More than just a place to sleep, the Antumalal offers an unforgettable experience. Building began in 1945 fusing vanguard architectural forms with functionality and complete integration with the surroundings. To this day the unique character has been preserved, and all areas offer the amenities of a luxurious boutique hotel. Each of the 22 rooms is paneled with local wood and stone and all materials and furnishings are locally made. The panoramic windows look out over the private park and lake instigating a feeling of calm and total rest.

The Hotel Antumalal has something that you can never take away: a stunningly beautiful view and peaceful grounds to match. Walking into the hotel lobby is breathtaking, with crystal clear views of Lago Villarica and the surrounding mountains. The rooms have a cabin-y feel, even down to the smell, which matches the forest surroundings. The bed was really comfortable, and opening the windows wide open to hear the birds and feel the breeze is magical. The scenery was so stunning that I have to give the Antumalal 5 stars. However.... the hotel could use a small, aesthetic renovation. The bathroom is not 5 star hotel quality and some small details weren't spotlessly clean like price would demand. I also thought the breakfast was a bit underwhelming. It was just fine. Overall, the idyllic setting and views make it all worth it. We did not want to leave. The Lakes region of Chile is marvelous, and this is an excellent place to stay if you can get in at the right price.

Arriving at this hotel makes you gasp - the aspect, the architecture, the plants, the spa area. We felt totally spoiled during our two-night stay and spent new year's here. Most importantly, nothing has been mucked about with architecturally, the original concept is still totally respected, so you do not feel like you are in a hotel, rather a friend's exclusive home

This was a lovely retreat with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. They were very accommodating about our early breakfasts (early tour and departure day). We had dinner here twice - lots of good choices in a lovely setting. They say it is 2K from town, and maybe so but we only walked it once. Into town is downhill, but we got an Uber back! Very nice pool area - and good internet!

What a place 2km outside Pucón - walking distance or £2 taxi ride- this hotel is right on the lake shore with grounds to the beach ( where there is a hidden gem of a room) West facing gives fabulous sunset views from the restaurant which I have reviewed separately and is excellent in its own right for residents or non residents. Fresh produce from the hotel garden resulted in really excellent salads. Really enjoyed the open fire in the lounge conducive to talking to other guests if so wish. Bar had excellent wine list and also supported an open fire. Each room has its own fire but fortunately ( or unfortunately!) the weather was too hot to use. Staff speak perfect English and are genuinely helpful and friendly. I needed to do some work one morning before breakfast and sat by the fire in the lounge laptop on knee only to be brought some coffee by a staff member without even asking for it. That’s the sort of family run not Corporate place this is -and long may it continue. Really enjoyed the sauna in the SPA although the pool temperature was “ bracing “ and the changing facilities lacking with only one shared shower. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip stayed here in 1968 as have many other dignatories on the wall of fame. So what needs to improve ? Some very minor maintenance niggles for hotel info only really - So basics like weeding the patio steps outside the lounge - odd because the grounds are really well kept. The hot tub was in permanent rest mode in the SPA The toilet constantly flowed wasting water and wasnt fixed when asked But perhaps the bigger jobs also need considering. The internet speed was low but i managed but could be improved The main issue for us is we really don’t like a shower over a bath and shower curtain. Think that’s too much of a bygone time and a programme to upgrade en-suite would be sensible although costly. Don’t be put off by this point- still a fabulous hotel it was a privilege to stay in as it feels like someone’s home but don’t expect a luxury bathroom. Clean and functional but if you know what to expect then can’t be disappointed.

Set in a beautiful location with extensive gardens and own private beach (albeit of lava shingle) We stayed here for two nights. The room was a good size with a very large bed and log fire if required. The restaurant and bar have fantastic views overlooking the lake whilst sipping that pre dinner drink. The restaurant food was of a high quality and would I highly recommend the hake dish. All portions are large, so choose wisely. All the staff without exception were attentive and helpful and would even refill our water bottles upon request. I’d highly recommend staying here.
