This is a hotel with a lot of history and, in our view, is still a national treasure. It has to be one of the best hotels that we have stayed in. It is a unique design perched on a hill with very room having amazing views over the lake. The staff were very welcoming and helpful at all times. Our room was large and very comfortable with a good sized bathroom, super views and a wood fire - we really wanted to try this but it the weather was beautifully hot! Dinner in the restaurant was very good as was breakfast. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and well worth exploring, with hidden waterfalls and lake access. It is about 20-25 mins walk into Pucon which is very pretty with plenty of shops, restaurants and tour companies giving access to the whole region.
From the moment we arrived staff were helpful, friendly, and obliging. We loved looking around the the gardens, and we were blown away by the view of the lake from our room. The food was excellent too and we had the most relaxing massages in the spa area. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Went for dinner with my family. Service is excellent and the waiters are attentive and helpful, making you feel comfortable to enjoy every minute. We first had our drinks and appetizers outside with the beautiful garden view with the lake on the background, and later went inside to have our dinner. We were 7 people; all the dishes came in at the same time and the food was delicious!! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service. It's a MUST if you come to Pucón area. Worth it from start to end.
Reception desk was extremely brusque, had to wait to be served as there was always a queue and made you feel they were doing you a favour. Rest of the staff were excellent but overall rating for service reflects the offhand Reception. Great location and room was large with a fireplace which was a nice touch. Bathroom was very basic, shower light was not working, and the towels were very rough and old. Buffet breakfast was squashed against the wall in a tiny area so you had to keep moving round people. Choice was very limited and disappointing for a hotel of this standard. However the omelette was excellent. Paths around the grounds were loose and in need of repair. Hotel needs a revamp.
We had read about Hotel Antumalal, but until we arrived and started walking the grounds, enjoying the views (including beautiful sunsets), dipping in the lake, spending a quiet night, we just didn't know what we'd find. Javi and the rest of the staff were great and set up a great hike with Elena to Huerquehue, fly fishing with Gonzalo and Felipe, and cycling also with Gonzalo and Eduardo. Wonderful experience.
