My girlfriend and I arrived at the property around 9 in the evening with just enough time to take a bath and go to bed because the next day we had booked a tour early in the morning to Machu Picchu ( we had to get up at 3am ). As we got to our room the staff told us to let some water run until it started to get warm, we waited 10.. 15 minutes.. we called to the front desk and they told us to keep waiting. Almost an hour passed since we had arrived and we still were out of hot water. We called again to the front desk, and they told us that we were going to move to another room that had warm water (two stories bellow and we had to search for the room ourselves ‘cause no one waited for us or told us where to go). We had already unpacked so we had to put on clothes and pack again In order to change to the other room just to find out that it was also out of hot water!! We had to wait almost an hour more until the staff at the property called a technician to figure out what was wrong and try to fix it. We were exhausted because we traveled and drove all day long and we’re stressed because we had few hours to sleep so you can imagine what a good time we were having. In the end we were able to take a quick shower with not-so-warm water, my girl has a gorgeous long hair and the fact that they were out of hair conditioner was the last straw and we lost it. We had about 3 hours of sleep out of the 7 hours planned, no hot water, no hair conditioner, we were out of our minds angry, exhausted and stressed and finally we were charged the full fair and got nothing from the staff for the awful experience. They had a big bed, nice location, but I’ll never book there again not even if they pay me.…
The staff treated me and my wife excellent so close to the Plaza de Armas , after our tours we sip some tea and take nightly stroll the front desk was always attentive to our needs, my wife never wanted to leave, I strongly suggest this hotel the next time you visit cusco. They treat you like family
Very good place to stay next to plaza de armas, in the heart of Cuzco. Easy to get there. Very clean and cosy. Very nice and helpful staff. Located in a tiny street where you can find restaurants. Good value for money!!!
Pros: extremely clean, beautiful interior, friendly staff, great location Cons: impossible to sleep at night due to laud music coming from the street, literally going on until 4am ..so ask for the room facing inside.. wifi is terrible as well.
One of the greatest assets of this hotel is its location, less than a minute's walk away from the Plaza the Armas, the beautiful beating heart of Cuzco, from where every attraction is within walking distance. The staff was really sweet and helpful, including the people at the reception, and the lady in the kitchen, who, with a caring smile and a genuine wish to make everyone happy, accommodated every guest's wish, regardless of whether your wish is on the menu or not. La Casona Real has a classic colonial style inner courtyard, providing space and peace to the place. There is plenty of hot water, and good pressure on it, too, in the showers. I suggest that when you book, request a room that is not facing the tiny alley from where you enter the hotel. It is busy at night, with people, gringos and locals alike, including drug dealers, and sometimes dogs making a noise. Also, one of the rooms facing the street has a nightclub right through the wall. So ask not to be placed in that one as well. When we asked to shift from a room that had no window, we were offered 'the nightclub room'. But only because it was the only other room available. We were warned it could be a bit noisy, but came through it all right, with earplugs. Upon our return, a few days later, they had kept a really good room for us. So they did their best to make us happy.…
