The hotel has a good location, almost directly on MRT Chinatown. However to find the hotel on your own for the first time could be a little bit challenging.... But once you know the way, it’s easy and quick. Opposite the hotel is a shopping...More

We stayed 9 nights at the Furama in Chinatown and thought its location was excellent. We walked everywhere even though it was hot. We did not get sunburnt. We stayed one night at the Marina Bay sands and did everything in that area. But we often caught the MRT bay to the gardens because they were so lovely. The thing about Chinatown is that you can eat for cheap. We ate for $5 a meal at B grade hole in the walls and never got sick. The time we did get upset stomach was after a very expensive meal of chilli mud crab at a very nice restaurant.. The beauty about Singapore is the Government grade the holes in the wall cafés A to F. If your concerned hire a bike or take a scooter. We ofter saw people scootering around this route. The business people, jog on this route.. The MRT is excellent and cheap. You pay $7 for a card and you get travel with that. We topped it up with another $20 and didn't use anywhere near that amount despite going out to Palu Ubin an Island off Changi - which is a fun day. Singapore is a clean safe country. Can't wait to have grandchildren so I can take them there. Julie Ryan 58 - a walker - completed the full Spanish Camino
