My husband and I chose Selina Plaza de Armas for two nights of our Peru trip last month and it was a win on many levels. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, informative, and accommodating. The location is great - near lots of incredible restaurants and coffee shops. (The bottom floor had its own restaurant with great food as well, perfect for a quick breakfast or late night snack.) The price was extremely affordable for the quality of stay. Our room was clean, warm, and we very much enjoyed the hot showers after two days of hiking and exploring. We were able to laundry half way through and they took care of our clothing with care. We even had a few items that had very specific cleaning instructions and the service they use handled it well. In addition to providing directions and advice on things to do in Cusco, this hotel also works with a tour agency that can get you to Rainbow Mountain, Moray, and more. We ended up doing the 7 lakes of Ausangate which was incredible. We would like to thank Frank especially for being such a kind friend and wonderful source of information for us. Thanks for making this experience great! We'll be back!

The website pictures are misleading and look much nicer than it is - the room images are bright and look very hotel-like, but my room was a lot darker. It’s much more of a hostel.
For 100 USD a night (without breakfast) it’s a lot, especially for a hostel.
I had an early start for Machu Picchu (as I expect most guests do staying here) and yet there were some very loud banging and renovation works on my floor until 9pm and then I didn’t get to sleep until 1am due to other loud clearing up noises downstairs plus loud talking. I messaged reception at this time and they said they were asking them to quieten down.
I’d booked to come back here a couple of days after my hike - if I hadn’t pre paid I would’ve definitely gone somewhere else. That said, the second time was better as I asked to stay somewhere quieter.
On a more positive note, friendly reception and appreciated being able to store my luggage, helpful that the airport transfer could be arranged and great location.

Had a great stay at Selina Plaza de Armas! Good food, some rooms may be able to hear the music a little louder than others in the evenings but it doesn’t play throughout the night. The hostel staff and tour desk staff were super helpful in organising tours/taxis and making sure my stay was comfortable. Lounge area was a nice place to relax and socialise. Very ideal location close to Plaza de Armas

We stayed here a few days and, we hated it!

The pros, it was very close to the city center with lots to do in that area and places to eat.

The cons, we arrived and immediately noticed it wasn’t you basic hotel. It’s more of a hostel and hotel mixture. Yes they have rooms with their own bathroom, how we stayed, but they also have the hotel experience. The downside, we felt the hostel aspect of the hotel destroyed the quiet hotel experience.

The common area was used by people to watch sports on the tv, play games, listen to music, work on computers, chat, eat, and lay down. This created noise underneath our window all night long until about 1am daily!

We initially planned to come back to this hotel after a few days hiking. We decided to cancel the return stay and the hotel refused to refund the days we canceled 4 days in advance.

This was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve ever had.

It's a horrible place.
Bathroom with water leak.
Walking dogs between tables.
The food is terrible, there is no way to eat it, even with a dog walking between the tables and sniffing you at meal time.
Loud music late at night.
A true horror show.

The location of this Selina is excellent, you are 2 mins from Plaza del Armas , 5 mins from San Pedro market and so on. The only issue I had was noise. If you like to get a good sleep, this isn't a place for you. I had to be moved to a different room, further from the action and Vilbert made it possible and I want to make sure he's recognized for a great service!!

Two of us from the UK stayed in a twin room for 3 nights before, and 1 night after an Inca trail trek.
The Selina exceeded all expectations.
It was well located in the city centre, a few minutes walk from the main plaza. The accommodation was spacious, spotlessly clean and the bathroom facilities worked well. Meals were of high quality and reasonably priced.
But what really stood out was the staff who were invariably hard working and always with a smile on their faces. We didn’t learn all of their names but outstanding were Nicole on reception, Patti and Jeff in the restaurant and Angie in the bar. The hotel is fortunate to employ these people. Thank you all.
As an aside, several of our group stayed in air bnbs. It was notable that several encountered problems when they returned from the trek, from being locked out to having no water. At the Selina, we just carried on where we had left off.
Should we find ourselves in Cusco again, we will undoubtedly return.

We had a lovely time a Selinas! Room, breakfast and staff was great. We could definitely see ourselves come back to Selinas if we return to Cusco. When we did the Inca Trail we were also able to store our luggage at Selinas, which was really appreciated.

It’s ridiculous: Nobody gave any reason why we pay 175 soles ( more than 50 US Dollar ) for 1 shot of Tequila Patron . We had 5 shots , so 875 soles . This is more than all the room rate for 7 nights !!
Be careful with Selina Hotels around the world . It’s boring and some prices absolutely ridiculous
Next time we prefer Kokopelli!!

Breakfast is not included, but there is a breakfast menu. There are also many places just nearby to go for breakfast instead.
