We stayed for four nights prior to flying on to Auckland NZ and during the Chinese New Year celebrations. Situated at the top of Orchard Road the hotel is very convenient for all the restaurants and shopping malls on Orchard Road. Very convenient for the Botanical Gardens. The hop on hop off buses stop just outside the hotel as do the regular services. The underground is a short walk away. Our room was very comfortable with a small bath and walk-in shower and the breakfast had more variety than we've seen in many hotels - something for all tastes. Staff are very polite and helpful. There is a supermarket just around the corner inside the Claymore Connect, very useful for bottled water et cetera. The only issue we encountered was the lack of seating in reception whilst waiting for our pick up to go to the airport, lots of people were standing around.

This was a last minute (1 week ago) staycation for stay on 18-19dec 2020. Although there was no pre-booked check in time slot but we were able to check in at 2pm on arrival date. No late check out was granted as the hotel was fully booked. The hotel managed the counter check in situation well with quite a number of staff there ensuring there were no long queues and they will pass us some forms to fill in our particulars first while waiting, so that check in will be faster later on.
We were assigned the grand deluxe twin room 1319 at the orchard wing and the recently refurbised room looks really in a good condition. We were spoilt by the number of charging points available, including 4 USB outlets. It was also a pleasant surprise when the hotel staff personally delivered the otters festive christmas hamper to our room shortly after check in. This hamper certainly exceeded our expectation as it was only described as 'christmas goodies giveaway' in the description.
As part of our Otters festive adventure package, we were also given $100 dining credit. Note that the dining credit cannot be stacked with discounts, neither can it be used after check out. As we stayed for only 1 night, we used it for dinner at orchard cafe. Due to the holiday peak season, advised to reserve your seats in advance. We ordered from their ala carte menu and we were satisfied.
Breakfast seating is on first come first serve basis. Breakfast starts at 6.30am. Generally, there seems to be less crowd before 8pm. We felt that the breakfast buffet choices is limited considering the price of the breakfast buffet. When we dine on 19 dec, they allowed us to approach the buffet counters to order the food and the servers will take the food and give it to us.
Check out was fuss free, we just need to deposit the room card in the express check out box. We were also able to obtain a complimentary car park coupon from the staff.
Note that currently the link from orchard hotel to claymore connect shopping mall is closed. Guests need to enter claymore connect via the main entrance.
Overall, we are very satisfied with our stay at Orchard Hotel. No doubt the hotel exterior seems old, but the newly refurbished room, christmas decorations in the lobby and the staff friendly gestures make up for it. The otters festive adventure package is really value for money especially with SGRediscover voucher. Highly recommended!

The hotel was fined $1000 by STB for breaching the limit for gathering. Hence the hotel had $100 promotion for premier room to attract more sales. There is a staff manning the premier and deluxe wing respectively after their fines. Previously, stayed there 3 times, there wasnt this measure. The staff would ensure that all guest have register themselves, including visitors. He would also ask for your room number. Just like Royal Plaza Hotel in HK, where the staff would "mark attendance", to ensure that not more than x number of guest + visitors are going into the room.
Check in time is at 3pm, and check out time is at 11am. The premier room is bigger than the deluxe room. however the deluxe room is more recently renovated . The bathroom though looks smaller than the premier room, but was very nicely decorated with white wall and marble flooring. The bathtub in the deluxe room is square type, with separate standing shower beside it. For the premier room, the bathtub is separated from the separate standing shower. But the separate standing shower head is stuck on the wall, not handheld type. The deluxe room television is bigger at 50inch, but the premier room television is about 40 inch at max. Many channels to choose from, both locals and overseas channels.
Parking is free, and there would always be parking spaces. The carpark is located just beside the mall (with cold storage inside). Do not miss the small lane to drive into the carpark, else you would be driving towards Hilton Singapore (aka Voco Orchard staring from Jan 2022).
Checked in at 1pm, no long queue. Was expected as have been staying there for at least 3 times this year.
For the bathtub, there were quite a few small patches stuck onto the bathtub. We tried to wash away but it stays there. Meaning to say that either the housekeeping has not been cleaning the bathtub, and the stains was left there for a long period of time, and that it was stuck there forever already. Kinda disgusting lying on the bathtub with the stains on it. hence we didnt really use the bathtub to shower, but used it to soak our legs instead.
For the breakfast, you can request for them to send into your room. You can choose between western or chinese or vegetarian. You have to inform them one day in-advance to prepare them and make the necessary arrangements. The staff would push up a very big trolley, just like the ones that the cabin crew would push when serving meals on-board the plane. Taste wise is good, but the portion was not big enough, considering you are paying $35 for their breakfast per pax.

A big thank you to front desk officer Yen who had handled our online booking and resolved the confusion of our online hotel stay purchase. She acted promptly & politely and explained well the cause of the confusion & offered a satisfactory decision on the issue. Check-in was quick at 2pm as there was no queue. Our request for a room with a view was not too bad on the 14th floor. Hotel service had gifted us a couple of yummy chocolate cakes for our anniversary....thank you very much for the gesture! Room is of a good size with reno touch-ups made to give the room a slightly modern look while retaining the clean marble style in the bathrooms. Beddings were comfy & clean. Full toiletries were supplied. Breakfast buffet was an adequate selection and the restaurant was efficiently run. In terms of security checks of guests staying at the hotel....this hotel is tip-top & very stringent about such rules and regulations during this time of pandemic. Good value for a well located hotel in Orchard Road!

Stayed here for quarantine, would not recommend for anything, and especially not staycations. Totally does not look like pictures! I've stayed in a lot of hotels the last 2 months and this was by far the worst. Even smaller than what I stayed in in Europe (does not even have a sofa! I felt quite claustrophobic being in there 2 weeks) and room is dated in spite of supposed recent refurbishment. I suspect they included the size of the long corridor in the room size, but it's not like anyone hangs out in the corridor. If anything it's an inconvenience. Toilet smelled even on day 1. AC does not go above 25C so if you're cold you have no choice. Asked for help, they sent a technician down who told me switch on all the lights, as light emits heat... seriously... Front desk doesn't always pick up. Lunch is served late at like 230pm or 830pm, usually I just order because I can't wait so long. I think the only advantage is that its cheaper than other hotels in the area, but since it seems quarantine guests are paying above average room rate and don't have a choice we are kind of stuck, but I suppose that's a unique situation. This quarantine experience at Orchard Hotel made a very poor end to everything and I hope they stop placing people here as quarantine is already an unpleasant experience. I do think people would pay more for a nicer hotel. I would. Plus sides are staff are polite and restaurant food is pretty good. I guess I would call this hotel a budget choice if you're a tourist wanting to be in a hotel in Orchard, personally not anywhere I'd stay willingly.

Located on Orchard road in Singapore makes this hotel an ideal base if you want to take advantage of the many shopping malls located along this road. Public transport is easily accessed from the hotels location with a public bus stop just outside the hotel on Orchard road and closest MRT station was about a 10-15 minute walk towards the ION Orchard mall. We had a deluxe double room which was on the 5th floor. It was lavishly decorated and the bed was comfortable. Also the shower was excellent with decent power. One minor complaint would be our room was close to the elevator shaft and you could hear the elevators go up and down at night but that was only one night I noticed that when I had a sleepless night due to my body being off with jet lag. Every other night I hadn’t noticed it. The breakfast was exceptional, regardless what you like to eat for breakfast I’m sure you’ll be satisfied here, I’ve never seen such a wide variety of food for breakfast buffet before!

The most noteworthy thing about the Orchard Hotel is the formidable flushing power of its shitters. I was able to confirm this true for the bathroom fittings in two neighboring rooms (as the adjoining rooms that we requested were unavailable unfortunately) so I assumed this is true for the rest of the property and is a conscious, and dare I say commendable design decision. I wish millennium hotels would market this feature more overtly.
The surprising velocity of the flush tweaked my scientific curiosity, and I was keen to see what items it could make short work of. A bar of soap? No problem. Hotel slipper? We got you. A pair? We got that too. My wife had booked dinner (not in the hotel thankfully) so I had to leave the bog otherwise my experiments would have continued all night as a cheerful diversion from the shoddy service at we had experience at the hotel. I did find myself wondering during dinner if it could shift a towel – it probably could! In fact, after pondering all the variables I feel confident that the WC at Orchard Hotel could rapidly see off a house brick. If an oversized cistern and high velocity flow is a feature that you want or need in a hotel en suite, then the Orchard Hotel is for you. There is probably no realistic human discharge that could not be forced through the U-bend.
I did observe also that the hotel is a little past its best but comfortable and clean nonetheless and in a good location on Orchard Road in Singapore. This is reflected in its pricing which is fair if you can put up with the service. I recommend you ditch breakfast because it was poor. The beds were top notch, and I had a decent snooze dreaming of an infinite line of gleaming porcelain bathroom fittings all flushing in powerful gargling unison.
With the wonderful vortex created by the toilets. I am wondering of Millennium Hotels couldn’t capitalize on this feature and flush away their current training manual and start again. On balance though, the hotel served a great base for my wife’s shopping spree and considering the almost numinous WC experience, I did not feel I have flushed my money down the pan bit I would probably not be in a hurry to return.

Stayed for 2 nights last week. Have stayed here before too, being a recommendation from a Singaporean. 2 issues which are noteworthy. If you are of bigger build or taller, be careful in the shower cubicle. Your hands will more often than not contact the glass sliding door or the wall. Its a very compact one. One can get used to it but it takes a few knocks to discover the limits of freedom! The hot water on day 1 took some time in coming. Had to wait for 2~3 minutes for the right temperature of hot water to spout out. This is a waster of water, considering the number of rooms in the hotel. On the morning of check out, the hot water readily was there from the word go. A bit strange. The other issue is more serious. The luggage table (for want of a better word) is situated just below a cupboard. When one tries to open the suitcase, remove clothes and utilities etc, the forehead comes in sharp contact with the lower edge of the cupboard. I am 5'7" and it took some sharp contact to remind me to be more careful when approaching my suitcase. This needs looking into. My room was on the Orchard side. Otherwise, the hotel location is within convenient walking distance to various shopping malls and complexes.They also have a currency ATM inside the hotel, Price is a bit steep, but Singapore is a costly city. Paid USD 161 for room only, no breakfast !

I am currently staying here with my family. We are booked into the Signature Deluxe suites on floors 16-18 for a couple of weeks. These rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, soft beds and sound proof walls, simply perfection. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast is the biggest I’ve ever seen in my entire life so much choice. The hotel has a few restaurants to choose from and you fall out onto orchard road, the location is fab. The pool is huge and mostly empty. (Hate writing reviews like this cos then everyone is going to come here but the signature deluxe rooms are so worth booking do it.) We will be back Orchard see you next time!!
