Had a lovely few nights at this very nice little hotel. Staff were all super friendly, breakfast was very tasty and feels very safe as someone always locks the door behind you and have to ring the doorbell to get in. The staff helped us organise a taxi to the airport when we left which was great! Also the ‘San Blas’ part of Cusco is really nice very cool and lots of little quirky bits to explore!

This hotel is small and cozy, this near the central square, we are walking through San Blas, so we were 4 days, stored our luggage when we went to Machu Picchu, also offer you a discount without even ask, but you must pay cash, that's no problem, I recommend.

Very poor looking on exterior, but charming inside in a very narrow street in San Blas (too narrow for cars), but charming situation and warmth of character. Breakfasts only available (basic Peruvian), but plenty of good eating within 1-2 mins walk. Staff very efficient, excellent English and every effort to address requests. Arranged laundry at I suspect local prices, and made special arrangements for an early breakfast. We left our luggage whilst we went overnight to Machu Picchu - on return already in our new room. Very close to Plaza de Armas (but very steep walk up to hotel, but I consider shows character of Cusco) and surrounding shopping areas and San Blas markets. Both rooms adequate size. Loved the coca tea available (real leaves, not tea bags) with hot water anytime by reception. Considered best overall value on Peruvian trip.

Staff seemed to be very unprepared and without experience.
They confirmed by email a transfer service from the airport and hadn´t appeared. They even had sent a simple email canceling the transfer service and hadn´t explained the fault. We wasted time and money paying a taxi from the airport, which charged exorbitant cost and didn´t know the hotel and it´s exactly location, because the entrance of the hotel is in a small room in San Blas neighborhood, which the car could not reach. You have to get off the taxi at the Plazoleta San Blas or lateral street and walk.
I have reserved two months earlier a matrimonial room for me and my wife and we received a twin room with three singles beds as it was normal.

The rooms don´t have phone service. The windows have thin curtains , it is impossible to sleep after 6 am due to clarity.

They say that breakfast time begins at 6 am, but when we went there at 6 am , needing to take a taxi to airport 15 minutes later, it was not ready and took time to be prepared.

It was good: cleanliness and silence of the room; location - San Blas neighborhood.

We just returned from an Inka Trail trek, and we found that this hotel was the perfect place to spend 4 days in Cusco getting acclimated. We had a very simple, clean room with a private bath and a wonderful view of the city below us. The street (Tandapata) does not have any cars, so it was wonderful walking back to the hotel in the evening and having some peace and quiet. The staff could not have been more friendly and accomodating, and we really enjoyed their wonderful breakfasts (eggs, bread, juice and fresh fruit), not to mention coca tea. Wi-fi is available in a separate private room which was much appreciated.

I stayed at this hotel for a total of 4 nights at the start and end of a trekking trip. The hotel is clean, but basic. The rooms in the basement / lower levels tended to be very cold (according to others in my group) so opt for a room on the higher levels. Staff are very friendly and helpful and there is plenty of coca tea to go around. The eggs at breakfast are a welcome treat - especially after completing the trekking! Great location too - 10 minute walk down to the main square (though its a tough trek up until you acclimatise!).

I chose this place after a few nights in a nearby hostel where I had paid roughly the same price for lower quality and less comfort. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the beds are very comfortable, nice towels, good breakfast, great location. I'd definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay in Cusco, right at the top of the San Blas plaza. The inn arranged for a pickup for us at the airport, he was waiting for us right at arrival, and showed us quite a few places of note on the drive in. Super friendly staff, one of whom lent us her personal laptop when we were having issues with our online banking through our phone apps. We had a room on the second floor down, still a great view of Cusco from our balcony. Hot water in the shower whenever we needed, breakfast was simple, but good, and they kept the coca leaves and hot water at the reception desk stocked all the time! They held an extra bag for us while we were on the Salkantay trek, and had it waiting in our room for us when we returned later in the week, no extra cost for storage. Fairly short walk to the Plaza de Armas; we liked the walk up Calle Hatun Rumiyuq, as we wanted to acclimatize for Salkantay and the other higher altitude treks we were doing, and it was an awesome route to see the neighbourhood by! We`d highly recommend the Andean South Inn, good price and cozy stay!

I just spent a few nights at Andean South before and after doing the Salcantay Trek. The hotel is right next to the Plazoleta San Blas, about a 10 minute walk uphill from the central plaza (Plaza de Armas). San Blas is a a quiet and pretty square, with little stands selling jewelry and alpaca wool products during the day. There are a lot of little cafes / bakeries and restaurants on Calle Tandapata near the hotel.

The reception is kind and friendly, and there is complimentary hot water and tea at all times in the lobby. The wifi works well in the lobby, not so well in the rooms, which are basic and clean, with televisions and plug-in heaters if you need them. The only downside was the lack of hot water....made showers somewhat uncomfortable. Breakfast is complimentary, a buffet of several different platters of fresh fruits, fresh flat bread, with butter and jam, plus coffee.

I found the service to be excellent. When I first arrived from the Cuzco airport, my taxi took me to the wrong end of Tandapata, and I couldn't find this place because the numbers don't go in order...I ended up ringing the doorbell of a different hotel and asking them to call Andean South for me. One of the Andean South receptionists, Anna, came and found me and accompanied me to the South Andean. It was very kind, especially at 7am on a cold morning!

This place is great value, $50 for a nice double room....and they will hold your bags for you while you trek if you want!
