rooms boast stylish decor, complemented by well-appointed bathrooms and charming terraces—perfect spots for a morning coffee or evening relaxation. The breakfast is a culinary delight, served à la carte with impeccable quality and service that sets a high standard for the day. Equally impressive is the dinner at the Mauka restaurant, where the dishes are exceptional and the service attentive and welcoming. The staff's friendly and attentive approach across all services ensures a stay that is as comfortable as it is memorable.

This is a beautiful property and by a long way the best accommodation and service of our trip to Peru. From the moment you are greeted by the doorman you know you are in for a treat! We arrived after a long drive and were whisked away to our gorgeous rooms - there were so many thoughtful details in the room - from the llama hot water bottles to the mini bar and nightly chocolates. We were looked after by Edgar who is a gem and the service we encountered from all staff was exceptional. The pool area is gorgeous and we enjoyed sitting by the pool in the shade having a late arvo drink! We had an early start on our last day and we were presented with breakfast boxes and coffee on departure. Perfectly positioned - this really is an exceptional property to make your stay in Cusco special!.

6 star hotel - one of the best
I will forever have happy memories of my five nights spent here. This is without a doubt the most luxurious hotel in Cusco ( if not Peru) .
I loved my time here. The hotel is set in an old convent on a small quiet square right in the center of town but tucked away from the bustle. It just oozes discreetness and class from the moment you enter.

The hotel has a beautiful chapel and each room and the lobby is adorned with lovely pottery. The restaurant is wonderful and the pool is sublime. I was so busy in Cusco I didn’t go to the spa but a quick peak it looked heavenly.
Elvis ( his real name) the bar tender deserves a special mention as each night he experimented making one mocktail for me - each one was delicious and he went out of his way to source ingredients. Edgar too who is one of the Butlers was charming and had a kind lovely manner - i feel bad as there was a beautiful lady on reception too who was always so friendly and I have forgotten her name. It seems unfair to single these people out as all the staff at the hotel were outstanding and as others have said seem genuinely interested in their guests and making sure you enjoy your stay.
I was in two minds whether to book here or the monestario ( both Belmond) which is next door.
I visited the monestario for lunch and had a lovely couple of hours there ( the chapel is incredible and the bar a little more busy so more vibey) both are amazing choices but Nazarenas is more quiet and discreet and for me ( being vegetarian) the food was better. ( but it is more expensive).
One huge advantage of this hotel too is that the rooms are oxygenated so it helps with acclimatisation.
You absolutely can’t go wrong staying here. All the staff will be forever etched on my memory. They all deserve accolades for their hospitality. I will always remember my time here.

We stayed two nights in the fabulous Palacio Nazarenas as part of a National Geographic tour, our base for visiting Machu Picchu. I cannot say enough good things about this gorgeous and comfortable hotel, a tranquil oasis near the center of bustling old city Cusco. Our room was as spacious a room as we’ve ever had in a hotel — huge walk-in closet, huge bathroom with large shower stall and separate soaking tub, large combined bedroom and living room and a large private balcony. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, the bed very comfortable and it was very quiet all night. The hotel has several courtyards and the rooms overlook them, which contributes to the elimination of street noise. The public areas are tasteful and serene. There is a modest size swimming pool in one of the courtyards, but no fitness center. Service is top notch. The Palacio is clearly a 5 star property and among the nicer hotels in which we have ever stayed, anywhere. I highly recommend it.

My wife and I toured and hiked all over Peru. We decided to stay in all Belmond Hotels during our visit and it ended up being the best decision of the entire trip. Each hotel was equally as beautiful and comfort as the next. The staff at this location were all true professionals and so accommodating to any of our needs. They made our stay that much better. And the hotel itself was one of the nicest we've ever experienced in our 30 years of marriage.

This is undoubtedly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. My first impression of the hotel didn’t seem that great. From the outside it doesn’t seem that impressive. Even once you are inside you seem to be guided around numerous narrow passageways, which eventually open out onto a swimming pool. I obviously wasn’t paying attention because we got lost several times trying to find our way back to reception.

However, our room was spectacular. It was very spacious with a huge four poster bed and a separate bathroom which was as large as many hotel rooms in Europe. The room was lavishly equipped. I have stayed in many hotels that have offered the use of a bathrobe, but it is unusual to be offered a choice of silk or cotton. Likewise, many hotels provide a mini bar but I have never stayed in one that included a free mini bar with two large bottles of free spirits as well. I loved the two small furry smiling faces in the bed which turned out to be hot water bottles. It really was as if someone had thought of everything that would delight you.

The restaurant was on the other side of the swimming pool and we hardly bothered to go out from the hotel because it was so good. The food at dinner was superb and the service very impressive. Breakfast by the side of the pool was also great and was accompanied by a live harpist. By the second day we were both beginning to suffer from over eating so we decided to skip dinner in favour of a snack at the bar. This turned out to be a mistake since our “snack” was so huge we had to leave most of it.

By this time we had started to find our way around the hotel and had more opportunity to admire many of it’s features including the chapel and another internal courtyard and the Inca ruins and drainage system that the building had been built on.

I don’t know how much this hotel cost to stay at, but it was worth it.

I arrived at this hotel being a big Belmont fan, having stayed at the Miraflores in Lima and the Rio Sagrado in the Sacred Valley and both are exceptional hotels and I arrived at the Palacio Nazarenes a beautiful building with lots of history. On arrival I was speedily checked in and upgraded to a very nice room but after that it was totally downhill when it came to food and restaurants. There is only one restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner with limited menus and food generally arriving cold. But tonight was the ultimate drop in standards, we sat in the only restaurant my wife and I and the only other people in the restaurant were a table of ten, the other guests in the hotel avoided the place. There was a loud band playing, the doors to the restaurant had been left open by the waiters and the place was uncomfortably cold, but then a couple of dancers arrived doing a cabaret next to our table, after 15 minutes of this fiasco, the dancers asked the table of 10 to join then on the floor, please try and imagine the only couple in this small restaurant trying to eat their dinner amidst this pantomime. We left without finishing the dinner and went to the front desk who seemed apologetic but had no answer, we received a call from the duty manager telling us if we want a better meal tomorrow we should go to the Belmont Monastrio next door, that in itself spoke volumes. I would really advise people to stay elsewhere this is a conveyor belt for tour groups in one night and out the next

I am not sure, but the court yard rooms around the pool area are exposed and close to public areas, so my instinct would say smoking is not allowed. There are other room areas that perhaps allow smoking. I am not a smoker. I did notice that smoking is not prevalent in the area by locals.
