Issac and Benedicta are truly the most special, kind and welcoming people I have every met. We stayed here before we got the train to Machu Picchu and wish we could have stayed longer than one night. We arrived and they made us breakfast/lunch free of charge, and a lovely evening meal accompanied with vinyl music. The food was delicious and coffee heavenly! They woke up at 5:30am especially for us to get the train. Don Issac was so helpful- when we arrived back from aguas calientes he was waiting to pick us up at the station, even though it is 1 minute away from their house- with a taxi he had booked for us to take us back to Cusco. It was like being part of a family away from home- our Peruvian grandparents. We couldn’t thank them enough. We will never forget them.

A special place to stay. I would HIGHLY recommend La Olla Peruana in Poroy. It is 1 minute walk from the train station, so the location is unbeatable. But what is so special is the family you stay with. Home cooked meals, the breakfast is included, which was so good. We also had a delicious lunch. Isacc, their son was happy to escort us into Cusco and back, recommend places in Machu Picchu, help us to the train, the list goes on.

Isaac and Benedicta are 2 of the sweetest people I have ever met. They will take very good care if you. The place is clean and food is great. The location, right across from the train station is perfect.

La Olla Peruana is right across the street from Poroy Train Station (Peru Rail) and we are so glad we found this place! We stayed here twice. On the way up to Machu Picchu and on the way back down, each time included a delicious breakfast that I am still salivating over! The night we got there we opted for dinner and got a 3 course meal for 2 people for 20 soles (6 USD). It was SO GOOD and incredibly large portions! The Sleeping quarters were fine, and there were plenty of blankets to stay warm and cable was a nice touch. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here, we were treated like friends, and we even had a tour of the area by the owner and he walked us back and forth to the train... but bring ear plugs because there is a donkey outside that will bay at 0300 :)

We had rooms for 5 people. We happened to be there on a Sunday when Isaacs parents operate a restaurant where they serve local dishes. It's amazingly good. They have every thing from Vegetarian dishes to Cuy. They make you feel like you are long lost family! Truly worth a visit and stay. It's much easier to leave from here than any place in Cusco or the surrounding area as they are literally located across from the train station in Poroy. Senior Isaac took us into the small village and introduced us to some of the locals who were attending a fiesta in the village. It was a great experience. Everyone enjoyed it!!
