My fiance and I just returned from spending 2 weeks in Ecuador and we stayed at Casa Joaquin a total of 4 nights interspersed throughout our trip. Basically, if we were in Quito, we tried to stay here. We had an amazing stay and the hotel is central to so many areas. I loved this hotel because it was so light, bright, clean, comfortable, and the breakfast and coffee in the morning was delicious. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were well sized, the showers were hot, and everyone was so nice. Francisco was the best and he made our trip 1000% better with his recommendations on places to visit and restaurants to try. He spoke English really well (which was helpful when we stumbled on a lack of certain words in Spanish). We were organizing a trip to climb the nearby glaciated volcano Cayambe and we were able to keep some of our non-climbing luggage at the hotel while we were away for a few days. He arranged for us to receive our Covid tests at the hotel for our return to the US and helped with airport transportation. I would highly recommend Casa Joaquin and we would absolutely stay here again.

Casa Joaquin is the perfect cozy home base in Quito, thanks in large part to the hospitality of Francisco, who must be the world's nicest and most helpful hotel manager. He was always available with suggestions, assistance booking activities, restaurants, taxis, etc - and a hot cup of coca tea after a long day. Can't overstate how much I appreciated all of this in between my adventures around Ecuador. The rooms are simple but comfortable, breakfast included, and the hotel is conveniently located. Definitely stay here and book direct - hotel aggregators take a big commission and every bit helps for these independent hotels in the face of Covid.

We stayed at the Casa Juaquin in December of 2021, it was a lovely experience. Francisco and his family went out of their ways to make sure we were comfortable, had all the information we needed, and fed us amazing breakfasts! We highly recommend this boutique hotel not just for its location, but for it's highly accommodating staff.

It's hard to know where to begin with this review. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would do so in a heartbeat. Casa Joaquin was our main base during a 10 day visit to Ecuador. Sr. Francisco was extremely friendly and welcoming from day one, and he and his mother attended to the smallest of needs, doing so flawlessly and with a smile on their faces (well, according to their eyes, since they were masked most of the time). When my return home was delayed by 3 days due to illness, they never made me feel like I was imposing or taking up space. In fact, they treated me like family and for that I will always be grateful. The hotel is very charming, with a good location, and a beautiful terraza that creates an atmosphere that reflects peace and calm. I had breakfast (which was always very tasty!) up there twice, and toasted my last night up there with a glass of wine. I would highly recommend Casa Joaquin, and hope to visit again in the future! Muchísimas grácias, Sr. Francisco. Mucho gusto a conocerte, y espero que podríamos visitar en el futuro.

This charming architecturally designed hotel on three levels in the centre of the Mariscal district is well worth your visit! It offers both the older style charm with modern comforts. Very clean rooms providing an excellent breakfast and a quaint little bar to relax after a day's sightseeing. The hotel is very well run by the bilingual manager Francisco, for whom nothing is too much trouble and who will happily assist with suggestions of reliable transport. I would very happily stay there again. Thank you and muchas gracias
