We stayed here for two nights on our tour of Chile and Argentina. The hotel is situated about 2 miles out of Pucón with fantastic views of the lake and mountains. You can’t really walk into town unless you walk along busy main road but we had a car and other people got taxis into Pucón. Many famous people have stayed here including the Queen, Neil Armstrong and James Stewart and you can understand why. The rooms again have great views the food in the restaurant is very good and we watched the sunset on both nights whilst eating dinner. All the staff are very friendly and always keen to help. Great place to stay in the ChileN Lake District and it’s very close to the active Volcano Villerarraci which dominates the skyline. Lots to see on the area including waterfalls and…
Hotel Antumalal is an architectural gem in Pucón, an historic hotel that makes you feel privileged to stay there. All the furniture was designed for the property à la Frank Lloyd Wright — very cool if not super comfortable, with unique touches at every turn. Does it show its age? A little — it could use some TLC in a few corners. But plenty of new hotels can do clean and spotless and boring. Stay here for the history, the view, and a chance to feel like royalty.
A great hotel. A little out of town (25 minute walk), the view from the restaurant and sitting area is simply amazing. You also get the same view from the bedrooms. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We did the tour of the area and sailing on the catamaran, both worth it. Watching the sunset on the lake while sailing on the boat was fantastic. The food in the restaurant is good and a perfect spot for lunch or dinner.
This place is all about its stunning location and as we also fouind out its top class restauarnt. But first impressions are not altogether favourable. It's a slightly tortuous woodland drive to get there and what then greets you is the end of a grim-looking low rise. You think "this can't be it", but it is. Once inside, however, all becomes clear. This hotel was obviously, at one time "the" place to be in this part of the Chilean lakes. It's now somewhat dated and in need of sprucing up a bit but the staff, the ambience and above all the views and the fabulous grounds means you've probably made the right choice. The restauarant seals the deal, as good food and wine as we enjoyed anywhere in Chile. So, not without its faults but much to recommend.
Wonderful building, stunning location, excellent staff in the reception area and in the restaurant. It has a beautiful view of the lake, great suggestions for excursions, staff ready to accommodate plans and make suggestions, driver available for short or day long trips in the lake region. Pucon is nice small town with all the modern amenities one would need and the area is spectacular and low intensity.
