Recommend highly if you have a little one. The facilities are perfect but most importantly the staff! Everyone has been so welcoming, very attentive and incredibly helpful which is so so appreciated when travelling with a very tired 1 year old! Special thanks to Oonan, Siti, Mary and Feli for their extra special care. Management should be very impressed with the quality and skill of their staff!

We stayed for 3 nights in the Deluxe King. I think they have recently renovated as everything is very nicely done and different to some pictures. Clean and modern design but still very comfortable and welcoming. We stayed in the deluxe king and had a lovely amount of space for us and our 1 year old. The cot provided is nice quality, clean with bedding. There was no bath in this room, but a very spacious shower with rain or standard head. Filtered water is provided in the room along with a Nespresso machine, tea kettle and necessary bags and pods with a small fridge. Plenty of plug sockets and ones next to the bed also have USB and USB-C charging ports which is very useful.

Breakfast is also very nice. There is a mix of western and eastern, which does varies day to day. There are the standard pastries, breads, salads, cold meats and cheese. Pancakes and bacon as well as a fresh egg station made to order. There is also congee, dumplings and a fresh noodle station. High chair and children’s cutlery was provided for us.

The pool area is secluded and a lovely place to cool off for a moment from the heat. Towels and sun loungers are provided pool side. It is a smaller area but was not busy when we visited.

Location is great for public transport links. It is 6 minutes from Tanjong Pagar MRT which is about an hour from Changi. It took us 30 minutes on the bus to Sentosa and about a 15 minute walk into the heart of China Town. There are some lovely looking restaurants very close by and even in the hotel. We didn’t get to try any this visit as we were out with family, but they also said that it is a good area for food.

We will definitely be staying at the Amara when we visit in the future. It is so important to feel comfortable when travelling with the child and it can be nerve wracking trying somewhere new but the Amara exceeded our expectations in every way!

On arrival reception staff very vague and never explained hotel rules
the room on floor 18 was showing signs of wear poor sockets and holes around shower head on the whole a nice room.
In the club rooms we were entitled too laundry[two items] and club access included in the price during our stay this was not explained at reception and would note this for future guests on arrival.
Also info needed in room giving b/fast times and club entitlements etc would be useful.
Another issue of note is there are no toilets for guest use on level 6[gym and pool].
Halfway through our 10 night stay we were moved from level 18 to level 17 which was a great inconvenience to us but the room on floor 17 was not showing so many signs of wear.
Breakfast for the first 6 mornings were to a high standard but went downhill slightly when the head chef changed no names sorry I can say that the much older head chef knew his stuff and the younger more rounded head chef was not as component meaning on how to poach an egg for example.
Jant?[Korean decent]in club lounge was most hospitable and always had a lovely smile.
We had a late flight 2315 so we needed a room till late and hats off to the Amara they let us use the room till 1800.
Would we stay again yes as its next to our sons apartment.

We stayed in this hotel for 10 nights over the christmas period in a club room on the 17th floor.

This is the same floor that the club lounge is situated. Firstly, this lounge is staffed by two lovely ladies who work alternate shifts. Both these ladies are a credit to the hotel and themselves. The service they provided was outstanding. I hope the hotel appreciates just how good these two are and rewards them appropriately. We had breakfast in the club lounge most mornings as the breakfast room for all the other guests on the ground floor was very busy and noisy. You could get meals cooked just for you that arrived hot, unlike the downstairs buffet.

Each evening the club lounge provides free cocktail and any other type of drink for free between 6pm and 8pm. These ladies prepare your drinks for you and bring them to your table. There is an extensive range of hot and cold snacks with a nice selection of cheeses and small cakes. They could not do enough for you and liked to chat to us about our day which made us feel at home.

Our room was let down by a very hard bed. Despite requesting a soft bed prior to arrival, it was like laying on concrete. After the first night we approached staff about the bed and they put a thin doona between the mattress and the bottom sheet. This made only a slight difference, so sleep was a problem for all 10 nights. The room had a large bathroom, with two showers, one over a bath and a rain shower in a separate stall. The rain shower was very enjoyable. Actual space in the bedroom was just average with not a lot of room to move about. This club room also had a free mini bar.

Reception staff were very polite and efficient. The hotel is conveniently situated right next door to a six storey shopping mall with a number of eating places.

All in all a nice hotel with good facilities and great staff. Pity about the bed

Overall the stay @ Amara hotel was great, cleanliness, comfort, toilet, my only concern was the food provided during the quarantine order: personal opinion to have personal catered time slots for meal delivery to ensure temperature of food is kept hot/warm. e.g. if someone wakes up early can probably accommodate early breakfast for them 7-8 but if someone sleeps in maybe 9-10am.
During the quarantine, whenever u asked for items or order something from outside to be passed to you, it is done efficiently, never more than 10 minutes after the item arrives at the hotel lobby, appreciated that.
The aircon here is really solid, kept the room very cold, however faced issues like really dry skin that became painful overtime led me to bring moisturiser eventually, perhaps hotel can provide small bottles of moisturisers and serve food that include hot soups which can help make the stay more comfortable as we are stuck in a constantly cold environment.

Overall big complaints, if you are here for a simple stay all is great :) will recommend!

Our first interaction with Amara Hotel was the worrying long queues at the reception, but this wasn't at all how our whole experience there was eventually.

Being served Kek Lapis and water while waiting, we decided to approach Raymond to ask about our Silver exclusives from Hotels.com. He proactively brought us to a counter to be served immediately. This was when we were introduced to the exceptional Siti who from then on forth has been extremely helpful in more ways than one.

Although the silver exclusives privileges was something that she wasnt sure of, the service we received and the bonus benefits we were given outweigh whatever privilege there is out there. She was honest to inform us of the full occupancy and managed our expectations with regards to waiting time. We were told that waiting time might reach an hour but to compensate us, she provided us complimentary breakfast for the 2 mornings we were there. The 1-hour wait was made easy by the strategic location of the hotel. (100 am next door + 24 hrs NTUC opposite, there are also several bubble tea stores at Tanjong Pagar Plaza opposite)

After the check in, Siti assisted us in booking the gym which had a limited entry allowance. Our request for in-room service like a bucket of ice and glasses were also attended to immediately despite the full occupancy the hotel had.

A commendable mention is also due to the breakfast team including the chef, who was very generous and served with friendly Singaporean hospitality.

The icing on the cake was when we approached Siti again for a late checkout, as I needed some time to transfer some files on my laptop, I requested to have a 4 pm checkout, only to be pleasantly surprised with an allowance of up to 6 pm.

Overall, the experience at Amara Hotel, thanks to the outstanding staff that we interacted with is nothing short of amazing. Being a fellow Singaporean, we feel like there are our friends and even family. With a plethora of new boutique hotels that have sprung up lately, Amara Hotel has successfully retained its charm of being an older hotel with its large room area and exceptional staff.

Keep it up guys!

Where to start? We encountered many issues during our week long stay at the Amara Singapore. The location of the hotel was convenient - close to the subway station, supermarkets, several local food centres and lots of restaurants and pubs within walking distance. However, the hotel was a genuine let down. On arrival, there was no porter to helped us with our luggage so we had to struggle with the heavy glass door to bring our luggage into the lobby. We arrived at the hotel at 3 pm, and there was a long queue for checkin. It took more than 45 minutes to finally be checked in, despite the fact that we had expected a more express checkin experience as warranted for a Club room. We stayed in a Club room (1812) for a week. The room, while spacious, was dusty, it seemed to us that housekeeping staff rarely vacuumed the carpet. On one day, we found one spider in the bathroom and on another day, another spider was dangling from a thread on the front door of the room. We had to duck under the spider to get in and out of the room. Calls to the front desk, housekeeping, concierge went unanswered all the time. Each evening, we had to carry our own laundry bags to the lobby and hand them to any staff we could find there. Afternoon tea in the Tea Room offered to Club rooms was dismal - a few pieces of cakes, pastries which were the same each day. Not sure if they were recycled over and over. Canapes session consisted of 2 trays of hot food - usually deep fried chicken tenders or fries or something forgettable. The tea box containing tea bags in the Tea Room was hidden away by the staff most of the time, we had to look for it during afternoon tea and in the evening. We had to remind the lounge staff on several occasions that the water in the coffee machine needed to be topped up. All in all, we did not feel the sincerity of the staff nor that they were genuinely trying to deliver a level of service that was expected for a hotel of this class. We will not be returning.

Honestly, the service was so good, from house keeping to front desk. Loved the housekeeping lady who picks up the phone and she recognises that I'm more comfortable speaking and chinese and automatically switches! There are 3 staff total at the front desk during my 2 weeks stay, and one of them is Raymond. Honestly, all 3 of them were sooo nice and great. But I managed to meet Raymond in person when checking out. He looked like a very fine gentlement in a very nice suit. So impressed by his outfit as it was so formal eventho he can't meet his guests due to the fact that Amara is now a Government Quarantine Facility.

The only down side of this stay is that the hotel room is old. Tears in the paint of the wall and leakage in showers. Shower gets clogged easily from hair and I'm a male, must be imposible to shower for females. Water heater is unstable, temperature goes up and down without even touching the knob. Had to fight constantly with the Air Conditioning as it does not function well. No matter how high or low you set it, it only stays at 21 - 22°C zone. When it's off, it is still very cold at 25°C. Can never climb out of bed in the morning as it is too cold, and I never on the air con. Every Quarantine meal contains rice fyi, you will get sick of it. And the TV is very old, only can watch cable tv and you can clearly see static on it.

Honestly, I think I'm just cranky as I had to stay for 13 days, the room itself isn't that bad. They provide many things that other Quarantine hotels didn't - Iron, Ironing board, Hair dryer, mini fridge that is actually cold, a lot of coffee and tea, a lot of bottled water, laundry service, HAIR CONDITIONER, 4 pillows, thick thick blanket. Other hotels don't provide so many pillows or thick blackets as it is hard to wash, trust me, this is my third Quarantine hotel.

I would have gave my stay a 3 star rating from the room, however it's a 4 due to the service from front desk and house keeping. Exemplary service.

We spent four nights at the Amara as a family for a medical trip and couldn't be happier with the Amara.

First, the price. It is a moderately priced hotel that is comfortable and provides accommodation well beyond what you pay for. The rooms are well kept, comfortable, and well maintained.

Second, the service. I cannot compliment the staff enough on how well they treat their guests. We have small children and the staff engaged them, checked in on our son who was getting medical attention, and gave us an extra late checkout on our last day.

Put all this together with a great location and you have a hotel that is well worth it. We will certainly be returning here.

We stayed at the Amara hotel over the new year period. I was really very impressed with the service upon arrival to the hotel- from the moment our taxi pulled in, there was a staff member there to help us and offer a warm welcome. The check in process was completely stress free.

The stay was very comfortable, the rooms clean, modern and are a great size, with more than enough space for two people. The location of the hotel was brilliant...we literally walked everywhere from the hotel. There are some very good places in that block for some authentic Asian cuisine.

The highlight of the hotel for me was meeting Raymond in the reception area. Raymond greeted us every day with such friendliness and enthusiasm. He was eager to help us with anything he possibly could, from choosing a location for celebrating New Year’s Eve to finding transport to take us to our next stop over in Malaysia. This is a man who goes above and beyond in his role...nothing was too much effort for him and it is evident that he genuinely wants all of the hotel guests to have a fabulous time on their vacation. This made such a nice change, having come from a city where this sort of personalised service and detail to attention is very rarely to find.

Staff And Hospitality
Booked an executive room for a two night stay but was given a complimentary upgrade to the club room. We
called a day earlier to request for early check in and were told we could do it at 11am which was a nice gesture by the hotel.

During check in on 10/12 we were warmly greeted by Noorjan who informed us that there were some backend issues with the system and she did not want us to wait too long so she would hand us the keys first and handle technical issue backend. She was warm, polite and friendly throughout the interaction. We also requested for late checkout to which the receptionist on the night of 11/12 (unfortunately I am unable to remember her name) explained that due to a large influx of visitors on 12/12 she could only extend our checkout to 1pm which we were more than happy to take up.

We were also given a complimentary birthday cake for my birthday which was nice.

Room
The complimentary upgrade got us a room on the 18th level which was nice. The room was pretty big with a small study table and sofa set. The TV was quite dated and the hairdryer was not working. The cleaning lady kindly exchanged the hairdryer for us on the second day. The washroom had a separate shower and tub. For those who love their bubble baths, unfortunately, the tub is a tad tiny as I could barely lie in the tub with my legs stretched out. I was also unable to figure out how to configure the aircon unit as somehow the temperature would reset to the default temperature somehow.

Complimentary Breakfast
Staff at the restaurant were professional and friendly. Due to COVID, breakfast was served in an ala carte semi buffet manner. Appetisers were free flow (eg. Yoghurt, cereal, salad etc.). Mains were limited to one order (eg. American, singaporean, congee etc.). Beverages were free flow as well.

To be honest the food was okay but the roti prata left more to be desired.

Location
Location was great as it’s a quick walk to the MRT and is near to many reputable eateries in the area. Fairprice is also just across the road for 24hrs grocery shopping.

Overall
The stay was good thanks to the friendly and helpful staff which really stood out amidst the little blemishes stated above.
