Hotel Fauna is located on a narrow and friendly alley overlooking the bay and harbor of Valparaíso. With a funicular cable car nearby one descends into the center of town within ten minutes! It has two suites, five superior rooms and seven standard rooms. We had one of the very

Superb service from all staff who were friendly, professional and exceptionally helpful. Great restaurant with wonderful views. Our room was very comfortable but be aware the hotel has several floors and no lift. Location really good right in the heart of the old town and

Hotel Fauna is nothing short of a treat. From a design perspective, it is unique---interesting, warm, modern, hip yet welcoming. The rooms each have their own flavor and many have unusual wall paintings. In addition, the restaurant is outstanding and, along with the open-air

There are restaurants/bars nearby with outdoor facilities that play music until 3:00 am. The noise from these facilities can be heard inside the room. We had four rooms in various locations and no one could sleep until they closed. Our room was on the bottom floor -- we were

The Superior at the Hotel Fauna
Sorry I can't help you, we had booked into this hotel but found it didn't meet our requirements and so moved to a better hotel in the group Taxis are available at Santiago airport that go to Valparaiso at a reasonable cost, but this hotel is difficult to locate as the road doesn't go to it, you will have to walk up steps and along a footpath.

Is there an elevator?
No, if you are disabled it is not a good choice to go to Fauna or Valparaiso as 80% of the roads are shaped as stairs

What are options for parking a car?
Hello 74jeffz, There are a few options regarding parking. We offer a carpark which we rent from some neighbours. It´s not far from the hotel and costs 10.000 pesos (or US $20) from check-in to check-out. This needs to be booked in advance and is subject to availability, as we only have 2 spaces. Please let us know if you´re interested. It is necessary to confirm one week before arrival. Also the parking place is not too big, only city car. There is also a public underground parking garage ¨Estacionamiento Bellavista¨ in Intendencia square, which is located on the corner of Avenida Brasil and Bellavista. This car park costs $3.500 pesos per night or $10.500 pesos for 24 hours and is about a 5 minute walk from the Hotel. The last option would be to park your car in the street. We recommend Calle Dr. Grossi, which is the first street on your left after you pass Paseo DImalow (the street where the Hotel is located), Calle Lautaro Rosas and Calle San Enrique (the first and second streets respectively, after you pass Paseo Dimalow. If you have another other questions, don´t hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Iris Julio A.

How does one arrange transport from Santiago to the hotel? What would be the cost per person?
Good morning, Well like everybody says before the cheapest way is to take a bus to Valparaiso from Pajarito and once you arrive to the bus station you can take a taxi just outside. This taxi should cost CLP$5.000 to CLP$6.000.- We can also arrange transfer service from the airport to our hotel. Depending the season this could cost arround USD$110.00.- Regards, Iris Julio A. Front desk manager.
